Read through the thread a bit, it has been discussed to death. And if after reading the thread you want another opinion, go watch Inside the Game episode 100, where SirScoots talks about what sponsors are looking for.

One of the main things about Incontrol is his huge personality, something that allows him to get the EG brand around. Secondly, he is the team captain, and works on other things for the team in addition to his duties as a job.

Well everyone else in this thread seems to know who they are so it sounds like you might not be caught up with the SC2 scene.

Well here is where you see the difference between TL and EG.
EG is more focussed on return on investment on their players while TL cares more about the image they send. Both are fine, just different.

Well, what's the point having a training house in US anyway.

Everyone decent enough to try pro should be in Korea.

I guess from Incontrol's twitter it looks like Axslav already found a Team, but not StrifeCro

I just gotta say as a longtime huge EG fan I would much rather cheer for/follow a NA player like Axlav or Strifecro than some random korean who is unquestionably better. Puma or JYP despite being an EG I feel no more interest in than any other korean player. I do follow the korean scene and watch GSL but I allways have sort of picked favorites there based on playstyle and stuff. Personality matters to but tbh neither of those have any personality.

Also as far as I can tell its not like EG kicked them. Their contracts were up and I am pretty sure EG was willing to resign just Axlav and Strifecro were not content with the offer made to them. Which is fine.

Still, its too bad and I will miss them. Ironically enough my EG mousepad with all their signatures was missing Axlav\Strife anyways because they were not at MLGOrlando. lol

Oh no axslav, my favorite rts player!

By the way, I'm sorry if that's been said but these guys weren't receiving a salary, and were in fact contributing to the rent.

It's the start of the year, contracts are ending, maybe LZ & Machine are being released to their annual contract hasn't ended yet?

It's kind of frustrating to see people say
"Noo they must keep LZ he is pretty"
"They were great guys to hang around how could they kick them off the team"

Get real guys, this is a business for your information their looks and personalities are juxtaposed greatly to their skill and results and Strife/LZ/Machine have not done well in whats essential to be part of EG. EG's lineup is beginning to look pretty solid (HuK,IdrA,JYP,PuMa,DeMuSliM) the one thing I disagree with is releasing Axslav, I feel he was on the same terms as Demuslim in terms of progression they both have great potential and when they show their A-game are definetly capable of competing with the top foreigners at least.
There is a theory which states, that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly dissapear and be replaced by something even more inexplicable. There is another theory that this has already happened.

Maybe it was more because EG wasn't satisfied with the quality or quantity of practice these two were putting in at the team house rather than a lack of results.

Still, booting Axslav and keeping.... some of the other players that have been mentioned not to throw anyone under the bus specifically, seems like a strange move. The dude is a better player than a lot of the folks who are still on the team.

I saw this coming as unfortunate as it seems they haven't won much as of late. I do have respect for these players though and hope they find a good team as a replacement and are able to continue their career as starcraft 2 players and re-gain the interests of popular teams.

Don't think you can really compare. All players on TL have been huge at one time or another. Even if some didn't do that well recently, all of them have a huge amount of followers. Axslav and Strifecro passed under the radar of a lot of people, even those actually following actively SC2. They didn't have a lot of appearences and even when they did, they had a hard time garnering attention, especially in comparison to the more skilled EG Members Idra and Huk or the vocal Incontrol. It costs a boatload of money to fly players to the events. With the addition of the Korean Players Puma and JYP it becomes kinda hard for EG to ever justify flying Axslav or Strifecrow to any event instead of the former.
So while I'm kinda sorry for them, I believe this may in the end be the best thing for both EG and the players in the long term.
A less stacked team might give them the opportunity to show more of themselves and step out of EGs A-lineup shadow.

Good luck to them anyway.

yeah im surprised LZ was kept for strifecro (no offense) but having watched them stream and played both of them on ladder I feel like strifecro was more tactical and strategically in depth player. LZgamer and his play even since the early days of 5RR has always been quirky that I havent been a fan with =/

Hopefully opens up some opportunities to some better and more deserving players.
