Today, we have to announce that Welmu is no longer part of team Empire. His contract with our team ended and even the fact that he improved constantly in the near past, could not convince us, that he could keep up with the very best EU players. Therefore we decided, not to extend the contract for any longer.
We hope that Welmu finds a new team very soon and wish him the best of luck on his way. Personally I feel kind of sad to see him go, because we became friends over the past months. However there are always some hard decisions in life and we can not ignore them.
See you soon Welmu, I hope you will find a new home in the near future! Keep it going and best of luck
Welmu Statement:
It was a nice journey to be a member of Empire, but unfortunately we couldn't continue the contract. It wasn't bitter to leave Empire and I hope good future for all Empire guys. Now im off to look for a new team yet again ^_^

Thats too bad, iv liked welmu for a long time. I hope he finds a new team soon!

What race/achievements/etc? Not a lot of information for an op
|

Kinda refreshing to not see roundabout statements about the team and player having different views on the future etc.
Unfortunate for Welmu, I hope he hangs in there and can prove himself in a new team
|
welmu just did pretty well in assembly no? Im guessing a team saw talent and wanted him
|
|
How long was the contract? Can't be much more than some months, that is a bit special?

Good luck to Welmu in the future, I can only imagine he will find a team that will suit him. One of the most innovative and creative protosses I have ever played against.
|
Hmm this is right after Welmu got out of his groups at Assembly right? Not the biggest achievement, but it looks like he might be a bit on the rise. On top of that, wasn't Welmu their only protoss? O_O
|
refreshingly honest statement from the team. gl to welmu hes good but empire has some of the very best
|
He was the only one from Empire that passed group stage at Assembly.

My thoughts exactly.
Good luck to both empire and Welmu in the future.

i knew about that topic, but felt like its just fair for welmu and our team to put up an official statement and not only a single twitter quote
|
Aw well at least he still cool and all, gl welmu !
|
a bit surprised that a team is so open in basically stating "he is not good enough for us anymore". refreshingly honest, but also brutally so. Welmu is still a great player i wish him the ebst
|
LOVE the honesty of Empire. I prefer this refreshingly frank take on the situation about a billion times more than "derp different vision of future, difference of opinion, derppp".
<3 Empire even more now. GL Welmu.

So, that's second player out of Empire in the last two weeks? Kas's contract also expired, no?

Why? Even if that were the case, who would you rather have on your team: viOlet or Welmu? Easy answer. (No disrespect to Welmu.)

If foreign teams buy koreans and fire foreign players then the foreign players will have it much harder to keep up with the koreans.

Mmm I didn't know much about Welmu actually, but it's nice to see Empire being honest. gl on finding a new team Welmu~

its pretty hard for a protoss player to join a good team, question how many "top" protoss players in eu?
