Almost nobody uses rabbit ears anymore, which means that you are paying for your TV. I imagine this has to be coming from people who's parents pay for their TV, because its incomprehensible to think that anything on TV is free when the cable bill comes every month.

Paying for cable would be comparable to paying for your internet connection. Whereas paying to watch a channel would be comparable to ppv

Instead of tournaments broadcasting scattered all over the place, they should join forces in an Esports 'TV channel'.

It's like saying it doesnt make sense to pay 250.000$ for a sports car that can only have 2 people in it and uses up gas like water through a sewerline. It might be more about not running events every week, striving to put up a high quality event with absolutely the best korean and non korean players. It could be that they use price as an instrument to create exclusivity and stand out from the rest. It is a bit of a shot in the dark, but hey if these arena turn out to be great, all the love for them and their pricing. Keep in mind that if these events are brought up to a new level, we will also benefit from it.

With material like this in hand, you really have to wonder who MLG employes handling marketing and PR. Instead of talking about the many streams or the dire straits of the esport economy, why not remind people how engaging watching MLG can be? How much fun it was! (well, I'm not thinking crowd-shots here..) What a complete clusterfuck this last week has been.

Lol who is gonna charge you if you put a satelite dish and some antenna in your back yard to pick up the signal? Lots of tv is 100% free. Now that the tournament is nearing this ppv thing is pissing me of more and more. Mlg is realy an awesome tournament to watch and the idea of having to miss this does not make me happy at all. Maybe sundance can give us an oversight of the complete budget including all costs and expenses and all revenus. Then we can see that our monney is realy well spend and that this is realy needed, and i will be more then happy to sugest several cuts, as well as ways to increase revenu ^^ (why this has no live audience??? i love live audience with tournaments, it ads so much) Was wondering if the other games on mlg arena are also ppv or if its only sc that they are trying to monetise. My guess is that the tournament can live on its own and make a small profit without ppv. They make the tournament alot more epensive by doing things that thoose who ultimately have to pay for it (we the vieuwers now) never asked for and probably dont even want. They charge not because they have to, but because they feel they can. meh i gonna miss watching it ![]()

Prices are what they are, if you cant afford them you cant have them. No one is entitled to free stuff. this is a special qualifier and the championship in columbus is still free so I dont know why there are so many complaints. Comparing luxury cars to streams. Comparing high end CPUs to streams. Earlier you said that we shouldn't compare GSL and MLG, as GSL had less content which i proved was bs. Maybe you should spend a minute or two to think about what you've written before you click that Post-button.

It's difficult to say whether it can be supported by ad revenue or not since we don't have any numbers. It's all just a guessing game and for all we know events can run a lot more efficient than they do now and run a profit on ads
