A TV station doesn't make money solely off viewers they support themselves fully off of advertisement money, why are tournaments like MLG not being supported off advertisement money? Is it because it's not popular enough? I'm not even talking about stream ad revenue, I am litterally talking about a company paying X amount of money to advertise during MLG almost like commercials work on TV. How is this not working and PPV is the only choice? seems strange. Can you block commercials on TV stations? No. Can you block commercials on internet streams? Yes. Does majority of people block those commercials? Yes. Also, how much people is watching TV shows and how much is watching MLG? Lets take average show like HIMYM or TBBT, few million people are watching it. MLG? 100k at peak? And btw, I would rather pay 20 USD to watch without commercials, then watch wuth commercials for free...

How is the scene going to grow when Most of the held tournaments in NA by MLG are going to be restricted access so that seems counter intuitive. Noons outside of SC2 is going to Pay for that and or find about it because it's PPV. Way Less exposure of SC2 is hurtfulI think and the whole thing is counterintuitive

If you think that those 2 less free tournaments is going to break MLG's income from growth vs self sustainability from PPV events, you seriously need to think again.

It's a lot easier being in the armchair as Jason put it. I have no idea what MLG's expenses are other than what we're told so I really couldn't tell you much of anything. I can only give you constructive criticism from what I see.

Not sure if this is a bug or not. I did not get to watch this MLG event Friday (working) or Saturday (sleeping) and today I've watched most of the "final 6" games for free. I've just consistently loaded up multiple tabs of streams from the MLG website and then going to twitch.tv and searching MLG. I would try to open them up at the same time so maybe it would bug out, and I don't know if MLG set some of the streams to free or not for trial views or not. Maybe because I opened like 3-4 at the same time it would go through on one of them... However I've been watching a lot of games all day for free by just constantly opening new pages when one craps out. By crapping out I mean getting the "pay 20 bucks screen." I wasn't trying to steal or anything. To be honest I was totally down to pay 10 bucks just for the 6 hours today but no response from MLG's twitter or anything. Not sure if this is a bug or intended. However somehow I was able to sneak through. I watched all of the DRG-Parting extended series. Now all of DRG-HuK. Some DRG-Oz. EDIT: and in addition I was a former silver member last year and gold this year. So maybe they are giving me some access on the final day? Not sure but they're still getting money from me so ![]()

Like I said in the LR thread that means very little to me until we see the actual buyrate. It could mean anything.
