Okay, so since the topic keeps popping up, let me elaborate: No, JP shouldn't have demanded specifics about Day9 from Idra. First, Idra made clear that he didn't want to go any further, and more importantly, slandering absent persons would be a poor concept for an interview show. If anything, JP should ask Day9 for an interview and give him the opportunity to reply to the criticism. He could ask him in private, so that Day9 can decline without anyone knowing and drawing unfair conclusions. An interview like this would be the perfect place to talk to Day9 directly instead of having everyone talk about him in his absence. On topic: The show with Idra was cool! In his own dry way, the guy has a talent for speaking. It would be cool to see him become some kind of commentator or analyst after his gaming career. But first, I'd really like to see him perform well again. In his MLG Arena 2 games, he looked promising but somehow threw several games away with bad engagements. Hope he can figure that out. Oh, and it was surprising and a little sad how he admitted to dislike the game. JP could have asked why he keeps playing.

I have to admit I always assumed Idra was a prick just from the stuff around the forums and the community but that interview was really enjoyable. I don't know if its just the EG marketing machine, but more likely is that he isn't actually a prick at all, just gets raged and gets over it. I thought it was cool that he acknowleged it as a huge barrier and major props for him for working to get over it. The Day9 quip was interesting and mirrored the one 2GD also made this week. Haven't followed it much, but I think he's making a Gootecks type transistion as he has realised he is a huge draw. Question to JP: Will the show focus on people from all over esports, i.e. all games, not just SC2? I think it's much better as straight to VOD. I can imagine it would give you time to edit stuff / make it pretty and slick and would rather watch a polished product. Lastly, thanks for the content.

Of course by "poor show" I was not referring to entertainment value but to slander being a bad thing. * Um, yes. Concerning Day9, Idra also said he is a good guy and did a lot for esports. Besides, "cool show" doesn't mean I subscribe to every last word in it 100 percent. * Invite Nani too. * Welcome to the internet - the no1 location for random hostility since 1998.

Loved the interview though. The normal generic tournament interviews gets boring after a while (except Hotbids interviews, but on the other hand they are rarely generic or normal).

It's slightly different. IdrA and Day9 likes each other, IdrA and NaNiwa hates each other. If someone asked you to badmouth your friend in public, would you do it ? I wouldn't even if I think that friend is behaving badly.

Now we have a half comment from a prominent community figure about another prominent community figure just hanging out there. JP is pretty up front at the beginning of the show -- this is essentially the equivalent of Inside the Actors Studio with SC2 players. If James Lipton starting grilling Eddie Murphy about picking up a transvestite prostitute or Tom Cruise about Scientology, no fucking actor would ever go on that show. The shows intent is to get personal with well-known personalities, not interrogate people.

I didn't know there was any serious criticism of Day 9. What is it?

I think it would be pretty pointless because so much of his life is already known through his dailies. Of course the other persons were no unknowns, but to a lesser extend.
