Oh dear god, ForGG + Sc2 Terran. I'm not looking forward to the timings he'll be inventing.

He already is GM and has been GM for a while under the i.d. Fin on the Korea ladder. He has something like a 70%+ win ratio.

wow.. 72% w.r in the korean ladder ... he will only get better from now on.. sure.. I believe in the hype. He should get invited for blizzcon.

This has probably been said before but he started playing a while ago on the account Raptor, he's now Fin and I'm pretty sure he frequents both accounts. He's not suddenly switching over to SC2, he's been playing it casually for a couple of months and AFAIK he started in Diamond..
There are so many people saying "in so and so months he's going to destory blah blah" and they assume he's just starting out when he's already at his prime at this time, joining oGs only means he's ready to compete.

Aw, but why terran, there are already so many good terrans, so he won't stand out as much.
Well, now I tell you, I never seen good come o' goodness yet. Him as strikes first is my fancy; dead men don't bite; them's my views--amen, so be it.

All he has to do is play good, which probably will happen, and he'll stand out!
More important to play what he is good at imo

Nada? July? Boxer?

Yeah, obviously the guy you replied to didn't follow much BW, including the first two bonjwa.

If he meant to say the best BW player switching to SC2 at the time of switching to SC2, he's probably correct.

Boxer and Nada seemed to stop caring about being good at BW by the time they switched to SC2 (in fact, years before that). It wore down on them. Same with July.

lol what? ForGG one of the best BW players? I'd say average.
2010 Record

I never said he was one of the best BW players. I said he was one of the best at the time of switching to SC2. I thought I made that quite clear. lolwut

2010 record. He retired in 2010.

And since that time, he's apparently been playing SC2 "secretly" and has been tearing up the Korean ladder quite handily.

It's only now that he sees he knows the game well enough to come out in public.

--;.

You said he's the best BW player when he retired.
His record says otherwise.

And now you're talking about SC2.

Uh no. I didn't say he was the best BW player when he retired. Is English even your first language, or are you trolling? You're truly ignorant if you've never heard of players like Flash, Jaedong, Jangbi, Bisu, Stork, Fantasy, etc.
I said among the players who SWITCHED TO SC2, he was one of the best at the time the player switched. Last I checked, Flash did not switch to SC2, so stop implying such idiocy. Meaning when ForGG retired from BW and switched to SC2, he was a pretty decent A-team player. Not more than a couple current SC2 can lay claim to that (in fact, I think only MVP can, and if he was decent as an A-team player is questionable. EDIT: MVP even at his best in BW was not even close to ForGG in 2010), as by 2010, even players like Boxer, Nada, July, had already been dried up for years. Learn to read.

"ForGG is still a strong BW player even now, which easily makes him one of the best BW players to switch to SC2 AT THE TIME of switching, as opposed to 5-10 years before switching (eg. Boxer, Nada)."

implying he was one of the best at the time of switching.

you seem to be taking your own words of context.

He's saying that of all the BW players who switched, forGG was the best when they switched. Which is true.

This makes me wonder how many other bw pro's are playing in the dark, waiting for the day they're ready to officially announce their transition.

Forgg's style will lead to a lot of ugly games, so you probably won't see the those type of 'perfect' games you'd see from MVP. He wins a lot of ladder games with that style, but when he comes plays in the GSL that style won't cut it.

Maybe felt he wasn't good enough yet. Or he didn't want to shit on KT fans too soon, after abandoning them half way through the season.

Funny that this coincides with the news of Foo Fighters playing at Blizzcon. Coincidence? I think not.

implying he was one of the best at the time of switching.

you seem to be taking your own words of context.

My point by at the time of switching was to dissuade forum trolls who would say "DURR Boxer was the best player 8 years ago", rather than considering the fact that when Boxer switched to SC2, he was long done with caring about being a top BW player.
Allow me to make this even easier to understand since you have been having trouble with simple comprehension the last 3 times.
When MVP switched to SC2, he was not as good as ForGG when ForGG switched to SC2.

Meaning when MVP switched in Feb-March 2010, let's give him an arbitrary BW skill level 3.
When ForGG switched (which has been since an undetermined time, but he has been tearing up the ladder for a while), by comparison, he'd be a skill level 6 compared to MVP, let's say.

Before this announcement, MVP was often considered the best BW player to switch to SC2 (considered at the time of switching).
Conclusively, since ForGG was several miles above MVP in BW, he is one of the best, if not the best, BW player to switch to SC2 (and to dissuade the forum trolls, this is considered at the time of switching, and not entire career, or Nada would be considered the best player to switch since he is career-wise the best BW player to switch to SC2).

If you still have trouble understanding this after the 4th attempt, I really, really do feel sorry for you.

As tree hugger has already noted,
On September 30 2011 00:33 tree.hugger wrote:

EDIT: Ah, of course there are two bonjwa's playing Sc2. I meant most accomplished and still playing A-team until recently. But of course, I didn't say that at all, so here's the clarification.

Well, gamegene, I pretty much said the same thing as tree hugger. So stop trolling, please. The case is settled.
