He was not literally considering retirement.

It reminds me of a past GSL group selection show, where when it was MKP's turn to speak, the first thing he did was refute someone's assertion that Nestea wasn't as good anymore. MKP sticks up for his colleagues like a champ. It is the easiest thing in the world to love that man. Well if he doesnt stick up for NesTea he would probably be vaporized, so he didnt have much of a choice.

I guess its just this odd SC2 competitive scene where you pick players based on race/nationality rather than their skill in the game. Liquids team is quite big, so its fine if they don't want to take more players.... but to say no more Korean players, seems a bit wrong. Perhaps better phrasing would be no more players would would train out of Korea, rather than no more Korean players. Still refreshing of Genius to be so honest about his efforts, and even refreshing of TL to give a clear reason. Maybe TL is holding out for MMA ![]()

They are a foreign team that take pride in being a foreign team. Nothing wrong with that. A few Koreans can help the fanbase and increase exposure worldwide. More than that becomes redundant, especially when you're a foreign team with foreign sponsors.

I forget the exact condition he has, but basically his spine bends in the opposite direction it should, which is an extremely painful and very serious problem. I would say its far more important than Flash's wrists, not treating back injuries is scary stuff.

Unless it's a fan-favorite like Stephano, they should focus on big Korean names/promising Korean players so they can do well in team leagues and grab sponsors and also exposes Team Liquid to Koreans and show them they're the most serious foreign team. They could grab one top top level foreigner that could go compete in GSTL and keep their foreigner team image though. Pretty sure they don't even want stephano, he is too much of a controversial player for them.

I would say its far more important than Flash's wrists, not treating back injuries is scary stuff. it results from sitting infront of a computer alot with bad posture. inflammation in the cervical discs can lead to wrist pains which i think is what hes suffering from. i suffer inflammation due to posture and excessive alcohol intake and my wrists started hurting alot last year. ive stopped drinking so much and improve my posture + eating healthier foods and my condition improved somewhat. still hurts when i spend extended periods gaming though.

I don't think TL was ever interested in Stephano, since they've stated TL will only accept players of excellent reputation and Stephano is admittedly lazy and he's been getting drunk after every tournament like 4 times in a row.

I asked why TL might not like Genius talking about being turned down, I think I see why now, lots of speculation posts and just people talking about something TL probably doesn't want discussed in public
