People need to stop comparing this to Gom and Gsl. Yes Gom is 60 for a year but they stretch those games out. in one month of Gsl you will see about 1 weekends worth of games that Mlg does maybe less in fact. So this Gsl gives us so much stuff needs to end. Don't get me wrong i love the Gsl and i gladly open my wallet for them but the amount of content you will be getting is equal to what Mlg is putting out, Gom just stretches it and makes it last longer.

We will see the outcome of this high price point once the event is over. The numbers will speak... I'm pretty sure there's a lot of you who are complaining but will buy the ticket anyways. Make sure you let MLG know that the price is too high while still supporting eSports. While I can afford to pay for this event, I just won't be paying for it because it'll be during my bachelor party.. Think my friends will kill me if I ended up watching winter arena in Vegas? :D Booze, Gambling, and some 2 rax builds.. mmm I felt it was to high so I'm not paying. Not high in a absolute sense. I live in Vegas and play poker every other night. Won 3-6K & have lost 3-6K in one night so $20 aint no thing but from a relative value perspective it is. GSL offer a lot more for less, not to mention FREE tournaments. $5-$10 would have been better representative of their value IMO.

The first post says 20 hours of live gameplay out of this weekend. I'm pretty sure GSL shows alot more than 20 hours of games in a month. Edit: I actually added up the GSL matches played between jan 9th and jan 31st and it's a little over 30 hours of content. The GSL was on a christmas break so that's in only three weeks, content/cost ratio is a shitload higher for the GSL. Spare me the "but i prefer MLG", this post is only about how much content is provided for your money.

GOM play at most 2 games at the same time. MLG last year had so many game running parallel viewers had to choose based solely on WHO was playing. Good luck to them getting viewers now with more than 50% of this community alone boycotting it.

So sorry MLG I just honestly can't afford to pay double the price of all your competitors no matter how awesome your line up of players is =(

I firmly believe that Blizzard killed prospect of SC2 as sustainable e-sport with his anti piracy policy and no LAN. Every pirate could eventually become paying customer or at least active follower. I had a lot of friends in my BW era who did not play the game except for lan parties and followed me - random average player - on tournaments i used to play. It have been long ago before high quality streaming was accesible. In SC2 they lost this huge casual fan base who likes to watch more than to play. They cut them off before they discovered SC2. MLG simply realized their costs cant be covered by Ads - viewer dependant - which Blizzard forced to shrink. So instead of cutting their cost enough or changing model and winners prices dramatically they try to milk few remaining " i will save e-sports" lunatics. I dont care if esports die becouse frankly due to greed it deserves to die. Why should we keep alive esport which never expanded enough due to short-sighted companies. Make b.net 0.2 social, add LAN, expand community to 10 times the size it is today.. then you can blame us for not supporting e-sports enough.

Holy shit is that ever hard to come by. And now that it's come along I'm praying enough people get it to make it worthwhile for MLG. for someone dying for such an event, you sure seem ignorant of what's going on in the GSL on SOTG. even if it comes from some foreigner bias, you can't blame the tournament for the "superstar foreigners" bombing out in the first round.

He did also include "scheduled at times convenient for my timezone" and GSL is not convenient for a US audience. and it shouldn't be, its not a US event, But That to a lot of people is a big thing. GSL for me comes on at 4am.

I probably still wouldn't buy the pass, because it's a lot of money for me, but my view of MLG wouldn't have been affected so negatively. If they didn't screw so much up, I probably would have given them money in the future. Now I definitely won't.

Lets be honest people, I am a "poor college student" but most of us can afford it if we want. I dont have a ton of money, but instead of going out as much, I could stay in an extra night. I'm sure there are people who truly can't afford it. But for most of us I think its more of a priority thing. I don't blame anybody for saying that you don't believe its worth the price and aren't going to buy it, but I believe a lot of us are using the lack of money as an excuse. I'm still undecided on if I will buy it, but if I don't it won't be because the money isn't there, or their price is $10 above what I say I would be willing to pay. It will be because I don't think it's worth it.

"Hmmm have you considered this...you are in Europe so the majority of matches are in the middle of the night so watching live wont be viable. Plus very few Elite Europeans are actually attending." Pfftttttttt the Koreans are there in force though and they have VODs right? "Yes VOD's will be available" Cool then getting the PPV is a no brainer yay!... "umm if you wait a few more days you can watch them for free!".... hmmmm.....I need my Starcraft 2 fix that weekend though... "Ummm Assembly is streaming..(Free I might add!)." ~ Stomps foot~. I pay for Starcraft 2 already ..IPL, NASL, GSL and previous MLG's, so no biggie. "Yes but comparitevly its twice (or more) as expensive as say GSL or IPL. Even if you can afford it do you like purchasing products that are overpriced in order to line the pockets of richer individuals?" Welll its still only 10$ over priced...GLS and IPL were great an all but their live audiences are not like MLG. If you watch a LAN then MLG rocks. Remember the atmosphere at Providence? "ummm there is no audience." WTF!! they are flying everyone thousands of miles and yet no audience will be there? you are having a laugh right? "Nope" Still there is Day9, he makes up for that...he will do his Fusion Core improv and thats worth 20 bucks right? "ummm..Don't want to break this to you but Day9 is not attending either" kk I hate you Mr Common Sense! you are killing eSports!
