I also saw the LO3 episode where Slasher mentions the team's formation, http://www.twitch.tv/onemoregametv/b/333582570 (around 2:05:39). I know if this is diverging from the topic but Slasher also speculates on what seems to be Slayers future a few minutes later. | ||

You support your talent directly and have your banner flown while they actually perform their profession. Your advertising and product delivery channels are completely different, your target audience is completely different, the products/services you're "selling" are completely different. And if a court were somehow pursuaded that consumers were likely to be confused, the off-hand usage with "esports" really wouldn't do much good--how different from "Sports & Entertainment" is "eSports"? This is kind of like John Madden (famous football coach/sportscaster) buying a stake in the Oakland Raiders (football team). I would expect that he would just want to talk about the Raiders all the time and only broadcast their games and somehow work talking about them into every other broadcast he did. (Yes, I realize he doesn't broadcast anymore, this is just an example.) | ||

Yeah but that's just being nakedly pro-foreigner without any other purpose other than being pro-foreigner. Heck I'm that just because I'm not Korean, and I'd love to see someone else win GSL one day. For TB/Husky there is the potential (not saying it will happen, of course) for the casts to be skewed for self-serving purposes. I think that would turn a lot of people off out of the sliminess of it, and possibly degrade the product by diverting their focus from what makes people tune in now. | ||

They probably could have just eaten up the HoSeo team if they REALLY wanted, but they would probably have to cut most of the prospects and it would be stepping on a team's toes that is trying to survive. fOu and FXO was just a perfect storm. FXO had the money, but not a strong team that could compete in Korea, and fOu was a middling team with no money, but could become a very strong team if their financial woes were cured. Choya and Boss came together at the right time and created now a GSTL champion. I'm interested to see what happens to Axiom. I wouldn't mind seeing a new Korean GSTL team. | ||
