Many foreign teams did that. I know eSahara have something like that going on and i recall some others team doing it although i can't remember which one exactly

Pretty cool event for korean, foreigners don't stand a chance. Someone from code B / A will probably end up winning.

Notables under the 700p marker at the moment:

Hack 690
Hyun 671
Hero 667
Idra 653
Gumiho 651
Losira 644
Naniwa 631
San 578

Honourable mention: Mvp 732, Moonglade 715.

As you can see, Slayers aren't messing around with 700. There are still days remaining so it will be slightly easier, but not that much.

i think he meant more along the lines of major teams (though esahara is good they're nowhere near mouz/liquid/eg/empire/millennium/col/etc)

honestly from the major teams i want to see eg do this the most their team feels so bought with very little in the way of up and coming players

edit:

HOLY SHIT! 700 NA is ez mode (hovering between 650 and 800 for a while depending on winning/losing streak) had no idea that KR 700 was that difficult that's ridiculous....damn i am very impressed now that i know how serious that is

This is cool! Courage and the draft in BW was a cool thing so I hope for more draft/tryout tournaments held by proteams like this. It makes the good people that ain't progamers yet have something to actually play for and look forward to!

Cherry picking so much... most of those players haven't played significant number of games / have extra bonus pool / offrace.

Stephano needs to win this, just to turn it down and leave it all for university. I like epic things and that would make it more epic.

It's probably to discover domestic talent that has gone unnoticed as of yet. I doubt foreigners that aren't already on teams would make it far, or be willing to pay themselves to get there.

And as it says, they will be picking from the RO8 based on how they play, probably asking them questions and finding out about them as a person. Doesn't say anything about winner joins the team.

I know Fnatic did when they were first starting out, and compLexity is somewhat doing it with their Academy program. I believe one player has been "drafted" from it. (goswser, I believe)
Done with Team Liquid for a while. Don't expect to find me here.
