I was looking through all these "Why X Team Will Win GSTL" threads and I was shocked to not see the favorites, SlayerS among these. Why are they the favorites you ask? Well, a few reasons.
The Terran Line
SlayerS has the -best- line of Terran in the world. Their terran line is the deepest in the world, and has some of the most skilled players on it. They put together some of the revolutionizing builds in the match up every time they think about.
You know him. You fear him. The Original Bonjwa. The most famous man in ESPORTS. Lim Yo Hwan.
But you might say, he's washed up! He substitutes skill with cheese!
Wake up. The Emperor made it back to Code S last season. He's played lategame, and yes, he's won early game. But he will serve as well as any when it comes to filling the role of a sniper, espeacially in his best match up of TvT.
MMA, is the best, or second best terran in the world. He bested MVP in TvT twice in their last two series. He has the BEST TvZ in the world, with an 80% winrate in the match up. And he's hot off his win at the Blizz Cup, besting DRG in the finals.
He is the best Ace any team could ask for.
Ryung, so often overlooked because of MMA, on any other team could be an ace terran. His TvT skills cannot be underestimated, and it's rumored he helped MMA engineer the builds that beat MVP twice. Fear him for his sc2 skills, and his photoshop skills, because Ryung is coming for you.
If it weren't for MMA, we would all hear regularly about how Ganzi has one of the top 4 TvZs in the world. But like Ryung, his skills are often underestimated when compared with his team captain. That's no real reason to overlook him however - he boasts over a 70% winrate against zerg.
And if this fearsome four wasn't enough, the terran line goes even deeper. SlayerS is also the new home to Clide, the best player in the world, and Taeja, the best player in the Korean Weekly. Expect to see Clide being sent out as a solid all around player, and Taeja being used to snipe protoss.
SlayerS' terran line alone is scary enough. But guess what? Their protoss are some of the best in the world.
People thought he was gone to Code B, never to return. Every day Alicia is proving them wrong, reminding everyone that he was the one who beat MC in PvP when MC couldn't be beaten, it was he that knocked MKP down to Code A, he that invented and then perfected the VR Contain and allin in PvT. He's back, and he's ready to charge his laser.
Puzzle, along with Oz, Hero, Parting and a handful of other Protoss, is a member of the new generation of Protoss. Up and comers, they all show promise, but none (save maybe Oz) show more than Puzzle. This guy has been all killing teams since December of last year, and he won Code A. Expect him to be a solid all around player for Slayers.
Slayers is also home to Brown, another of the New Generation of Protoss, who beat Losira to get into Code S with tremendous understanding of the PvZ late game. He'll be back, no worries.
The Zerg Line
CoCa, Min, Yugioh, and Cella
Although the weakest line of SlayerS, these four would be welcome additions on any team. CoCa, in particular showed promise, and with Jessica hinting that it may be time for his come back soon, we could very quickly see the SlayerS zerg line become as fearsome as their terran line.
Who can stand in opposition to SlayerS? They have a sniper for every race they need, hell, they have five players who have above a 60% winrate vZ, four with above 60% vT, and 2 vP. They have the reigning Blizzcup champ, MMA. And they have the Emperor.
Oh man are we going to have a thread for each team now. >.< If anything I at least hope that one is made for a team like FXO who not many people would consider on first thought, but is looking very strong this time around.
i wasnt aware that mma had such a high win rate in TvZ. one thing i cant wait for is to see who will be the anchor player in GSTL. maybe we will see another realtively unknown slayers player rise just as MMA did through reverse all-killing!

Brown is a smart bet for that roll imo. Also Ganzi, they seem to have a lot of faith in him!

You forgot Taeja and you forgot Brown... Two really important people to forget IMO. Also don't count out min, or meok (or minseok, can't remember tbh). Those are people that i don't think you can overlook. GL with this !

Most of MMA's wins though are against players like DRG, Nestea and Leenock. If you wiegh it by the caliber of opponents I think MMA would come out ahead. Happy is damn good, but much less proven.
And for the love of god, give us back Coca! It was one game thrown, that didn't decide a series and in the first round. I think he's learned his lesson. Hell, bumping him down to Code A would have taught him.
With Coca back though SlayerS basically has an ultimate nigh-guaranteed kill sniper for each race: Coca for vP, MMA for vZ.
As for vT? They have the majority of the best Terrans in the world IMO, anyone on the entire team could be crafted into a vT specialist.
I added you to my OP so everyone can see your opinion. I mean, it's wrong and FXO is going to win, but I appreciated that you did this. Get hype for GSTL everyone! Nice thread, well organized.

Yeah between Leenock, Gumiho, and TheBest, I don't see FXO losing
You should also mention that slayers never seems to have internal strife. from group selections and interviews and everything you get the sense that slayers are a family, complete with sibling rivalries with players. the fact that they are so together, makes them WANT to win for eachother more so than any other team, who are often out for personal glory. super save and all.

He is the emperor the being revered by all. And he symbolizes everything eSports was is and will be. This man one who walks closest to god at this very moment. His rule is the mandate of heavens and cannot be denied for he is SlayerSBoxeR. MMA The emperor's Flag bearer. Bound by Oath to be his second brother in arms. Standing firm as the trump card that defends the SlayerS banner and herald the might of the Emperor. I recall during the battle of GSTL when SlayerS was up against IM, the strong general of their side, MvP has cut down many of the Emperor's generals. The emperor asked his knights "How can we confront such a mighty foe?" It was MMA that answered "Fear not my brother, I shall face him in combat and it is then that I will present you the championship title when I cut him down." And that was indeed what MMA has done. Incredible to everyone's eyes MvP fell at the feet of MMA. It was then that MMA started to carry the title of the Legend Killer. Ganzi The third brother in the circle. When he spawns on to the map. Lightning flashes across the sky striking his enemies into fear. I've personally had the opportunity to be put up against this man, He is to be feared, marching into battle boasting the strongest SlayerS TvZ. Ganzi is the third decisive member of this brotherhood.
Together these three men rode across the battle field in their mighty Razer equipment steeds and tried to shape themselves their own nation.
It was not enough. It was then BoxeR heard a rumor. There were 2 wise strategists out there. One named TheWind the other was Cella hailing from Werra, obtain one and you may conqueror the entire eSports scene. BoxeR personally visited Cella twice to appeal to him so that he may join the Emperor's ranks but it was no avail, Cella wasn't around, It wasn't until the third time he visited that He was finally able to meet Cella in person. The emperor's Charisma cannot be denied. With Cella at the Emperor's side the SlayerS now is the strongest team that was ever built. Crowned Best Coach twice and selected to be the Korea vs World Coach for Korea and leading them to absolute victory. This man is the Zhuge Liang of our times.
These aren't all that SlayerS has to offer. Ryung also know as MMA's little brother, though been shadowed by MMA's mighty prowess in combat, he strength is not to be denied. rumor has it (false) he has fought 50 progamers one after another in the battle of Chang-ban in order to rescue SlayerS Jessica and the Emperor's daughter (non-existent).
Then there is Alicia, the Protoss warrior that equated to the word fear. To the Terran player of those days. A favorite of Artosis, this Protoss has crossed blades with the mighty MC and defeated him in a best of 3. This mighty protoss executor cannot be denied. He is usually the vanguard put first in the line of fire. Yet to this day he fights on.
SlayerSEve so little is known about the daughter of the Emperor and Empress, and that's exactly what makes her so dangerous. She's a mystery card that might turn out to be a secret weapon that SlayerS has prepared for the enemies they may encounter. She also makes great material for my fanfictions. MMAxEve forever!
SlayerSJessica it's not always the men on the frontlines that makes the difference. What happens home counts. and this team mother has nurtured the team into a band of righteous and powerful fighters, not through strict discipline or punishment but the nourishment of motherly love.
This combination is certainly guarantee SlayerS victory!
TAEJA WTF! Slayers has the much insane depth, there's outrageous so many outrageous gosus who could be or have been code S champs that you forget some of them. Slayers just has to win this season of GSTL, so sick.
Slayers wont win. STARTALE will win. They have a super solid lineup and I truly believe in them. If I had time I would make one of these threads for them but I really don't.

I think it was Ganzi, but I could be wrong, who said he was hoping for MMA's plane back from IEM Kiev crashed and he died in an interview.

Seriously, I don't even know why other teams have pages saying that they will win the GSTL. SlayerS is most definitely the best team in the world right now. I will be really really surprised if they lose as they have the most fearsome Terran lineup in the game.

I'd certainly like to see SlayerS do well this season. MMA, Ryung, Ganzi, Taeja, Coca, YuGiOh, Golden, Min, Alicia, Brown, Soccer and The Emperor, overseeing it all... What a team! Holy Check!

Come on now, let's not derail the thread. I hope Slayers crushes through all competition in their way. I'm a bit torn now that Boxer is a playing coach, because I fear it could be the start of his transition from progaming. But I also know that the man is a tactical genius and a great leader (SKT1 anyone?) and should really motivate his team.
I love these hype threads and I love the GSTL. I'm so torn on who will win. Slayers, IM, FXO and MVP all have a decent chance at winning. So long as the GSTL only happens at the end of every month or so I think it will continue to be exciting
