It's not about the team name, it's about the players. I can't help but feel like some of the SlayerS are going to feel a little... thrown under.
SKT's lineup in 2010 is pretty much the same as it is now.

The Emperor returns.
LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR.
To be honest, this is just what I have feared. Kespa teams with more than enough capital to buy out players/coaches off the not-as-wealthy SC2 teams. All it takes is a salary that cannot be refused.
At the very same time, this will be a key to making SC2 to a comparative level of popularity in Korea.

Almost every player. Nothing changed )
The only thing that changed is that Players are 2 years older , and iloveoov is in the army ;p

They have to get attention somehow.

It really depends on what Boxer's role at SlayerS was. Presumably he was a strategy coach more than anything so this shouldn't be the disaster people are thinking. Boxer's name was just used for public attraction, but the team was always run by Jessica and Cella.
Yes I am aware of this. And Team won't run profitable unless you get sponsors which was pretty much based on Boxer's fame. With razer out I believe and now Boxer gone, what major sponsor will go for Slayers when the Korean scene becomes dominated by Kespa and foreign community hates the way she does PR.

I'll always have faith in the emperor. SlayerS will do great, Boxer as player/coach will be great, and the greatest player ever will continue to leave his indelible mark on eSports. It's freaking Boxer. Welcome Home.

Very doubt money is the issue here. I doubt Boxer would have made this move unless it's beneficial toward Slayers.

Ah, well then it's definitely more understandable. Thanks.

there is a rule kespa teams arrent allowed to buy gom players and other way around with the only exeption of SLAYERS who isnt part in the federation so they can do whatever they want

Coolest full-circle career in eSPORTS yet.

Slayers lost there "Face" the most important part for the outside world. I am sure Jessica's a fine team manager as long as she's not doing an PR and stay's in the background. This is already not happening with her Tweets going on currently. For a team this is as bad as it gets tbh.

Pretty worried about Slayers now, especially if things with MMA don't work out.
Boxer was the heart and core of Slayers, not Jessica or anyone else...
|
Good for BoxeR, but the biggest story is SlayerS.
Will their top players get taken into SKT? Will they partner up with SKT? Will they disband?
I can't imagine all the current SlayerS players being fine with Jessica leading the charge and their founder being elsewhere.
I anticipate a slow and painful(to the fans) death.

so, Slayers vs SKT T1 rivaly will be hell lotta awkward?

Believe me when I say this, there is more to this deal than just Boxer moving to SKT as coach.

Why are people bringing up the GOM/KESPA player lock? Hes joining as a coach not a player.....

Holy check, this was unexpected O.o
For some reason Fantasy's gg timing after receiving Boxer coaching was the first thing to come to mind
