MVP vs. Creator + Show Spoiler +MVP – ‘It is hard to win in through one big battle because of the archon buff.’ - Your thoughts on making the round of 32?It must be because the games were so long, but my happiness about the win is pretty subdued. - Your predicted score before this match?I only thought about playing well rather than focusing on the score. If it went well, I suspected I would win, and if it didn’t, it would be difficult. - It is known that you do not like TvP matchups. It’s not that I hate the matchup, but I think there are just so many things to think about. Although the warp gate was nerfed, it is always tough to prepare for the matchup because there are still so many strategies. - Your reason for losing the 2nd set?I went in thinking he would quick expand, but that wasn’t the case. And I didn’t really prepare for a macro game after that. - The reason that the 3rd set was so long?In the early game, I did a marine and bunker rush but that was stopped. And in practice, I only got that far, and since that failed, I tried to play in the most safe manner possible, so it ended up being so long. I don’t think the games today went as well as they could have. - Was the nuke a ceremony?I prepared it because it is possible to nuke the economy at the 12-o-clock position from above the hill. - You focused on a lot of marauder drops.Because of the archon buff, I wasn’t sure I could just win in one big battle. Even in practice, when I was ahead, there were several cases of reversals. So I played it safe by defending with planetary fortresses while dropping so it took a while for the game to finish. - Anyone left you consider to be a challenge?I take each match as a challenge. And if GanZi advances, my challenges will truly start from the round of 32. But if ButterflyEffect advances, I feel like I will have an easier time than facing GanZi. GanZi and I were on the same SCBW team so we know each other’s style pretty well. - Any last comments? My teammates Seed, YongHwa, and Nuts helped me practice. San and Inca also helped me practice. I want to thank all those players for their help and I hope all of them can get to the round of 32.

GanZi vs. ButterflyEffect + Show Spoiler +GanZi – ‘My immediate goal is to overcome MVP.’ - Your thoughts on making the round of 32?I feel like I won easily today so I am pretty happy. In the round of 32, I will be facing MVP; he is a good player, and someone I know very well so I will make sure to prepare my hardest to show good games. - MVP mentioned that if he faced you it would be difficult.MVP is being modest. In practice, MVP almost always wins. He is really good at TvT, and he is the best terran right now. Because of that, I want to face him with everything I have. I also think MMA is really good but he only seems to play at full strength during the GSTL. - There are a lot of variables in a TvT, was it hard for you to prepare? To be honest, we have been partying like crazy after the team league victory that my condition wasn’t too good today. I didn’t get to practice that much, and so I prepared to play my most basic style for today’s match.
- Is it hard for you to live as a player along with a coach? In SCBW the significance of team life was dependant on the coach, so I have a lot of experience from that and I feel like I am in a good position in this team where I can get good advice. It makes me not lazy, and it feels pretty rewarding. - Do you think the round of 32 will be your toughest test?If I can beat MVP, I will get a lot of confidence. So my immediate goal is to overcome MVP. I will put all my focus for that. - Any last comments?I wanted to do some interviews for the GSTL, but I guess they only interviews the most valuable players. Although I wasn’t able to be that this team league, I feel like I carried my weight for the team so I am pleased. Our team is growing with good players and people that I feel like it is only natural that we will grow in time with more and more accomplishments as a team. I want to thank Ga-yeon and BoxeR. At first, I was hesitant about team living, but ever since Ga-yeon told me that she was happy to see me smile there, I have felt very comfortable. And when I see BoxeR in the teamhouse still practicing and putting forth his best effort after all this time, I am always surprised. I know that this team is still a burden that BoxeR tries to carry forth, but in the future, I know that it will be a team that will only get better over time as its members put forth their efforts.

Check vs. SuperNoVa + Show Spoiler +SuperNoVa – ‘I want to show my real skills.’ - Your thoughts on making the round of 32?I thought it would be harder to win, so this win hasn’t really dawned on me yet. But I feel good. - Did you predict that your opponent would 6-pool in the 1st set?On the ladder, I tend to go for fast expansions so I knew that there was a possibility that he might do that, but I didn’t really think he would. I was lucky that I was able to block it. I suspected something was up when I saw the quick drone scout. - Did the 2nd set go as you planned?I think that went as the scenario that I prepared. - What do you think is the reason that there hasn’t been much attention (by the media) toward you?I don’t think I have really shown my full potential on broadcasted matches. My goal in this super tournament is to showcase my skills. - Who do you want to face in the round of 32?I think MMA will advance. It would be good if Lyn would advance, but I wouldn’t say I am afraid of either player. I believe the match against either of them is very doable, so I think the match will be fun. - Your thoughts on your toughest challenge left?I think each moment can be taken as a challenge, and I have passed the first one today. The next one will be bigger. - Your goal for this season?I don’t have a set goal, but I plan to show 100% of everything that I prepare for each match. - Any last comments?I want to thank Zenio, JookTo, and Cezanne for helping me practice.

MMA vs. Lyn + Show Spoiler +MMA – ‘It is important to take it one step at a time.’ - Your thoughts on making the round of 32?I feel like I have been resurrected from death. - Your play seemed a bit different than usual.Strangely, I think when my play is good it is good, and when it is bad it is just bad. The up and down swing is too much still. I need to work on controlling my consistency. - Your reason for losing the 2nd set?My whole strategy was messed up. My play was one thing then the next without focus and my ragtag strategy was broken so I lost. - You were also behind in the 3rd set.Lyn scanned in the center but I think he didn’t see the siege tanks on the hill. And after that exchange, I was able to play it slow and take the win. - Compared to during the team league, it feels like you haven’t showed your best skills in the individual league. I don’t know exactly why. If I knew the reason, I wouldn’t be doing that. I got to find an answer real quick. I suppose it could be because the atmosphere is different than when I play in the team league. - Your next opponent is SuperNoVa.He is a really good player so I will have to prepare very hard for this match. He is a former SCBW pro like me so I feel like the match will be fun. - This season’s greatest challenge? It is important to take things one step at a time. I will try to win in my round of 32 match and try to do well at MLG. I will take it slow. - Are you worried about the MLG?Whenever I have time, I have been watching VODS of the foreign players. - In the foreign tournaments, you have to play many matches in one day. How are to preparing for this?I think mind control (stability) will be especially important. There are a lot of moments where you may lose a game and get into panic mode, so your results really reflect how well you handle those kinds of situations. - Your predicted result at MLG?Of course, I plan to win. It is an individual event, but my teammates believe in me, so I feel like I will need to win. I have one friend who doesn’t believe in me. Kim…, (laugh). I heard that Idra and Naniwa are great players so I will need to watch out for them. - Any last comments?I want to thank Ga-yeon, BoxeR, and Cella. Recently, Razer has sent us a lot of products for us to use. I want to thank them. I will make sure to get good results in the round of 32. Finally, I want to thank my fans who cheer me on.

Sweet... MVP drawing out the game because he was so unsure ...
|
Interesting, I didn't know that Ganzi was a player/coach. Thanks for the translations!
|
MVP hopes that his practice partner oGsInCa can make it through to the Ro32 over his butt buddy MarineKingPrime.
|
Thanks for the interviews .
MVP hwaiting.
|
MMA is a Jedi.
He'll be mind controlling people at mlg :p
|
A lot of MLG related questions for MMA. Nice!
IdrA and Naniwa aren't the only players you should be prepping for :D
|
So 4 of best terrans in the world will face of in the Ro32 ? I would have rather them showcased their TvP and TvZ . May the best terran win .

What are you talking about, isn't Marineking facing Squirtle?
|
= /. Damit, MMA vs Supernova. Supernova has very solid TvZ and TvP, but poor TvT.
|
Even MMA heard of naniwa. cant wait to see some of the MLG games :D

thank you for the interviews! : )

I really don't think supernova has a poor tvt, he is very confident in his tvt and just had no luck until here.

Am I understanding that correctly that no training partner of MVP could stop the marine and bunker rush?
|
why do they always do these silly hand gestures? is it supposed to be intimidating? i would love to see some of them toss out the hang-loose hand or something. also i cant see MMA getting anything lower then silver at MLG
|
MMA looks really nice person, i hope he can keep rolling
|
Thanks like always m8 for the interviews!!!

I only saw MVP winning with his tankpush on taldar'im. So it was surprising that creator held it off. The protoss line up of IM is not that stellar, too, no protoss in code a or s. I think that this also contributes to MVP's problem with the TvP matchup.

No, I'm certain what he means is that he would practice the bunker rush and if it failed he would just leave the game and go into another one to attempt it again.

MMA gonna win MLG

Yeah thats how I read it too. I think practice partners like Inca, San, Seed and Yongwha give him an advantage as Inca and San are well known and Seed and Yongwha throw in some odd builds and timings that no one has seen televised.
Thanks for translating.

MMA seems to be a really likable guy =). hes so wise and modest. very cool.

As it is, I feel MMA would destroy IdrA if he played like he did in the GSTL. Luckily however, IdrA can focus practice against him because his style was revealed in his recent games.

Nice to see MMA watching the foreign vods shows hes taking it pretty seriously.

MMA lost 0-2 to HuK (who didn't even finish top 8 in MLG Dallas) in the up and down matches.

Great interviews, thanks for sharing.

pretty cool to see that MMA is taking MLG seriously and preparing accordingly

He's got a relatively easy group and there is a Loser's bracket. I wouldn't go so far as to say he has silver clinched, but his chances of top 3-5 are pretty good, just depends who he faces. He seems to be like MvP where he has a phenomenal tvt and tvz and stuggles with tvp.

Aww I'm sad that Check lost, however it's awesome MVP won.

MMA played poorly in game 1 vs HuK though. He did a marine tank banshee timing push ...... before siege mode was done. If MMA had played the way he is obvoiusly capable of, I doubt the result would have been 2-0 in HuK's favor.

I love Korean interviews!

On May 24 2011 03:06 Maenander wrote: Am I understanding that correctly that no training partner of MVP could stop the marine and bunker rush? Sounds like it. This is also the reason for MVP's historical weakness to Protoss, the lack of good Protoss practice partners. Both MvP and Nestea have awesome ZvT, TvZ. Mvp just needs a strong Protoss player to help him out. MC probably sees MVP as a rival so I don't think hes getting any help there.
|
Thanks for translating the interviews.
The players need to mix up what they do in their player photos. We got the standard finger up, finger point, thumb down, and thumb up from the players. It would be more fun if the players had some props or better poses to make a player photo more distinct.

oh snap, sounds like MMA is preparing seriously for MLG. He's gonna be scary.

Thanks for translations. Mvp can not be happy about these games. He only won by the grace of creator. Hopefully he improves, because I really enjoy watching him play.
Also happy MMA pulled through, don't ask how, but that He won is all that counts.
|
Thanks a lot for the interviews!
Creator was actually playing quite solid in the games vs MVP. The time when he killed the army, but let the medivacs get away was probably his lost opportunity to win the third set and the match. MVP continued to harass with the medivacs getting tearing Creator appart.
What was probably most interesting with the match was how insanely good Archons really are. The typical Marauder-ball can't really handle something with 300 hp that does insane splash damage vs biological, it's like mini psi-storms. It really allows the stalkers to survive fights they wouldn't otherwise.
|
Thanks for the interviews! I always enjoy reading these so much.

|
Awesome, Woongjin Terran battle in the round of 32. They may be doing well in SC2, but they're still Woongjin Terrans to me!

Nice interview! Can't wait to see MMA in some foreign tounaments.

Idra, Thorzain, Naniwa
The foreign bonjwa trio
(Actually I'd replace Idra with Dimaga, heheh, but Dimaga wasn't in the Interview)

I like that MMA watches foreigner VODs

Wow thanks for these interviews, always love insight from the Korean pros! :D

Thanks for the translations! I think the question was living along with a coach (cella), though I have no clue what that question is suppose to be. Why would it be hard to live alongside a coach? Wasn't GanZi a former BW pro? Don't they have coaches back then? I think he wasn't living in the teamhouse or he didn't have access to the coach back then. I seem to remember something like that from the interview when he qualified for Code A.

Naniwa went on such a tear through his matches, it's hard to not have heard about him.
I'm a big MMA fan. A lot of foreigners can give him problems so I hope he can play as well as he does in team league and comes away with wins in MLG as well as in the super tournament. His game vs DongRaeGu in gstl almost brought me to tears.

MVP game 3 was great, nice interview too

Is supernova related to effort?

Thanks to Phosgene for providing translations again. I like your format cause it's hard to get spoiled by accident and I can read one interview when I haven't seen the other matches yet.

thanks

I'm starting to like MMA even more - studying the foreign players to prep for MLG in my eyes makes him that much more deserving of a win!

Pretty cool to see MMA excited for MLG and actually making it a priority to watch foreign replays and show some love to Idra and Naniwa. SC2 community makes me happy :D:D

- Anyone left you consider to be a challenge? I take each match as a challenge.
did anyone else find this answer very appealing? it's nice to see that kind of attitude from such a great player.

Yess I'm so happy supernova, mma, and mvp made it through this super tournament is a terran dream.

Oh Ganzi... you used to be one of the worst A-team terrans in Broodwar... Look at you now!!

Dont forget guys.. there is still ST_Bomber.. the kid's a beast and will be a force to be reckoned with. I see only nani, select and perhaps idra taking a set off MMA or Bomber when it comes to foreigners.
If Losira is on full swing its gonna be GGGGGG
