Because it conflicts with the belief that children should be had after marriage. Flame war incoming. Euros vs Americans. User was warned for this post

As someone said before, time and place for everything. You don't go into happy threads bringing the misery, especially when that thread is about one of the most beloved people in SC2.

Unpopular opinion and "Time and place" are lame excuses for the ban. Really excessive. Aria is such a beautiful name!

In short: to me the word "girlfriend" implies a relatively low level of commitment to a relationship--not that the two people involved don't love each other or plan to stay with each other, but that they haven't pledged themselves to this--whereas having a child together calls (in my opinion) for a higher level of commitment. Call it "marriage" if you like, call it "partnership" if you prefer, but call it something that reflects that commitment. More specifically, On January 15 2012 17:39 SpinmovE wrote: he could call her his fiancée.What should he call her if not his girlfriend? In any case I don't think that posting an unpopular opinion should be grounds for banning (and I don't think that the original post that sparked all this was unduly disrespectful), but that's yet another subject. I realize that there could be more to say about these subjects on either side, but I don't think I ought to post about them again in this thread; if anyone wants to continue either discussion, feel free to create a new thread in the General forum and I'd be happy to defend my position further. Congratulations to Artosis and girlfriend, and here's hoping that the two of you cement your relationship and live happily ever after! ![]()
