I don't mind TvT, as long as it has great TvT players like MMA MVP Bomber Ryung Ganzi etc. I take it you did not watch the ganzi vs supernova match yesterday.

Where does that even originate? He seems mannered, is probably the best player in the world atm and hardly cheeses and so on. I dislike him because his style is so standard and he really doesn't make you want to root for him. That's just my opinion but a lot of people share it with me. Idk there is something more than skill that comes when rooting for a player, you need personality, emotion, and a storyline. In MVP's case he is like a bad tyrant and everyone wants their underdog rebel to overthrow him... Take MarineKing, MMA, and even Boxer for example. They may not have as many titles as MVP, but they all show unique play and are really neat innovators making you want to root for them so you can see them happy. So you dislike him for being so solidly good. Makes sense I guess. I can't tell if your being sarcastic because sarcasm doesn't translate well in text. But yea that is exactly why I don't like MVP. He really doesn't get involved in the community and doesn't have much of a style other than safe, macro, and standard. Sure that is good to watch and say that this is how you play Terran. But as a fan I would much rather see someone who goes outside of the box and really shows his personality and style. It is more entertaining imo. Not saying that MVP isn't good he just doesn't excite me that much when he plays. I don't know what you're talking about. in all his series against Nestea he did an all-in, he even was the first Terran to bunker block the natural on belshir beach. he is always doing something incredible, his play is amazing, I really don't know how can you not see it. I acknowledge that he is an amazing player if not the best in the world. But for me I just don't like the way he plays. It's not mind blowing like watching MMA's multitasking or MarineKing's micro. It's just a guy doing text book builds, which can still call for the occasional all in, which is why I find MVP games rather dull. And the game on bel shir beach was just a standard bunker block lol... Nestea just did a really bad job defending. Except he has better multitasking than MMA, and better micro than MarineKing, and better macro than everyone. On October 12 2011 14:55 Lokian wrote:

He's voicing out for players who might not get a chance to, and you're misinterpreting it and using it as an exuse to him. My god the hypocrisy these days. If MVP got a problem with that, he should take it to gomTV not the media. why the hell would he de-value a tournament in which he was invited to win thousands of dollars. high chair much? just cuz his friends didn't get a slot doesn't mean he has to take it out on the people that made it even possible.
He isn't devaluing anything. All you're trying to do is extract drama out of nothing.

Ganzi compared MVP to Flash! Mind. Blown.

MVP is disliked in Korea because of his game against CreatorPrime (a middle schooler), not because he's a Terran. He got beaten by CreatorPrime, so in the next game when MVP got ahead he drew out the game for a long time so he could use nukes to embarrass Creator. Ever since then he's been known as Jung Jol Lyul instead of Jung Jong Hyun. Jol Lyul means something along the lines of shameful.

Sorry I got it mixed up with the other Prime middle schooler. It was actually Creator.

I think that it may have been creatorprime. I recall him nuking him. MVP is one of my favorite players even if I am a zerg :D

I'll never understand people who say MVP's style is boring. True maybe he doesn't always play a flashy style, but he's one of the very few terrans that consistently shows innovative strategies in his GSL matches. For example, how about that game against Ryung in the GSTL where he made a quick battlecruiser switch--the first time battlecruisers were seriously used in the GSL? Or how about the crazy thor and ghost drop he pulled off against TOP where he nuked his entire base?

If the game was so over that he could use nukes to kill him shouldn't it be creators fault for not leaving the game?

I always got the impression that having your player from your races beaten by MVP is considered an alright thing. Something like, oh well it's mvp , he is the better player and would probably still have beaten his opponent regardless of races.
I'm a Zerg fanboy through and through, but I love MVP. I hope he takes this GSL and shows us awesome games in the Blizzcon finals

It will be tough whoever advances. But I'm still confident I can beat either of them (laughs). Lol Woongjin terrans taking 2 of the top 4 and 3 of the top 8. Crazy world we live in. Imagine what SKT zergs could do to the scene. Isn't it obvious? Hyuk would be bonjwa.
But no because BW is keeping him thx

Wtf? Can we possibly get someone who is able to get in contact with MVP to tell him he is a very well loved and respected player? D: Why does he think he doesn't have a lot of fans? :'(

That has little impact. It's often that players can play badly and then raise their game. People remember aLive for his atrocious games against Darkforce but in the Ro32 groups, he totally schooled a top player like TOP. Additionally in the previous OSL, Fantasy played pretty badly against Calm but he completely rolled the favourite Stork to win.
Ganzi wasn't able to practise properly so it's obvious his results would sway. However his pasts results speak for themselves, at the top of his game then he can give MVP a good match

I'm a zerg player, and I really think that MVP is the only terran player who completly deserves his success. His multitask is amazing, I remember a game between him and DRG where he played a perfect marine tank, it felt like a symphony. The only thing that is missing with him is his personnality outside the game, most of the time he is a little bit boring and doesn't do a lot for his fan, but I value his skill way more that this.
|
Anyone notice this little tidbit at the end of Ganzi's interview?
Q: Anything else you want to say? A: A lot of players helped me practice, but I can't mention them all so I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. Slayers_Lots helped but I think I stressed him out a lot. I'm sorry about that (laughs). Also, our team's sponsorship contract is ending soon, but I hope that we can all show good results and get an even better living than currently.
I hope SlayerS doesn't lose their sponsors and get into money troubles.
Also regarding MVP's dominance, I don't know why people enjoy one person dominating the entire scene for a period of time. It just makes things stale.

You can probably tweet him, and he might see. He responded to quite a lot of people yesterday on twitter after his win. I agree by the way, it is a bit disheartening that he said that. If there is any Terran who deserves all of their success, it is certainly MVP. He has proven time and again why he is considered one of the top two players in the world along with Nestea.

Champions always get a lot a bullshit. He should try to listen only to his fans. Ignore the dumbasses.

Did you even watch his games against NesTea? His micro was nowhere near as good as MKP this serie, and other series at best his micro was almost as goid as MKP, not better lol. Weird that he has haters in korea, even if he doesnt have a lot of fans in foreign, nobody hates him and everyone recognizes him as the best player in the world.

Always nice to hear what players were thinking in certain situations of their games. Did not know about the Blizzard Cup changes too. Thanks for the translation and keep up the good work!
