I think for a lot of people, eSports aren't really a sustainable occupation. What I assume ends up happening is that people who play competitively have to get a job to survive, then they end up making more working than they ever did playing, and most are content just chilling in high masters playing for fun. Other than being in eSports, or even gaming, for your entire life (which itself isn't much of a plan), there aren't really professions that you can parlay gaming skill into. Think about all of the gamers who forgo university for gaming, in the US, there isn't really enough money in the game, and now that the koreans take it all, most people really can't live off of what they make playing. Then when they finally retire, or quit, they're 26-28 with no college degree, and in America that means McDonalds. | ||
