I actually don't mind the map zvz/zvt, hate it zvp though  . But yeah it does seem to be kinda hated by a lot but I personally don't mind it for the most part.
I do hate cloud/entombed/taldarim though

They made the forward base on daybreak into a full base with 2 gas and all minerials. Guess where every terran is taking their 3rd guys?!!?

I agree, I liked what I saw in the TE version. Definitely Blizzard's fault for not updating it  .

I am quite sad that Blizzard made Daybreak's forward third a full base. In my opinion, they should have left it the way it was. I understand their reasoning, I just think it's dumb.

Is metropolis cross spawn only? Or can you spawn opposite as well like Shak.Plateau?

as P i think the best veto's are Korhal, Tal'darim, and Metal. I've found korhal to be unplayable in PvZ/ PvT. Wish we had 4 veto's with this larger pool so I could veto Shakuras D:

Yeah I would agree on a lot of people hating metal/taldarim. They have just bee in the map pool so long that it needs to change. I do not find cloud kingdom a weird veto though at all that's what I veto hate it zvt/zvp :D.

To add to the matchmaking fix, I too notice a difference where I am able to get players that are significantly under my usual range of players by several hundred points.

Best map pool yet. I'll be down voting metal, shakuras, and maybe tal darim. People say Shakuras is good for Protoss, but I just hate the map. Its okay in PvZ though.

Hope thats because of the oddity of a new season and this won't be common. High level players will get worse practice and ladder players who don't have a lot of time might get completely pooped on or have an easy easy time making the game less fun :s

Metal a favoured map? I was under the assumption that it was hated by the majority.

I was mid masters last season and played a high masters (from previous seasons) in my placement. Got demoted to diamond then played a low platinum level player and walk all over him. The matchmaking change is very noticeable. Also I'm suspended from the "good" part of my team until I get masters again. I also played a few more smurfs who told me they were better then their account (I guess they were just doing placements for it) and a few more people who seemed a bit out of the usual skill range that I play vs. I like the matchmaking change in theory but it handed me a tough hand today.
Going at it again tomorrow!
