WARNING: THIS MAY NO LONGER WORK.
EDIT: From the responses, 150 pts for 30 day trial seems to be working. if you purchase 1000 pts, it seems to not give you an option to transfer your mycard points to your battle.net account.
Ghetto solution: but 8 150 pt cards and buy the full version and have 50 worthless points to spare.
Alright, since the announcement that KR + TW servers are going to be merged, I'm sure a lot of you are gonna want to get your hands on a TW account.
The benefits of getting a 30 day pass is that it is a relatively cheap way to test out if the TW/KR server is right for you since it only costs $5.75 instead of the ~$70 for the unlimited usage version (the price is dropping to around $40 on the 14th).
1) Acquire the Taiwanese MyCard Currency through: http://www.offgamers.com/starcraft/starcraft-ii-tw-hk/starcraft-ii-cd-key-c-4183-6056-6057.ogm
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/m6OFY.jpg)
Personally, I created an account and used Paypal. They require you to first verify your email address, then verify through your phone (either by calling or texting). Make sure you complete these two steps after you order and it should take them about 10 minutes to deliver your key to your account/email.
2) Converting your MyCard Currency: https://www.mycard520.com.tw/MyCardStore/Store.aspx
Simply enter your card # and password into the respective fields
![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/2lK9C.jpg)
Ok, so here's where it gets a little tricky since you're basically looking at a bunch of chinese characters.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/4ogyA.png)
You're looking to select "戰網卡", the 5th option on the dropdown menu. Make sure you select the right one because this is a one time thing with no refunds.
You'll then be asked to enter your battle.net email. It doesnt matter if its your US or EU account as it will work with any region.
3) You'll get an email from the MyCard website with your bnet compatible point code.
It's now time to log into your battle.net account.
Just go to "Games + Codes" and select "Buy Digital Games"
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/DOVnT.png)
From there, you're gonna want to change the region to Taiwan:
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Eeg0D.png)
Once you've changed your region to TW, select the "account balance" dropdown and hit the "recharge account" button. It can be found here:
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Sa7NF.png)
Open the email that you got from "mycard" for your converted key. Enter it in the space provided and viola! 150 points will be added to your account.
Now go back to digital games and make sure you're still in the "taiwan" region.Select "Starcraft II" and you should be get a dropdown that allows you to select either the 30 day trial or a permanent version of the game. Select the 30 day trial and you should be golden.
Congrats. You can either now download the TW client or use the relocalizer to get destroyed by koreans on the 19th.
Special thanks to furymonkey and Eleaven!

I realized that some parts of the guide are pretty idiot proof and theres some parts that are somewhat vague. Sorry about that, I should have taken SS's as I was actually completing the process rather than going from memory at certain places.
|
Excellent, thanks for this! I will definitely be getting a copy after the 14th!
|
This is awesome! ^__^
Definitely going to share it with friends.

Nice one, should stop any of that panic when faced with a vague serial and no idea what to do with it ^^

Thats a nice idea from blizzard, they can earn a bit of cash from this.

thanks, seemed to of worked so far (waiting on the card to get in my account)... ahh now the hard decisions; to buy 2 of them and stockpile before prices/things change.. and if I should activate it today, so I can start laddering to get my MMR up to masters level ready for the reset on the 18th, and lose ~6 days only playing tw players.. hmmm.

on the reset your TW mmr will be wiped, this next week is pretty much best used for just getting used to the slight lag.
in 2 days time the full game will be nearly 50% off for the TW version, i'll probably be buying that on top of the 30 day i've got now
|
Also high master at NA is around GM at TW, and around mid to high diamond at best at KR

Just how laggy is it? I'm deciding whether I want the 30 day pass or the actual game, if the lag isn't that big I might as well buy the full version.

Do you have confirmation of that?? From what I understand, all the servers merging will have their MMR staying the same (of course, LA grandmaster wont stay GM when merged with US, they will be put down to low master, and same with TW going to low master with KR).. but I find it highly unlikely that if someone played say 1000 games on TW right now, and are GM, to be just dropped down to bronze(new) in MMR without playing a game when the servers merge. They wont be as high as the rankings on TW right now, but they wont be completely reset.
Also, ive been waiting like 20 mins and havent gotten an email from Offgamers.. hm is there something else I have to do after paying in paypal?

so now, i can use my korea client to play tw server right ?

Boy, if only blizzard didn't make it's customers jump through hoops to play cross region >_>

On July 12 2011 18:52 nOondn wrote: so now, i can use my korea client to play tw server right ?
Well.. TW server wont exist, it will just be one bigger Korean server. But yes, you could right NOW, if you used the relocaliser and had a TW account, but im not sure thats what you would want.
|
On July 12 2011 18:52 nOondn wrote: so now, i can use my korea client to play tw server right ? There will be no TW server, KR and TW will be linked together, meaning any KR/TW account will be converted to a KR-TW account. You will be able to play on the mixed server on the 14th
|
So after the 19th we will be able to get on the KR server without needing a KSSN? (I mean we don't need to buy NOW to get on without using some agent to buy for us do we?) If I'm not wrong that is pretty neat.
Pity my ISP has terrible routing to Asia.

is that date correct? i know that on the 14th TW sc2 will go on sale for 1150 instead of 1950, but i'd assumed that the server wouldnt merge until the start of season 3 on the 19th.

So anyone can buy a TW account? Does this mean it will now be ALOT easier for people to play on KR? Or is it only if you have a TW account before they merge?

Remember guys that your game will be in chinese, not in korean and that from europe the delay to korea is pretty terrible to play well.

My game's in english cos i re localised it. Also my sounds are korean using a soundpack you can find on TL.
Don't worry about other people bro, they'll either figure it out, or wont bother, in either case it wont matter to you! (latency is also fine for me and plenty others ;o)

Wow I just realised this is huge for NA players and Casters (NASL for example) that now don't need a Korean Personal Number to get a Client to play on KR

Just considering lag, may I ask where are you playing from Eleaven? Nevertheless, 5,75 is such a small investment that im gonna find out what it's like. If its terrible then it can just drop it.

Is there a timing window for buying this until it becomes more restricted, (need a SS like in Korea?) or can I hop on this anytime after? Probably just try the 30 day pass for lag purposes.

I dont see why you would need a SS for TW edition as the SS in SK is the result of governmental laws iirc.

AFAIK after reading the whole day about this, the situation is as follows:
a) even in TW you do need some kind of an ID to create bnet account... BUT:
b) in this guide you WONT create a new bnet account, but insted, just add the taiwanese game to your pre-existing account (whether it is NA/EU/whatever doesnt matter). This doesn't require any ssid's or anything.
c) even if you would need to create the bnet account itself, the rumour says that you can find a lot of generators online to make yourself an taiwanese ssid. Seems to be pretty easy.
So therefor none of those restrictions apply if you follow this specific guide. Someone correct me if im wrong.

When I try to select the Taiwan regin on the Blizzard site, nothing happens for a while and then an error message comes up. Anyone else having this problem?
|
I would try to get involved in this but I can't imagine not having shitty games because of lag, with NA to EU it's not that noticeable but I can't imagine the frustration from wasting a little money and so much download time to get on and then have bad games. For those who can manage an okay ping rate to TW and KR then you some lucky fools (gime your internet plz!).

Is there some site you can test your ping to Taiwan with that could be a reliable measure of whether you'll have lag on the TW server?
|
I'm curious of that myself I have been wondering for a while how drastically my ping would change if I was connecting to some random place in the world, would be a great tool to know about.

Hm... they removed 戰網卡 from the mycard conversion list. How do we redeem now?

Also when people say TW server, do they mean SEA?
|

No. TW's server was physically located in Seoul along with the KR server, so merging them is easy.
SEA is based in Singapore, so moving it to Seoul or vice versa would screw over a lot of people latency-wise. I think SEA will probably always be separate.
|
If anyone actually plays on KR server currently from the east coast, any way you could post your ping and how bad the latency is so some of us could compare?
I know just doing a speedtest I pinged 250ms. I know I've heard people say roughly 2 sec delay, but curious as to how the ping translates
|
700ms, ah.. for £3.60, not worth it with such incredible ping.

230 ping, playable I guess? I wonder if thats one way or two way (there and back). 1/4 second delay is okay I guess, but 1/2 second delay makes me quite wary.

That's because you are looking at the NA FAQ, and NA people won't be affected. You should read more yourself. The main topic about the linking here in TL explains how NA won't be affected, but people from LA will have their MMR resetted. It is safe to assume TW is the equivalent to LA. This is said to be in the LA Bnet blog.

Anyone have any experience playing from the East Coast or Midwest United States? I pinged 247 on speedtest, that sure as hell doesnt seem very worth it.
|
I'm pinging 300 on the east coast, I'll let people know how it is since I already paid the money for the trial.
|
Confirming worked fine for me this morning (following this guide). Have a 30 day trial of TW sc2.
Now have a TW sc2 account in my bnet account management (along with EU) and have just logged in successfully.
|
Lol, 400+ from eastern Finland. Never thought it would be this high. What kind of pings have people played with (and how painful has it been)?

Awesome im gonna do this when i get home today! Thank you so very uch for the walk through!

Where do you get your mycard password for the gamecard I bought? I suppose the number is the order no., but where do I find my password? Thanks.
Edit: Nevermind, apparently my order got refunded. Did this happen to anyone else? If so, what do I do about it/what is the problem. Now I can't even choose paypal as a method of payment. Screw this, I might just spend the 40 bucks and take my chances. But even then idk.........
|
Latency is very noticeable from USEast on KR. Haven't played much but I can't imagine doing ZvZ zergling/baneling micro. EU is a better choice if you want close to NA latency.
|
Just got done doing my placement matches on TW. I'm in PA, USA and on speedtest.net I ping 300 ms to Seoul. There is a slight delay with each click that's noticeable if you're looking for it. It does make micro difficult but IMO is still worth playing. Others may disagree due to the difficulty of micro. For example stutter step micro is very hard, you can still move back and shoot obviously but you won't be doing it at the fastest pace possible needless to say. FYI I placed into diamond.
EDIT: Not 100% sure if I'm going to buy a full account. I'll have to see how cool it is once the servers are linked. Because it really would just be for teh cool factor, there's certainly no use in buying an account for the purpose of practicing on the korean server due to the lag.

Thanks OP! This is how I went about buying my TW client a few months back, I just never got around to making a guide. I live in Vegas, and don't have too much lag, definitely playable. I'm excited about the merge, and the opportunity to play against Koreans :D

No longer works as mycard has cancled the process of allowing exchange of points for SC2 time fuck them

I paid for the 30 day trial before it went away, the client is stuck at 99%...FML

Is it website maintenance for Taiwan battle.net or something? Can't add the points to my bnet account!
|
OP you have any ideas on what to do? I bought the trial just fine and then bought another card for the full game and can't get it on the list now t.t

You can always purchase points online, from the Taiwan Battlenet. Eliminate the middle man, if you would.
Edit: sorry, the "purchase" link just sends you to other retailers -.- Edit Edit: Mine is still allowing me to punch in time. :/ See you guys on the korean server!

https://warcraft.tw/wtb/wow-transformcard.aspx
should work. You just put in your card number and pass, put in your bnet email, and viola. Hopefully that helps someone
Edit: Important note, I'm not sure if the Bnet email needs to be linked to a TW account or can be used with another, like NA or EU!!! I had a TW account already registered, and used that email, not my NA email, just fyi! Also, I know it says it's for WoW, but it did work for me...not sure if it'll be mixed results though. odd, I just did it right now (although I bought my offgamers key/pass last night) and on the MyCard site, the SC option was still there. Worked for me
I wanted to wait until the 18th to put it in so I have an extra 6 days of use, but with word that it may not work anymore I decided to rush it now =[ Oh well, $5 for 23 days isnt bad.

One question, I didn't have time to read the whole thread.
Will I be able to flip flop servers between NA and TW (Soon to be part of the Korean server)? Or will I need two accounts? (One to play on NA and one to play on Korean)

People are saying its going to be 1150 mycard points rather than the ~2000 it is currently. That brings the price around ~40 and you can use the same method as the obtaining a trial to purchase the full version.

Thanks for the info. I'm seriously considering a full TW version when the price drops. Remains to be seen if the general consensus is that the connection is good enough.

how does the method change if you want a full version?

you need to buy more credits, 1900~ something i believe. Anyway it works, still had the same option to choose as the jongzor, so i got mine acc, dl the client at the moment. Hopefully i don't have problems from blizzard as it seems something really wrong is going on in TW server.

It seems to me the only way to redeem points is by using MyCard, and they dont have SC2 on their list of redeemable content anymore.
Did you buy the full game? If you did, I'm really confused why I was able to buy the 30 day trial yesterday but not the full game.

Anybody recently have any success buying the full version of the game at all?

I was able to buy the 30 day today.

My ID on TW is Doodsmack.769. Add me if you want to test the lag/play some team games/whatever.
It's defiinitely gonna be best to play during peak TW hours. If you're playing when it's the middle of the night in TW it seeems pretty dead.

I am getting the exact options in this screenshot. I ordered the 1000 point card from offgamers and am not finding the "戰網卡" option on the dropdown menu. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Yes I had the same experience. I had originally bought the 150 point MyCard and was able to redeem successfully (戰網卡 option showed up). I figured I'd pony up another 1000 points for a 1150 point total to get the full version of the game, but am unable to find the "戰網卡" option on the 1000 point redeem.
If anybody can help, that would be great! We seem to have several people stuck with a lot of MyCard points here not knowing how to redeem them.

The issue is that you need a card wioth exactly 1150 or greater. I think.
Im workin on a way to try and get it work with adding points to MyCard and buying manually. But its slow and painful and Im not sure its going to work.

Hmmm I had no problems with my placement matches, won them all, placed Diamond (Platinum in Europe), but the lag is bothering me, about 500 ms from Europe, way worse than EU to NA.

The issue is that on the redemption site, the only MyCard values that you can directly redeem into Battle.net cards are 150, 300, 450, and 1150 points. That is why people who bought the 150 MyCard have had no problems seeing the "戰網卡" (Battle.net card) option. But people who bought some other value like 1000 or 2000 MyCard points do not see the option and are stuck.
The question now is, if I have 1000 points, how the hell do I use it?
If you're able to figure out a way to buy the 150/300/450/1150 Battle.net cards manually off of the MyCard website with the MyCard points you already have (using MyCard points as "currency"), please let me know!
|
Ok I'm also having the 1000 point issue. Talking to the 'live support' people to see what they have to say. She doesn't seem to read chinese either though...we'll see how it goes and let you know.
edit: rofl so after some talking, she links me here to get some help...the convo goes on...

That's out of stock atm.
I'm in the same boat, bought the 150 points to comfirm that it would work and it was fine. Then bought the 1000 points so I could get a full copy of the game and the battle.net option is not appearing on the menu.
|
@Jongzor, I think your exactly right, effectively that is just a higher value 'battle net card' than the 150 point one that mycard lets you redeem for a 30 day trial in battlenet
So getting that would 'appear' to cut out the mycard middle man
Offgamers is out of stock at the moment though 'restock in progress' they say.
I'd say there is a delay, because the TW copy of sc2 was only droppped to 1150$NTD (or around 40 USD) on the 14/7 - today.
|
I changed up the OP to address the 1000 pt situation.
|
After talking to the offgamers live chat: "Elizabeth C.: They have been informed that they are not able to transfer the points value for 1000 and 2000 to Starcraft 2 TWdue to there were some technical issue from MyCard service site system and they are proceeding under going maintenance."
then she linked this https://www.mycard520.com.tw/AnnouncementCont.aspx?AnnSn=1912
Now I'm not 100% sure, but it sounds like the high point values are just under maintanence, and will be reavailable shortly.
Well i sure hope so anyway.
|
I guess with the ghetto version you do the conversion 8 times? also is the TW version 100% 1150 right now?
edit: seems offgamers have sc2 TW in stock now with the 1150 points, and bnet is accepting it. don't see any problems!
|
If you login to tw.battle.net account management section, the full 'unlimited' version only requires 1150 pionts now, so yeh, its definitely that much.

This is the same information i've gotten from mycard support, via their email contact on their site (google chrome helped me navigate with in built translation)
Until that is fixed, i think any denominations of mycard, other than the 150 point will be unlikely to yield results.
But given off gamers now has the bnet 1150 point card back in stock, and it works striaght into bnet (without mycard) it looks the better way to go.
Hopefully mycard will bring the service back up at some point in the future, and i can sell the points to a friend or something

You just got the offgamers bnet 1150 points? And charged that into your TW Account on bnet yeh? Yep exactly. I did the 150 point test 2 days ago, lag was playable from UK, couldn't resist a 40% discount on the full game
Cool. I just got one myself (the bnet 1150 point from offgamers). Will load it up when i get home.
Sucks that i have these mycard points i cant use, but maybe they'll fix their service in the future and i can sell them off to a friend who wants a TW/KR account

It never asked me for a military email address.

Or me, i brought from offgamers with my CC Process was plain and simple.

mmhm used paypal, no military email lol. Just a phone call that took 30 seconds and all was good

it said that i was military personal and i needed to verify my mlitary email and im not even in military...

Yep all correct.
offgamers 1150 -> Straight to bnet with the code they gave me.

Try putting in just the code (the longer number) That's all i had to use and it worked fine

Also, you may need to go to the tw.battle.net account management and "recharge account" using the code provided, giving you the credits to buy the game.

if i buy like 3 450 point card etc etc can i end up purchacing a full account? meaning can i combine points to reach 1950 or 1150 points. \and for people living in SEA region is this the same mycard which we can buy from the stores? Is this the same as thye malaysia mycard?
|
Just got my 30 day trial, will post what it is like for me in the UK after the client finishes downloading and patching ^^
|
Sadly I wasted my $40 since i couldnt get a 1150 card i tried to buy a 1000 and a 150. Doesn't work, even when you load the points into your mycard account the option for bnet is not redeemable.

Anyone know if SCII or Bnet is in this list? Thanks

I purchased the 1150 pts game and received my serial and code, however everytime I try to add a game I get the following error message:
"The game key you entered cannot be claimed. Please check the key and try again. Alternatively, you can enter this key for a different region by changing the leading part of the www.battle.net URL (ex. “eu.battle.net”) in your web browser, or for a different Battle.net account."
Anyone else getting this problem? I have also created a TW account and tried to add the game there and get the same error message.

@KRPS its not a cd key. they're actually points that you use to purchase the game itself.

In my other posts, it looks like no, there is no solution at the moment.
I have had 3-4 email exchanges with my card support email. To be honest, they are pretty helpful for a company that doesnt speak english as there first language.
All they will say is that the process for converting 'mycard points' into battle net points is under maintenance and they cannot say when it will be fixed. (Note: I got this from them 2 days ago)
It appears, that the 150 point trial works, because that converts DIRECTLY into a battlenet point currency , i.e. you can get a 150 point battle net card.
But because you (and i) have a 1000 or 2000 point mycard, those dont convert directly.
Until mycard fixes the system to convert there points into bnet points, your best option for an 'unlimited' taiwan account (perhaps after trying via the 150 point method as shown in the OP) is to get the 1150 "BNET" Card from offgamers and then just charge the account up that way as other have done successfully.

But just to clarify - so you reckon that it IS just 'maintanence', and there will eventually be a use for the 1000 points? kinda a lot of money for me at this point ;P, I'd rather be calm knowing i havent wasted it haha.

Everyone here seems incapable of following directions, whether it be in English or Taiwanese. We're not splitting an atom here folks.
If you follow the directions on the battle.net website, it will suggest you goto https://www.mycard520.com.tw/mycardstore/store.aspx?gameid=bnet <---THIS SITE RIGHT HERE. Where you enter your Mycard Number and Mycard Password. Which in turn, will convert into another my card number that you paste into the battle.net website for purchasing a Taiwanese account RIGHT WHERE IT SAYS "ENTER BATTLE.NET GAME CARD CODE".
It's fairly simple.

I've only done it twice, (both successfully first time) but each time it was a different process. First time i had to go through mycard.520, second time it gave me a completely different code that skips mycard.
It's not hard, but they seem to be good at catching us out by changing things up on the fly

Everybody knows about the redemption site and the Offgamers >> MyCard >> Battle.net process, it indeed is a "fairly simple" process on paper. The problem is that the site only redeems MyCards in certain denominations (150 points is confirmed by everybody; 300, 450, and 1150 is possible but not confirmed). That means the people who bought any other values such as 1000 or 2000 are currently stuck because the site does not give the option to redeem those values into Battle.net points. Some users say that the MyCard customer service has told them that the ability to convert 1000/2000/etc. points is under maintenance but nobody knows an ETA. This sucks a lot, because there are lots of users here sitting here with like $37 (1k) or even $73 (2k) worth of MyCard points which cannot be redeemed!
Moreover, your directions are now completely deprecated, because the best solution for somebody who who has not bought anything yet is to actually just buy a 1150 Battle.net card (which goes in and out of stock a couple of times a day), and skip the MyCard bullshit altogether.
But until somebody here on TL figures out a way to convert the 1k or 2k MyCard points into usable Battle.net points and relieve everybody of their misery, this thread will continue to be a place where people share information!

So if its incapable of converting values of 1000 than how would you suggest I have my account? Hmm...Maybe because it CONVERTED THE VALUE OF 1000 AND 150. Instead of speaking for the whole community speak for yourself. It worked perfectly fine for me. Maybe you aren't following fucking directions properly. And what the fuck is MyCard customer service? It is also as simple as buying a World of Warcraft Game Time Card, and converting it into Battle.Net currency which it suggest on the website. Which IN TURN could be used to purchase the game.

So you went to https://www.mycard520.com.tw/mycardstore/store.aspx?gameid=bnet site and redeemed a 150 point MyCard and it worked. And you're saying you went back to the same URL a second time with a 1000 point MyCard and it worked the exact same way?
In other words, when you entered in your 1000 point MyCard on the site, you actually saw "戰網卡" (Battle.net card) as an option on the drop down menu? Because nobody else who's tried redeeming a 1000 point or 2000 point card in the last 3 days has seen that option. Is there something else you're doing that nobody is? I don't mean to be snarky, but trust me, there are like 6 or 7 guys in this thread and others all having the same problem and nobody would be posting here if we could see the "戰網卡" option on the drop down menu while trying to redeem our 1k/2k cards.
Also, MyCard customer service is the email webform accessed by the "Customer Service" link on the top-right of their website, and people are quoting the replies they've been getting from them. MyCard is a company, they have Customer Service. People have been talking to their customer service. Are you really that surprised?
I dearly hope that you've actually found a way to make the 1000 point redemption work, because you'd pretty much be our savior if we could figure out how to replicate your success.

Just from reading the replies it doesn't look like MyCard is close to resolving the issue, perhaps their customer service would let us trade 1000 points for a 450, 300 and 150 point card which we can then use to get Battle.net points (Assuming the 450 and 300 point cards have no issue purchasing battle.net points, its been hinted at in the thread)
I may ask my flatmate to help me out later this evening (He's Taiwanese so can read the site/communicate)

Yup, exactly seupac
So a 150 point 'mycard' will get you a 30 trial for TW SC2
Alternatively, if straight up you wanna spend the $40, your best option seems to be to get a 1150 'Battle NET" card from offgamers, ... they restock them regularly it appears and that works no problems (check pages 8-10 of this thread)
Any other 'value' my card, has some issues atm

The delay for me in the UK is only just playable, hope it gets a bit better with the swap ever to Korea or thats a wasted £3.40 :O

Pretty sure the TW server is hosted in KR at the moment anyway .. so most likely not hehehe

OK
i bought the 150 point card with visa and followed the instructions
took me about 5 minutes in total and everything worked flawlessly !
as for the lag from the west coast, im sure it will be severe (500-650 ~). as far as i know there is no lowerping/smoothping for starcraft 2, but on wow it dropped some of my teammates pings from austrailia from around 1000 to the 300-400 range.
so lowerping get us a server ! :x

Hey, so I downloaded it, everything worked fine, but when I go and click on my NA version it pops up as TW version. Does anyone know how to fix that, id like to play on NA with my friends again xD

I believe there are several ways, but the easiest and the one I use is to just simply install one version for each server. So one US, one EU and one KR version..
There is also a program that does it for you, but none of my teammates have got it to work.

The desktop shortcuts gets messed up, yes. You will have to make a new one for the US version (if you indeed did install them in a seperate folder).

Yes I did put them in seperate folders, so just re download NA version and keep it in same folder?

So, the best thing to do is buy 8 x 150 point cards if you want the unlimited usage?
Thanks so much to OP.

I wish I saw this earlier, T.T I bought the 1000 points and 150 points but couldn't use the 1000 points.

I paid the $40 for the unlimited account and connected it to a battle net account which says the game is active. But when I try to sign in, it says the account does not include a copy of sc2...

I've got everything except the key for b.net. I bought the points and put it in and now I'm at battle.net where it says redeem Battle.net Game Card code. What am I missing?
I don't see a code in the email, just a link back to the off-gamers website. Where I can view the Mycard serial and password; but no b.net code?
Edit: I didn't look at the right number in the email, I'm an idiot. Thanks! \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

Go up and click account balance and click on the last link on the drop down. Here you should paste the long number from offgamers named code, then you should get your points.
ps. This is only valid if you bought the SC2 from offgamers for 1150 poinys

EDIT: Finalized instructions for people who've been stuck with 1000 or 2000 point cards can now be found on page 13 of this thread.
Old post for record-keeping: + Show Spoiler +Not much success yet, but I did find a tutorial on the site for using "MyCard member points" as currency to purchase Battle.net cards at http://active.mycard520.com.tw/web/teach/teach_micro_battlenet3.htmlTo clarify, these are the steps: 1) Create a MyCard member account. This will make you a MyCard "junior member", which has very limited functionality. Logon to the member area and follow the instructions to verify your account via email so that you can upgrade to an "authorized member." I selected "Overseas" member, because I don't live in Taiwan. The only tricky field they asked for was a passport number, so I just made up a random 9-digit number (Taiwan passports #'s are apparently 9 digits). I pressed submit and successfully upgrade to an authorized member. Note that when I tried the first time I entered in just a random 3 digit number for the passport field and when I pressed submit it failed and I had to start all over again. I have no idea what the deal is really. So I just stuck with a random 9 digit number and it worked. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 2) After upgrading to authorized member, several new options will now appear on the left-hand column of the member area. These options are in English (thank goodness!) and correspond directly with the picture on "Step 2" of the tutorial. For example, note that in the "Step 2" picture, "轉點儲值" is boxed in red. On the English version, this corresponds with "Redeem". This is what we want, so click it! 3) This is where I got stuck again. The picture for Step 3 in the tutorial shows that the fabeled "戰網卡" (Battle.net card) option is available to be selected. But on my browser, I see no such option. TLDR: "戰網卡" *should* be available on the drop-down menu; MyCard shows it right on its own tutorial! The reason why we don't actually see it right now is unclear. We can only hope that the option isn't down permanently and that it is only on temporary maintenance. Some people have used the MyCard customer service webform to ask questions and apparently received a reply that the service is going through maintenance, but nobody seems to have gotten an answer on the ETA. I hope all of you guys can keep playing with their website and talking to their customer service, as the more people trying to figure this out the faster we'll get to a final answer.EDIT (CLARIFICATION): Some people might be confused as to what the hell "MyCard member points" are and how to get them. MyCard member points ARE NOT the same as the MyCard points bought from Offgamers. It is something that Toons accidentally stumbled upon in another thread and I got clarification from him through PM. "Step Zero" -- Converting MyCard 1000 point card to MyCard 1000 "member points": (Note: Do NOT do Step Zero until somebody figures out a way to make Step 3 work! This is all experimental and you might screw yourself.) 0a) Go to https://www.mycard520.com.tw/MyCardStore/Store.aspx0b) Enter in the information. You'll see the beloved menu. ![[image loading]](http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/8826/mycardlist.png) Choose the first option that has the word 'MyCard' in it. This will convert your 1000 point MyCard into 1000 MyCard "member points" (i.e. it just loads the MyCard points onto your online member account). 0c) Login to the MyCard member area. On the top-left, it should now say "MyCard points: 1000". (Before, it would have said MyCard points: 0"). 0d) Now that you have MyCard member points, you can use them as currency to execute Steps 1-3. In essence, you use your online member points and redeem/convert them into Battle.net cards. We already know that Battle.net cards are only sold/redeemed in denominations of 150, 300, 450, and 1150 points. My hypothesis is that with 1000 member points, you will redeem twice, each time for a 450 point Battle.net card. 450+450 = 900 (with 100 useless MyCard member points leftover). You'll still need more Battle.net cards to hit the 1150 required to buy the game, probably 450+450+150+150 = 1200 points (50 useless points leftover on your Battle.net account).

The 1150 point Battle.net card has been confirmed to work by others in the thread and is actually the optimal headache-free solution if you're starting from scratch. You get a code that you can enter directly into Battle.net and can skip all the MyCard madness.
Offgamers probably took out the MyCard purchase option on the SC2 section of their site 'cause I bet tons of people have been asking their customer service wtf is going on.
But, they still sell the MyCards on the site. For example on their WoW section.

For the record, I decided to follow in other's footsteps and send MyCard customer service an inquiry.

Their response:
Google translate:
Dear user hello: MyCard Member dump "Battle.net card" function in 2011/7/7 to begin maintenance during the maintenance to a lot of online purchases using MyCard stored value or a point for stored value, if the maintenance is completed will be announced, please forgive the inconvenience caused, thank you.
So if the guy's telling the truth and I'm understanding this correctly, the maintenance has been going on since July 7th with no ETA. Anybody who actually reads Chinese please correct me if I'm mistaken or missed crucial details.
This also seems to match with the announcement blurb on their site listed under 7/7.

All I see from the OP link is now just the battle.net cards. Do those work? Cant seem to purchase the 150~point cards anymore.

Offtopic, but the front page of offgamers has a funny news article called "StarCraft 2: Steps to Become a PRO Player".
Even though they show Tossgirl's picture, they never actually say it's her. And yet the implication is that she's giving SC2 advice and plugging foreign sites like www.gosucoaching.com. Hilariously bad.

TBH - the bnet cards are the easiest way to secure a TW account (wish i did this to begin with)

You only need to buy 1 of the bnet cards right? It's not like the 150 MyCard where you have to buy multiples if you wanna get the unlimited TW account, right?
EDIT: Nevermind, I found the answer on pg. 8

@Existence88 Good stuff.
You just need to ensure your logged onto TW.Battle.net to 'charge up' those points you buy

So I emailed offgamers about any possible exchange on the 1000 point purchase they might be able to offer. (Just on the offchance, since I wont be able to navigate the mycard site)
Here's the reply: + Show Spoiler + We have received our Publisher latest updates and confirmed that the redemption of Starcraft 2 TW is temporarily not available as there were an issue occurred on their conversion system. We thank you in advance for your time and patience on this matter.

Yeah the 1150 point one without the mycard madness worked for me yesterday. The whole verification process was kinda annoying but other than that it was fine. Good to see they restocked fairly quickly.

GOOD NEWS FOR PEOPLE STUCK WITH 1000/2000 POINT MyCARDS!
MyCard Point Conversion maintenance is complete, but ONLY from the Member Zone! I have successfully converted my MyCard points into a Battle.net card using the instructions I posted on page 11. I've successfully used the Battle.net card to put points onto Battle.net to purchase the game. Currently downloading the game. Will come back in a bit to clarify and answer questions.
|
how are u guys able to buy them T_T. its forever out of stock for me D=

But I heard that the TW server was actually located in Seoul with the KR server, so after the merge won't it be the same?

MyCard Battle.net card redemption is back online from within their Member area.
I've walked through the following steps personally and have successfully used my 1000 point MyCard that had been stuck collecting dust for the last several days. I'm currently downloading the game.
Please refer to the official tutorial at http://active.mycard520.com.tw/web/teach/teach_micro_battlenet3.html , as we will be following the basic steps pictured on that page.
INSTRUCTIONS
The following instructions are for people with this problem: You purchased a 1000 or 2000 point MyCard from Offgamers and have not been able to redeem it for Battle.net Cards at https://www.mycard520.com.tw/MyCardStore/Store.aspx . The reason is because Battle.net cards are only sold in denominations of 150, 300, 450, and 1150 Battle.net points. So if you try to redeem with 1000 MyCard points, you are unable to see the option for redemption.
![[image loading]](https://warcraft.tw/wtb/images/about-card_p02.jpg)
Step 1: Create a MyCard member account Create a MyCard member account.
Also, remember the security code you specified, you will need it later.
Step 2: Check that "戰網卡" is a redemption option After upgrading to authorized member, several new options will now appear on the left-hand column of the member area. Click the second link in the menu, "Redeem".
You will now see two drop-down menus. For the first menu ("Please select game or digital content"), look for the option called "戰網卡" (which means "Battle.net Card"). It was the 3rd item on the menu for me.
![[image loading]](http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/1008/mycard1.jpg)
After selecting it, the second drop-down menu ("MyCard type") will now populate itself with new options. It will list 300, 450, and 1150 point Battle.net Cards. (150 redemption is currently offline according to the 7/16 news announcement on their front page).
If "戰網卡" doesn't appear in the drop-down menu, then the system is back on maintenance like it was for the last week. If this is the case, you will have to wait before you can proceed with the next steps.
Step 3: Converting your 1000 point MyCard to "Member Points" When you logged in as a member, you should have noticed that on the top-left, there is a display that says "MyCard points: 0". This means you have 0 online "Member Points." Member Points are what you use to purchase the cards in Step 2. We are going to turn our 1000 point MyCard into 1000 Member Points.
Mini-Discussion regarding Denominations As was stated earlier, Battle.net Cards can only be bought in certain denominations (150, 300, 450, 1150). That means that if you had 1000 Member Points, you could redeem two 450 point cards (450+450 = 900). This would leave you with 100 Member Points uselessly left over. Furthermore, 900 Battle.net points isn't enough to purchase the game, which costs 1150 Battle.net points.
What I did was to purchase another 150 point MyCard from Offgamers. Their SC2 page linked in the OP doesn't have MyCard listed anymore, but they do still sell it on the site. I went to their WoW section at http://www.offgamers.com/world-of-warcraft/wow-tw/wow-mycard-c-16-2920-2922.ogm and bought another 150 point MyCard. With my original 1000 point card and 150 point card, I then have 1150 points worth of MyCard, which is the exact amount I need for the game.
Turning your MyCards into Member Points Go to https://www.mycard520.com.tw/MyCardStore/Store.aspx
Enter in the information.
Logon to the MyCard member area. On the top-left, it should now say "MyCard points: 1000".
I repeated the process for my 150 point MyCard. Afterwards, the top-left now says "MyCard points: 1150".
Step 4: Purchase Battle.net Card with your Member Points Logon to the MyCard member area. Go back to the same "Redeem" page from Step 2. In the first menu, select "戰網卡" ("Battle.net Card")
![[image loading]](http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/1008/mycard1.jpg)
In the second menu, select the 1150 point Battle.net Card.
![[image loading]](http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/5204/mycard2.jpg)
Press submit to redeem.
It will now ask you for three things: 1) Your current membership password. Enter it. 2) A new membership password. Make something up and remember it. It will be your new logon password after this is all over. They say they do this for security purposes. 3) Your security code. Enter in the code you made up back in Step 1.
Everything should go through successfully. You will be taken back onto the familiar turf described in the OP. You'll be asked to enter your Battle.net account's email, and then you'll be asked to logon to Battle.net. Your Battle.net Card code will be given to you, which you can finally use to turn into Battle.net points!
|

Awesome. Yeah those guys are sneaky. They didn't even have a news announcement on their front page saying that maintenance was over. The only way to know was to manually check the redeem page and cross your fingers, which sucked.

WCX's guide to redeem 1000 or 2000 point cards is spot on

Finally got it to work! Only had to use 4 different browsers for it to work (opera or IE doesn't work with these chinese sites at all. Google Chrome works somewhat, but you get unexpected errors. Firefox seems to be the only one which actually works 100%). The whole process takes between 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on how quickly you figure this out.

but now, because I'm a retard, I have a problem.
I redeemed the 150 points before i knew about the 1000 issue. So now with this, i redeemed 450 points twice, before realizing i couldnt do anything with the extra 100. is there any way for me to get the extra 100, or add an extra 150 points? I really fail hard yea, but any help is apprecitaed.

I've successfully used the Battle.net card to put points onto Battle.net to purchase the game. Currently downloading the game. Will come back in a bit to clarify and answer questions.
OMG I love you Thanks for the heads up... Just successfully got my TW game client & account. Was almost starting to think I threw my money away...

but now, because I'm a retard, I have a problem.
If I'm understanding your situation, currently:
On Battle.net: You have 150+450+450 = 1050 Battle.net points. On MyCard: You have 100 MyCard member points (leftover from the 1000-450-450).
If this is correct, then you probably have to purchase another 150 point MyCard from Offgamers (MyCards are no longer listed on their SC2 page but can be found elsewhere on the site, for example on their WoW page at http://www.offgamers.com/world-of-warcraft/wow-tw/wow-mycard-c-16-2920-2922.ogm ). You'd then just follow the steps in the OP and redeem it directly at https://www.mycard520.com.tw/MyCardStore/Store.aspx .
You'd then end up with:
On Battle.net: 1050+150 = 1200 Battle.net points. You'll use up 1150 to buy the game and have 50 Battle.net points leftover. On MyCard: Still the same 100 leftover MyCard member points.
You'd end up with $6 worth of unusable, leftover points split across two sites, but I don't think there's any other way to do it. Maybe you can use the leftover points to buy Heart of the Swarm TW version when it comes out. Nobody knows how much the expansion will cost, so maybe the numbers will still even out for you in the long run.
Let me know if I misunderstood your question btw.

ok thank you very much, you're a legend (:

I just added the 150 points with a slightly alternative route. The starcraft option didn't show up for me so this is what I did:
I took the sixth option in this screenshot (WoW):
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/4ogyA.png)
It will then ask you which kind of WoW product you want convert and you should select the first one. It should show ya the amount of points from the card you entered. After clicking ok it gives you the option to fill in your WoW accountname, you can just leave it filled like it is as it is just optional.
After that it will send you to https://warcraft.tw/wtb/wow-transformcard.aspx and automatically fill the card section by itself. All you have to do is fill in your battle.net email-address and the security code. It will then continue to battle.net redeem code section where it will automatically fill in the code you need. Press submit and the points are added to your account ^_^

i purchased from the offgamers link and i received a serial and a code, i cant figure out what to do with it, could someone please help?
nvm found it
|
What exactly did you Purchase DeSam? The MyCard currency? In that case you will need to redeem the serial and pin code over at https://www.mycard520.com.tw/
You can redeem the points for Battle.net cards (戰網卡).
This will then become your Battle.net currency. When you have 1150 currency on your battle.net account you will be able to digitally buy the game via Battle.net

I just used the screenshot from the OP. Didn't take the time to make a screenshot myself. So the sixth option there was the fifth when I did it ;-)

Guess who's back to bother poor innocent citizens of this thread... does anyone have a spare 150 point that they wanna get rid of cause they accidentally got an extra or something? I'm trying to buy one but offgamers guys say i need to wait till monday. So if anyone can get me one within the next few hours, a PM would be sweet <3 (I'll pay you ofc)
|
I bought 2000 MyCard points so now i have 850 left.
I want to sell these via PayPal to anyone who is interested. Also i will sell these points cheaper than they are on Offgamers. I will be able to sell: 1x BatteNet Card 300 for 7,50€ or 10$ - SOLD 1x BattleNet Card 450 for 11€ or 15$ - SOLD EDIT:all sold out! hf with TW sc2 )
150 pts does not work right now (maintenance)
PM me if you are interested.

Also I've noticed I don't get the input limit reached error on this server ever. Why the hell is that? Maybe less population on Taiwan server? Regardless, it's really awesome to instantly look up things on battlenet. So annoying on NA.

I only have one issue now... Every time I login to Battle.net it's completely chinese... Anyone got a quick fix to make EU my default again?

So does this still work? or have the servers already merged?
also, i was going to ask some people i know from korea to just buy korsc2 and i pay them for it, but i read in another post you could get fined/jail, is that true?

It still works

I just got the 150 point trial to work but i did it slightly differently. I went to the World of Warcraft section in offgamers http://www.offgamers.com/world-of-warcraft/wow-tw/wow-mycard-c-16-2920-2922.ogm Then I selected the 150 point card from the drop down menu and purchased that. I then went to the mycard site as OP suggested https://www.mycard520.com.tw/MyCardStore/Store.aspx But i could not find the "戰網卡" option so instead I used Google chromes translation to translate the options into English and then I picked the world of Warcraft option. Once i selected that i was given the option to either add 150 points or do a wow name change or character transfer so i picked the 150 points and you can't enter anything in the email field it says: 無需填寫 which translates to "need not complete" so next I hit okay and it sent me to another website with all of the information filled in except a bnet email and a verification code (captcha) . Once i ented my bnet account info it took me right to the battle.net site with the code already entered I just waited a few seconds and then hit the enter code button and had the 150 points added to my account, its easy to download the client from there.
Hope that helps anyone

okay, i will try this when i get home from work, here's to hoping i don't blow tons of $$

Just wanted to make a note, maybe it can be put in the op, that theres a few of us on there popping in and out of the teamliquid channel. so if youre on the TW server right now waiting for the merge, pop in =)

From what I read people get no lag from west US/Canada.. but has anyone tried playing from Toronto or New York? I'm going back to study this August...
|
I am to use my 150 game points, but when i click buy games from tw.battle.net it always switches me to us.battle.net.
how do you keep this from happening?
edit: I am really dumb, i use a mac so i couldnt see the corner of the screen, lol.

i would love to play on kr server. just did a pingtest to seoul.....489 ping. thx no thx

I can't find the aforementioned option and the Chrome translator doesn't work

Sooo just converted my 1000 points into 'Member points' but I don't have the option lol. Everything is the same as the pic in WCX's guide (great stuff btw, thanks) minus the 戰網卡 option.
Guess I'll just keep checking back each day.

So I tried downloading a KR client, hoping I would be able to log on with my TW account. This because I don't like the chinese sounds, and the text is in a really weird font. But I don't read korean =| anyone have any idea what this error is saying?

I would just Copy and Paste your native SCII game folder (You can do this since all blizzard games are 'portable') and use the SCII localize in the OP. Thats what i did. If you want to use the Korean sounds there's a thread somewhere that allows you to change the sound files with out tampering with the game and flagging Warden.

Once you buy the points from the offgamers site. Make a battle.net account using a hotmail email and put that you live in Taiwan. You will need a NID number but you can get that from a generator. Then just create the account. Once you have made the account buy the game digitally. It will say you need 1150 ptp and when it ask for the code just use the serial number that you got from offgamers. It will add your points so you dont have to do all of those other steps. You just use the serial number that you got from offgamers to buy the game and thats it. Did it today and it worked.
|
@NV - good tips! Just a note though, you dont really need to do that, you can add it to your existing BNET account by simply changing your region temporarily to TW.

Sure was, the option was there on the 16th of july (see WCX's posts a few days back) Perhaps their maintenance is simply just a 'restocking' of some kind. Will post back when it is up and going again.

Hey dude,
Can you explain to me how to do this? I tried to do this with my EU English folder, but then the relocaliser changed it all into Chinese lol. How do I change location without changing language?
|
It will change some language, But MOST of it should be in your native client language. At least that was the case for English.
This is My Taiwan client as of now: http://i.imgur.com/QkEk9.jpg , yup, Pro Silver.
What I Did was:
1.) Copy (Ctrl + c ) + Paste (Ctrl + V) my SCII Folder and renames it to "KR StarCraft II" 2.) Unzipped localize to the support folder. 3.) When it asks for the first language, chose your native client language 4.) Choose the zhTW language as target language 5.) ... 6.) Profit.

Desrow - you mean the one with the bnet logo? No you actually bought the easier way.
All you have to do now is logon to tw.battle.net, use the recharge link (top right i believe on tw bnet) to add points to your account, and then use those on sc2 (this is all done within tw.battle.net)

I can't read Chinese; however the Log-In screen has some numbers. 7 28 and 4:00. the dropdown on mycard is different now T_T

Edit 3: I redeemed the World of Warcraft(魔獸世界) and activated the card through the prompts. Gave me the 150 account balance necessary.
Google Translate turns one of the options in to World of Warcraft (魔獸世界), but I don't see a SC2, or Battle.net option, kinda iffy to do so myself.
Edit: The original post states you're looking for "戰網卡" which Google turns into "Card battle." NOT World of Warcraft, which makes me iffy again. Edit 2: Also, the original screen shot includes World of Warcraft (魔獸世界) and "Card battle" (戰網卡)

This helped me a lot
So the full process is:
Go to http://www.seagm.com/mycard-taiwan/card/c.html and select the amount of points you need (150 to 30 days trial)
Redeem you card trough this address:
https://www.mycard520.com.tw/mycardstore/store.aspx
In the second step you need to select this option:
魔獸世界
Which is World of Warcraft, then it will ask you for your mail (use the one you will use for your battle net account) and a verification code and voila you have your points charged to your account on bnet.
|
i get an error from that site now "系统提示 pay_paypal_error_currency"
any chance of another site where you can get 150 mycard points that i could redeem on my battle.net account?
i found mycard points for facebook but im not sure if they would work :x

I'm willing to sell my TW account to anybody who wants one and doesn't wanna go through this hassle. It's in Gold league 1v1 and has its name change available. Just PM me
|
I had a problem after I chose the fifth option and accept the redeem on mycard520, the site didn't ask for any bnet account and gave me an error with a transaction number. When I tried to redeem my card ID again it says that it's already used.
Happened to anyone? Need help.
edit : Oh ok nevermind, mycard520's support answered me (in chinese), had to go on a page with my transactions (even though I don't have an registered account) to get my converted 150 wow points, then go on another website to put my bnet email account and the new code/pass that they gave me.

Does anyone know if it is possible in some way to get 30 days gametime, because apparently, offgamers removed their offer for tw mycard points. IF it's not possible, where could I possibly buy the full tw/kr sc2 version? Is is the one posted in the initial link by the thread starter?
Ty in advance!

Aw I wanna pick up one of the 30 day trials from SeaGM but do not want to have to send in my photo ID and stuff. Its unfortunate offgamers stopped their 30 day trials, seems like the more legitimate service.
Wonder what choices I have now.. can't quite afford the full game unfortunately.
Edit: actually I found the world of warcraft 150 pts were still listed on Offgamers! I paid, will try it out and let you guys know if it works.
