It's obvious this is not a PR decision, as it's not exactly getting the most pleasing comments. CheckSix is not in this for the short-term; we do not make decisions ever based on a short-term result. We just think that Juan is a good player, that deserves another chance. If he ruins that chance, you guys will be the first to point it out I am sure. Very reasonable and very well said.
You're getting a little good PR out of this. I for one think more highly of CheckSix after reading the post that I just quoted. A lot of people on the internet are pretty quick to judge, and I bet most of them have made their own mistakes in the past...

yup, people is always quick o judge, I dont know If he'll stay here for his entire life, what I see here is very good oportunity for both, Juan and CheckSix. I don't know how far it will go but I would love to see juan going to MLG and GSL, enough said

Sick pick up for check six.
Can't wait to see Maj0r at MLG providence after his time in Korea.

He's a dedicated player, and i feel like his last team appeared to be messing him around with their intentions. Hopefully things can be right now.
Why so many people have a personal opinion on him in every thread i don't know... guys who weren't around back when he was gost[terran] just turning up and giving their thoughts and joining the bandwagon.

We just think that Juan is a good player, that deserves another chance. If he ruins that chance, you guys will be the first to point it out I am sure. This is team #4 by my count (ROOT, Sixjax, TSL [supposedly] and now x6). Whether you're new to this or not, it's still a decision that is going to be magnified due to his past dating back to BW where he had a tendency to clan-hop and basically try and play by his own rules. The fact that you didn't expect a backlash of any kind is slightly shocking - he's an extremely controversial player, and unlike Idra or some other players who make a lot of noise, he doesn't have a lot of notable results to back up his attitude. He was never on TSL. That is 2 teams in SC2, if you don't count CheckSix. edit- and as others have pointed out both teams have since dissolved, so even had he stayed on both sinking ships till the end he'd still be in the position he is now. That doesn't excuse his immature behavior. Frankly I think that tournaments need to be more strict on players who act in poorly mannered ways, whether it's taking a game away from them or something else, there's really no excuse for it.

Kinda disappointed by this.. So Major leaves Sixjax in order to join Checksix?... Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade, but maybe someone can tell me otherwise. I expected him to join a more proven team.

Major didn't leave, Sixjax released him. Check-Six is more well known in the gaming community than Sixjax and they're more financially stable.

W/e GOOD LUCK MAJOR!!!

Best of luck to Juan, really felt bad for him with that disappointing Blizzcon Performance though.
|
Best of luck to Windy!
I hope he sticks to a nickname and use them in battle.net because with so many aka's just mess up with the general organization of tournaments.
Blizzard, we need nick changes for free... this ain't wow, people do actually change teams frequently.

Can we get a liquibet on how long he stays part of the team?

You can still get a free name change if you wish... just have to email some blizzard representative and they are usually alright doing it for you for a valid reason (changing teams, find your name offensive, etc..)

GL Juan. Hope your wishes ARE granted and you ARE able to continue practicing in Korea.
