This was just posted today. Seems like a recent series perhaps?
Anyways thought this was awesome. We've already seen other videos about starcraft like the defense ministry referring to counter attacks in Starcraft, as well as 2 korean dramas (one saying "starcraft is like love" and another one with a guy comparing dating to playing a game like starcraft)
Find out what's more important than playing Starcraft 2 with your friends in the video X)
: D That was actually really funny, I love listening to koreans (with subtitles) when they're not yelling, reminds me about the movie with the two korean brothers who go to war but eventually they join seperate sides (for a reason I can't recall) probably one of the best movies I ever saw.

Anywho, loved the dialogue
That movie was Taegukgi, which stars Jang Dong Gun, who is also in that clip OP posted lol
But seriously, I would ignore all life commitments when playing SC with the bros, except for a SlayerS_BoxeR cameo. The phone can go fuck itself, unless it's Boxer or Flash.
the thing im wondering is whether boxer appears later in the episodes :>
+when i watched the video the first time i had this stupid youtube overlay blocking the subtitles so i wondered where the fuck limyohwan was mentioned :>
I missed that! Nice observation! Btw very glad they chose SC2 and not LoL. BW would have been ok, but maybe it's because kespa is seemingly switching over to SC2 that they chose SC2 (or maybe cus it's the one Boxer plays...? unless they are also showing they support SC2 lol).
Can somebody who knows Korean figure out what the account being used is? The name comes up at 0:03 on the medivacs and 0:36 on the mutas, but I don't know any Korean. And I'm not even sure if it is clear enough to actually be read.
Edit: at 0:44 and 1:19 you can see that the Terran is a KeSPA account. Now all i need is the Zerg(s) (i think there are two different ones, one in Korean and one with Latin alphabet)

You might not know, but Boxer and Jessica are very, very popular in Korea. They are almost like the Royal Family in Britain. Wolf said something like "They are like movie stars" or something along those lines + some more details during SlayerS match in GSTL vs ZeNex if I recall corectly... Or maybe SlayerS vs NSH... Check out that seasons VoDs and look for a moment where the camera shows Jessica and Boxer on a bench for a few seconds.

Oh my freaking god. That was probably better than this thread. Then again, many things are better than a mere idle mention of something Starcraft related. After I read about this sports star walking up to some major scene members, ripping his shirt off to reveal some cool SC related shirt, then asking for autographs on said shirt, I kinda became disinterested in idle mentions of SC.
I like how they act like they're playing a 2v2 in a pc bang next to each other, and it looks like they're opponents are right there in front of them hearing all their strategies. Also they are playing on a 1v1 map antiga shipyard!

They're not anything like the royal family. Almost everyone under 35 probably knows who Lim Yo Hwan and Gim Ga Yeon are (Jessica is probably known by more older people) but I doubt most even know that they're a couple.

Yeah it was definitely supposed to be sarcastic, Jun Ji Hyun was the most popular actress for such a long time. Sadly the Emperor is nothing compared to her.

Was thinking this exactly and did a huge double-take. Great clip, I'm always surprised when something SC related makes it into the mainstream, even though I know Koreans have a completely different view of it than here in the US.
just a question, is the channel SBS? i remember watching a korean channel in my beijing hotel a few weeks ago and it had a show where a girl kept clubbing and there was drama between her and some guys/girls. Anyone happen to know what show this is? I do not remember the channel but it started with a S so I am guessing it is SBS....

Lim Yo Hwan.. There are rumours that you went to "A Gentleman's Dignity" Lee Jong Hyuk's cafe with Jun Ji Hyun.. Do you want a scolding? kekekekeke We were watching the drama together and our eyes met... keke
I'm curious to whether Koreans really think Starcraft is cool to be into or is it kind of corny and for the nerds. Kind of like fake wrestling is over here. Yeah they are celebrities and yes they have big crowds but there is a stigma to it. When I see some kid wearing some WWF shirt I immediately slap on this stigma that is hard to describe. It's kind of in between nerdy and you're a moron that stuff isn't real. I meet native koreans in casinos all the time and none of them play or watch starcraft. Some american koreans have never even heard of it although I don't count them as native koreans you would think they would have heard about it at least in the korean social circles.
If I went walking around Korea with some starcraft t-shirt on would people think I'm some cornball loser that's wasting his time on a game? Or would it be accepted by the people just like as if I was wearing some sports jersey. Because you know, sports is cool and all.

well Koreans are much more open to technology in general. so even if there is a stigma its much less than would be in america. obviously nerds play and watch starcraft, but being a nerd isnt a bad thing in korea. even in america nerds are starting to lose their complete uncoolness. so i would say its would be more like fantasy football. a sort of stereotypical endearing thing that guys do and girls get into, as to get some dick.

I just think he's delusional
Not surprised, people tend to exaggerate how important SC is in Korea.
I love SC and I love how much its community cares about the game, but it just feels like we're desperate for attention when people dedicate an entire thread to "omg, starcraft was mentioned once in a single episode of some random foreign tv drama!"

It was more than mentioned, there was 2 minutes of them playing/gameplay footage/actual game discussion, as well as boxer being mentioned
Well, the drama is actually ok for a korean drama...where I don't really understand whats going on when its released. All about some playboys...worth a watch
Change title to maybe "2 minutes of starcraft gameplay and talk in Korea drama" or something like that :p this doesn't sound very exciting but it was cooler than I expected.

Hmm, I'm not so sure! To be honest, I think Lim Yo Hwan / Boxer in the title sounds way more exciting than "2 minutes of starcraft gameplay and talk." To each his own

There was like a good minute of brood war in one of the Answer Me 1997 episodes (a popular korean drama). It was actually much more legit than the one in this thread, and they mention the game and strategies several times during the show.
