We all know what's up with that......
I have a dream that one day this community will rise up and demand equal treatment for equal pro players.
I have a dream that one day the league of Global Starcraft 2 and the Starleague of Ongamenet will be able to sit down together at the table of Esports.
I have a dream that one day even the organization of KESPA, an organization sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of good games and fair play.
This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to MLG with. This will be the day when all professional Starcraft players will be able to play with a new meaning:
"Our game, 'tis of thee, sweet Wings of Liberty, of thee I sing. Land where Brood War died, land of the Terran pride, from every tourney bracket, let good games ring."
And when this happens, when we allow good games to ring, when we let them ring from every tournament and every show match, from every series and every league, we will be able to speed up that day when all pro SC2 players -- Koreans and Foreigners, KESPA and ESF, Teamliquid and EG -- will be able to join hands and sing in the words of that old gaming spirit:
"Good luck have fun! Good luck have fun! Good game well played! Good luck have fun!"
Idra vs Flash will be interesting. With the way Idra has been playing for the past few months though, I don't imagine he has much of a chance to win it.

That's where you are wrong my friend. IdrA was born for moments like this.

I know Scarlett was saying that she couldn't handle cross-server lag from her internet, so it's my guess that she chose to withdraw. Only a guess though.

IdrA beating Flash in any starcraft related game would be a crime against the universe itself.... Flash will rightfully Smash out IdrA and save us all from the universe collapsing upon itself :D
See, unfortunately jaedong, unless he magically became much better than he was a couple of weeks ago, is nowhere near stephano or naniwa. I think alot of BW fans are going to be pretty pretty disappointed. I'd even say Idra has a better than 40% chance of beating Flash if they played right now.
Actually, while I am editing this. What is the actual time for this?

honestly, most groups sound like a joke..
Group H is very interesting though.
Agreed. Only Group H is stacked with enough star power.
The only other group I'm very interested in watching is Group E because Soulkey has impressed me a lot whenever I saw him play.
It's silly how some groups don't even have a single non-KeSPA Korean. The KeSPA players will own this tournament just because of how many of them there are.
US vs KeSPA doesn't look that promising, and I can watch ESF vs KeSPA in GSL and OSL. EU vs KeSPA might be somewhat interesting, but it's still online with big lag issues when KeSPA players have probably no experience whatsoever with cross-server play. I'd have liked to see some other foreigners than the usual few, but you can't really expect that from MLG.
We'll see. If it's PPV only (is it?), I certainly won't buy it.

Why are all europeans, ESF-Koreans and NA players separated from each other? This makes Groups very imbalanced.
Group A: SoO + Fantasy gonna win that group ezpz Group B: Rain, Roro, Hero and Major are all sooo good. Group C: Flash, Skyhigh, Effort, maybe Sheth Group D: Last + randomguy Group E: Soulkey, Alive Group F: MC, Oz + X Group G: Thorzain + Grubby Group H: Stephano + jaehoon/BaBy
Im rooting for BaBy. I met him in HotS Beta and he jsut ripped me apart after I was in a huge lead O.O

Group F is obviously going to be stats and Crazy-Hydra.
The groups layout that KeSPA released only captures half the picture--as you'll see as we/they release schedules over the next few weeks, EVERY MLG player plays EVERY KeSPA player over the 5 week run of MvP.
Excited to bring you guys all these matches--and we'll have an updated FAQ up with this week's matchup in just about an hour here.

Looking forward to it. Posters above are completing misunderstanding the format.

Its MLG vs KeSPA. Look at the matchups in the OP. I don't think Naniwa will play Stephano.
I think you are correct. MLG (non-Kespa) players play the Kespa players in the Regular Season stage of this. In the play-offs stage is where MLG players play each other and the Kespa players face off against each other.

Oh, wow, you're right. Silly me, I actually didn't notice this. Only Koreans from Fnatic, SlayerS, EG and SK.
Foreigners better put up their best fight because this is the best opportunity they will ever have of beating the Kespa guys. Unlike the ESF pros the Kespa players have little to no experience in cross server play and they are likely ignorant of the EU/NA metagame. The potential for a mini TSL3-esque run is absolutely possible so foreigners better take advantage of it now before Kespa pros assimilate into the general 'Koreans own white dudes' state of the game.
A: SoO and Fantasy (but really rooting for any EG/ SKT player here ) B: Sun (Rain) and Roro C: Flash and... no idea. Rooting for Sheth. Wouldn't be surprised if an elephant took it though. D: Last and... no idea again. Rooting for IdrA E: Alive, Soulkey. (Go Puma!) F: MC and Oz (Go MC!) G: Thorzain and Grubby H: Stephano and Baby (but I would like Naniwa and Jaedong )
Wow. After looking at these groups it really hit me how many awesome match ups there will be between old and new fan favorites. Hopefully the matches will live up to the hype!
1. All Regular Season Matches will consist of two Games.
It would appear it is neither BO1 or BO3 .
wtf is up with that playoff format...MLG on one side, kespa on the other...so we will only see 1 kespa v MLG match in the playoffs...in the grand final...weak, very weak

But we will see every kespa player vs every mlg player during the regular season. There is no intra-regional play during the regular season.

cross server play, most likely on NA in Idra's best match up? Yeah he has a chance. Don't forget he beat MKP not to long ago. I'm not saying Idra will win or is the favorite, but I think he has a good shot at it.

From the looks of it its PPV only. I see no mention of a free stream anyway.

I was excited and ready to purchase your Arena tournament. Unfortunately I am not interested in this type of format/tournament, I am going to have to pass Mr.MLG . MLG is really the only tournament I sit down and enjoy all weekend, me sad.
Oh wow each region is guaranteed to get people to advance. That's pretty lame. You shouldn't get to advance just because you do better than other players from your region if there are other kespa players above you.
Damn, no mkp or drg. Wonder why they turned down their invites. I see they're in the regular invite only tournament, so maybe they didn't want to play in both and saw their chances higher there.

There are 6 ESF players in it and MKP and DRG were on the invite list when this was announced. They both just decided to decline.

MC - SK not a part of ESF OZ, Alive - Fnatic is not part of ESF Puma - EG, not ESF Alicia - Slayers is not a part of ESF Crank - teamless

That's a good point. I guess in my mind, I just call all non kespa koreans ESF, though they're technically not. Actually, I don't even use the ESF term myself and just consider them gom or non kespa koreans.
