Figured more would be leaving after TT1 left for ROOT. It's a shame both SonG and Underdark are good players, haven't seen Rine play personally but I'm sure he's of equal skill as well. As long as DIMAGA still gets to go to events he'll be happy.
Well, at least they got Dimaga still, who is now a Dreamhack finalist.
I'm not even that much of SC2 fan and I am saddened by the fact that a gaming team is on the verge of being disbanded.
Hopefully mTw will pick up more guys.
Dimaga as the only mTw SC2 player? That's pretty crazy...
Awww, hope mTw will find more players to fill their roster up. I don't want a great team to go the way of MYM.
So mTw got first place at the Dota 2 tournament and second in the SCII tourney? That's pretty impressive considering the competition.
Beyond unsurprising when even DIMAGA isn't making any appearances in US sadly and doing tremdendously in EU. I feel if that isn't enough of an incentive for MTW to do more, then I guess they're just not focusing on SC2 (given their successes elsewhere, it's al'right I guess).

"The reason for that is that most of the important "teamladders" are located in South Korea."
I don't get this; what does "teamladders" mean? :o
Somehow I saw this coming. Aside from TT1, we haven't really heard anything coming from any of the other mTw players.
mTw doesn't really need more players than Dimaga since the major team competitions (in their view) are in South Korea. Since mTw isn't, and doesn't seem to have plans to send anyone over, there's not much point in them actually having a large roster.
So i guess what the organization is thinking, is they need to assist a team of dota players to fly to events, but not a team of starcraft players. If dimaga is realistically the only one who has a shot then it may be best to toss all of your eggs into one basket. It's a shame they have no intentions of growing talent, but as long as it doesn't become a trend then so be it.

I don't know either, I just quoted it from their website. Maybe there was something like that in WC3?
They honestly don't need anyone else, except DIMAGA. I've never even heard of those other 3 guys, and TT1 left on his own volition.
I'd rather mtw save all their money on the dota team + dimaga than spread thin on some players that will never win anything.

Well their players didn't have a lot of potential to be honest. RINE barely plays and he is so rusty that you could take one out of 100 random guys on ladder and there would be no difference. Underdark is pretty good but he just didn't seem to improve at all during 2011 and 2012 and from what I've seen he's not as active anymore aswell, he was a stable midtier GM player but nothing really special. I don't know much about SonG but he also didn't seem to be that great.
GL to mTw and hope they will support Dimaga well, he deserves it.

It works for SK with MC too.

Is there any reason that Dimaga is continuing to stay or being kept by mTw?
odd reason to disband... there are plenty of foreign team leagues, NASTL, EG MCSL, IPLTL, and rumor has it that MLG will be running one.
Whoa.
Underdark's okay, but I don't know the other two besides TT1.
actually they removed the others from the roster a while back(1 month-ish ago) and gave me an ultimatum on a few things, thats one of the reasons why i left

I'd bet he's staying on because of the support they give him. If they are going to pay him and send him to events, why leave? Now that he's the only SC2 player active, more spotlight.
Is DIMAGA going to practice with anyone aside from farming ladder?
they still essentially have their whole team xD

Any chance we will be able to see you return to your former glory and form? You used to be at the top of the top 200 NA way back, and doing really well at MLG.
Dimaga should leave for his own sake. He won't be able to improve without the help of team mates. He should join up with White-Ra. TT.Dimaga. I think they could form a very destructive team...
Don't know who RineTS, SonG, or Underdark are... do they have any accomplishments?
And with TT1 on Root, I'm not really surprised. Dimaga's a beast though

Just because you aren't teammates doesn't mean you don't have other practice partners.

In other words, yes.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing these 'teamladders' were a WC3 thing, something like online clan wars? Honestly it reads to me like a team completely uninterested in SC2 if they can't be bothered to realise 'teamladders' if they even exist are completely irrelevant in the SC2 scene. In which case it probably makes the most sense for them to just pay for the actual superstar player who can still give them exposure, rather than go through the hassle of maintaining a whole team.

only if the esport gods are in my favour..

Dima put the team on his back.

Yeah, I feel like the foreigner scene isn't centered around practicing as a team like the Korean teams are. I've gotten the impression that with most top players, especially amongst foreigners, it's an 'everybody knows everybody' kind of situation, so they usually have little problem finding strong players willing to practice. Teammates is only important if you're training in a heavily structured environment like Korean team houses. If you're all just sitting at home behind your PC's the difference between a teammate or a good friend becomes almost negligible.

If you read the article they don't want more players. Unless of course EU/NA ladder becomes suddenly better than KR one or suddenly mTw can afford to send an entire squad of players to KR indefinitely.

I never did like ultimatums. -_-

I honestly don't know who any of those players are besides dimaga and TT1, never seen any results from them, so I can't really offer a sincere and genuine "GL" to them because I don't know if they are even good or worth being picked up. I only say this because there are so many damn people trying to make it pro, I see some people I've never seen before and it's hard for me to sympathize with them.
but, GL to dimaga especially, has always been a favorite of mine.
First of all Dimaga probably has plenty of players he can practice with, he's Dimaga ffs so I wouldn't worry about that. Secondly could this possibly bring in new teams to Sc2 if they don't feel like they have to have a roster of 5-10 players? Just supporting 1 player is great in itself, costs less, full focus on promoting that one player etc then if this one man team is doing well it might look into acquiring other players. Just a thought I had when reading this
Very nice Dreamhack showing from mTw.Dota2 and mTw.Dimaga.

Well, mTw is one of the traditionally 'big' teams in Europe, so I'm pretty sure they give him adequate support and salaries. About a few Europeans not going to MLG, it's probably because paying $1,000+ for flight and accomodation, to face a super long open bracket with a dozen Code S Koreans is just not worth the money, because for them to have a potential return, it's almost impossible.
Well that would be dull for a teamleague appearance.
Team Dimaga, sounds good.
As far as i knew they only had dimaga anyway never heard of the other guys, except for tt1 of course but thought he joined another team ages ago lol >.<
