Nani's group is actually pretty weak imo, he'll probably get out.

I think JD actually has an okay chance in his group, MKP hasn't been playing well recently and I think Jaedong can take a ZvZ.

Group E looks ridiculous.

Groups C, E, and H are absolutely impossible in my opinion

Least surprising development ever.

Seed clearly showing that he knows to pick the weakest and MC showing he hasnt learned his lesson since the MVP incident.

MC's strongest MU is PvZ.

He could have either picked Jaedong or Life.

...He made the right choice.

I would have picked Life for sure out of the two. My sole reason for that is simply that Jaedong, being a Kespa zerg, has probably had to practice more vP matchups for Proleague than anything else (he certainly has played in enough) to the point where I would say his ZvP is probably a matchup I would fear.

The only real big advantage I would give to Life is that he knows the GSL maps a lot better than JD so if it comes to a map choice game its the advantage to Life over JD but I dont think thats enough to warrant picking him.

These groups are some sick stuff.

Btw, to people wondering about the new map (Abyssal City), this should be it:

Looks pretty cool to me.

Keep in mind that Curious and Life are now on the same team. ZvZ galore.

Curious
vZ: 22-9 (70.97%)

Life
vZ: 50-18 (73.53%)

oh sweet didn't see that they were adding this in too. :D :D :D

Thought this map was beautiful when I saw it in the map thread. Can't wait to see it in action.

Abyssal city is a pretty unique map. Im pretty excited to finally see a map that is a bit different. (It has a similar expansion style to daybreak, but their is a lot of high ground/low ground stuff going on here)

I disagree. If MC wanted to play PvZ, then he has limited options. Line was taken. Symbol, Curious, Life, and Sniper look like they're in good shape. NesTea is on a team he is partnered with (and a pretty good friend to boot). So you have DRG and JD left. DRG is slumping, sure, but DRG can surge back to form at any moment, while JD is good but unproven. (Also JD recently lost to JangBi, who isn't impressive at all.)

MC had none of those options, as you're only allowed to pick from Tier 4.

Seed has first pick. So MC was stuck with JD.

I feel these games are going to be amazing. MC was already practicing with JD when he was preparing for DRG by this stage they must know eachother pretty well. So keen for this season now so many good groups. With big hitters. Feel it may leave the finals a bit of a low though

Mana gets a group with three terrifying Terran players. Rain has a good chance of advancing out of his group. Can't wait to watch all matches. Definitely want to see how Groups C, E, and H turn out.

Quick Question, I saw the GSL final of season 4 will be in October. Does that mean no more IPL + GSL ro4 up?
