It's a promotion move. Every team does it. It has nothing to do with arrogance, they just that do that to have n00bs and possible sponsors think that they're the best team to support. Don't think too much into it.

Every team says they're the best team or something close to it. Stop thinking too much into it. It's just pure business.

Slayers seems to be sort of falling apart isn't it? Probably have something to do With that.

If they pick up stephano and he is smart enough to get back to korea thats 4 people, only 1 more needed to play gstl, and there are still a lot of koreans who would make a lot more money playing for eg.
Thorzain still wants to have his base in Korea aswell doesn't he?

"Evil Geniuses will continue to maintain a strong, ongoing training and team presence in South Korea, the details of which will be released in the coming weeks"
Hmm ... I assume they are cooking up a new partnership. Who with, though?

a TL/EG partnership would be sexy. Just to see foreigners go for it in gstl together.

EG to partner with a KesPa team inc

TSL is already partnered With Millenium though aren't they? But With Stephano leaving Millenium I guess there aren't anyone left for TSL to host from Millenium. That would however get as close as it'll ever get to my dream EG.Symbol :p

Guess this means EG as a separate team for the following GSTL

partnering with IM
LG-IMSKEG

Yeah I just left him out because he dropped out of up and downs due to health problems (afaik), so I think it's kinda unclear now when he'll return to korea.

The SlayerS brand has lost much of its luster of late.
On another note... Does anyone else think EG's raring to buy up Team 8? Gahaha, what the fuck are you smoking?
1. Team 8 players are contracted and "owned" by KeSPA. The buy out clause must be insane.
2. Jaedong's salary is higher than what EG's sc2 division is worth.
3. On top of that they have BaBy, someone that has been in the scene since he was like 9 and been with KeSPA since he was 12 years old. Probably the best multitasking Terran that have played Starcraft, and his overall mechanics are really good. One of the hotter KeSPA prospects to make a splash in sc2. Pretty much loved by everyone and his value is really high. I doubt KeSPA would let go of him easy...
4. And then they have 9 other players and coaching staff. Not the best but not the worse players either.
5. Why would they wanna leave KeSPA?
Basically, Team 8 is worth more than the whole EG organisation. Silly you.

This part is most definetly wrong.

Finally,nice news for SlayerS.
|
I don't like partnerships in SC2. They are shortlived and blur the concept of teams even more in a game, that is mainly a non-team sport.
|
Crank left Slayers, EG gone no more JYP in GSTL... oh wait! thats right, they picked up Genius.
If anything the team is now stronger lol.
|
I think EG will get their own house and maybe compete in GSTL.. that would be sick!

Anyways I wonder whats gonna happen to all the EG who were staying in Korea, are they gonna set up their own house, maybe move? I'm always confused why people type up these announcements in the format of press releases, which are typically for press pages and not for public consumption. Is it just to play business man?

Obviously you know nothing about financial markets and leverage. You can borrow money, if you use it to buy a company, and use that company as a security for the banks.
Sure, that can backfire, but it can be done. (for backfire exapmle, read about Volkswagen and Porsche)
