I don't usually partake in this activity personally though ^^


Well, Midsummer is on June 22-23 this year, which means the weekend AFTER Dreamhack, so that cannot be the reason for having the tournament like this. Maybe they want to spread out the different tournaments? I don't know when the other finals are though, only care about SC2.

Well everything will be streamed on twitch as far as i know with record mode enabled. Last DH the vods of the entire day were up on twitch like 5mins after the day ended, im guessing this also will be the case this weekend. (at least i hope so)

What if someone gets 1st or 2nd multiple times and thus multi qualifies to the Dreamhack winter.

Do the additional spots go to the last minute open qualifier, the player with points, or something else?

Please use reason, do you really think 1.000.000 [ONE MILLION] unique people tuned in to watch DH Stockholm? really? It really irks me when people put "statistiks" over reason. It is simply not true, can't you make that out yourself? How many active starcraft 2 players are there worldwide? maybe 2 million? (I think that is an exaggeration but lets say it is 2 mil) do you mean that half of them tuned in to watch DH STHLM? Even if people who dont play tuned in it wouldn't mkae much of a difference.

Even if i missquoted or their article said something else it doesnät change the fact that there is no chanse that DH sthlm had 1 million unique viewers.

yeah, I'd be surprised if even 100,000 truly unique viewers tuned into to watch sc2, the stream rarely gets over 50k, 1 million is totally misleading and probably only used to draw advertisers etc

Don't confuse unique viewers with concurrent viewers.
50k concurrent usually means about 4-5 times as many unique viewers and sometimes even a lot more if the tournament goes on for a long time (i.e. 12+ hours like the last dreamhacks) since it's moving through different timezones and people have to stop watching or can't start watching right from the start.

According to MLG they had 4.7 million unique viewers and a peak of 437,000 concurrent viewers. This is of course including LoL. But DH also counts LoL viewers.

When it comes to dynamic IP it really is not relevant since it only changes when you restart the router/modem for most people. 1 million unique viewers does not sound impossible, especially not when you count LoL. A lot of viewers don't even own starcraft.

It's often two known players per group, and it's not MVPTails, it's a Swede nicknamed Tails. The other known player in the group is Jonnyrecco.

It's almost always two known players per group, and it's not MVPTails, it's a Swede nicknamed Tails. The other known player in the group is Jonnyrecco.

Ya I edited it out once I realized it was a Swedish flag. And I watch a lot of SC2 (admittedly less in tune with the European scene) but its hard for me to recall more then 1 player from most groups. But again this is a European tournament so I guess it makes sense that most of the players are European. For me its just not as exciting as seeing some top tier Koreans fighting it out because these just arent top tier players. I guess a Ret vs Nani match would be cool. Or of course T zain winning would be nice to see.
