Well I didnt see any threads on this but apparently someone took a snap shot of tylers stream
Hes disscussing quiting sc2 since he seems to be doing poorly in importent matches.
Since Nony has been my favorite Foreigner since BW this is hitting me hard. I dont want to see Nony leave
Edit-Took out image Because of a spoiler that I didnt catch and privacy. I fucked up
|
Nooo wtf
|
EDIT 2: Thank you for removing promptly, but this probably shouldn't be discussed at all considering that Tyler hasn't said anything publicly yet.
EDIT: OP Please remove image. This is a quote from the Tyler fanclub:

Nooo! Tyler! Please don't quit Also it was a bad idea to post a personal conversation.
|
If he doesn't want to play because he has more interesting things to do in his life, that is his choice. If he leaves, it just means TL has a new spot open for an aspiring protoss.
As long as he still came on SOTG I wouldn't really care either way.
|
"I'll never be healty enough to be a good progamer"
That's a strange thing to say. Does he have some kind of medical condition?
Either way, I think he is just sad because he lost. I think about quitting SC2 every time I lose a ladder game
|
I doubt a true fan would out Nony after he clearly doesn't want to discuss it yet. How would you feel if you were the way his wife found out about his state of mind atm?
|
I don't really think its cool to post this honestly out of respect to Tyler and TL as a whole. Like wtf man, think of maybe the people involved before you post?

nonononononono please dont goo tyler

Ability to focus and concentrate is directly related to your health.

you should ask himself before your posting this
|
I think this is something they probably want to figure out in private. Sad if true but I'd let them figure it out, no need to post a personal conversation on here. If he wanted it being talked about he'd talk about it with the community and not just Nazgul.
|
I hope this thread is wiped. He never intended to show that window and people spreading it are terrible individuals who don't respect privacy.

dont post personal conversations on TL...
"snap shot of tylers stream "
How is that private?
And thats a shame. What would happen to SOTG? Or Team Liquid? OR STRIDE GUM!?
|
That's not the stream, it's a personal conversation. Unbelievably poor taste to post that...

What's with all the outrage? If its on the stream, then its public, that's all there is to it.

was the previous conversation - which is most relevant to this topic - on the stream? didn't think so.

if you guys watched state of the game you'd know that Tyler doesn't rage, but instead he gets really really sad.
I'm guessing hes really really sad about his sen game.

Eh, as a fan I think you should respect what is obviously meant as a private conversation. Not cool!

Horrible thread. Never intended to be public. Hope a mod gets to it soon.

He played an ad but it ended too soon. He clearly meant to not show this.

Out of respect to Tyler who accidentally didn't black out his stream I think we should purge this thread entirely. If a mod sees this while closing it I think that would be best.

All I have to say on the matter is that. Damn, damn, damn.. I mean I know tyler hasn't been shining the brightest lately. But hell I've loved this guy since brood war he just seems to be a true genius when it came to that game and same for sc2 to be honest. I wish he keeps on playing but if he doesn't enjoy it then I think he should quit since I don't really think that the community should turn their back on him if he were to do so. He can do whatever he likes really I support you tyler and hope you continue on playing as you truly are a great player and a person I've looked up to since brood war.
|
this is really unfair for tyler, you catch a glimpse of a personal conversation that just popped up clearly unexpectedly and you say you caught it 'live on stream', which somehow makes it right? not cool.

Why would people post something like this, he could just be really frustrated right now, and just venting his feelings that aren't meant to get out to the public. I feel so bad for tyler right now, this thread should not be here.

Seems the OP has corrected himself. Removed the picture and edited it a bit, but regardless imo thread should still be closed at least.

Hearing tyler on SotG every week, he's been sounding like quitting for a LONG time now, it wouldn't surprise me at all.
He just sounds so depressed at his performance, he seems to strive for the top all the time, but beign frustrated loss after loss. He just seems to take them with a LOT of pain, I don't think this is psychiologically healthy, and I think this progressively hits your performing capabilities.
It would be a sad day, but if Tyler thinks his time in SC is over, well, GLHF to him in RL issues, maybe he's found more important things in life.
|
This thread is not okay. Do not speculate on a conversation that obviously was not meant for anyone to see. If Tyler quits, TeamLiquid will announce it, not this thread. Tyler honestly has no reason to stream again after this. Him streaming is a privilege for us to see his amazing play, and you may have just ruined that for all of us.

I share these thoughts as well. SotG even joked about him being lazy and never practicing anymore when he wasn't on the podcast, so this didn't surprise me one bit.

...he was being sarcastic.

Im not really surprised, he became the best foreign SC:BW player winning TSL2, then moments later SC2 is out and he has to start over and everyone switched their focus.
Gotta mess with your head being so dominant in a game then not do as well in the sequal, maybe he has simply lost motivation.
|
Don't really care that much if he quits. He wasn't one of the best pros anyway, just hyped a lot.

not from you're mouth or the OP's.
If he really is quitting it has to be from Tyler himself or TL administration.

However, to treat the OP like a criminal and spew some of the hatred I've been seeing...

You're trolling right it's nony hes awesome.

Just to get this clear, I don't condone this thread as it's based on a private conversation. However, smack talking the user who made the thread isn't really cool either. The information got out though it shouldn't. He wasn't the only one who saw it since it wasn't even his snapshot of the stream etc. Also it seems to some that he's already decided to quit. What I got from it was that he's considering it and as for speculations I don't think it's wrong to notify, if it's out there that is. However I feel that this thread will either be great as it shows how much the community cares for tyler. Or that it will be awful for him as something that he said privately now is out for the whole community and therefore people will try to interfere with his decision making.

I wonder if nony knows you dont have to be the best at something to make a living doing it. If e-sports becomes profitable he could do fine and do something less mundane than he would if he finished his last semester at Duke or whatever it was

Say it ain't so Tyler! Wanted to see you succeed when practicing the game full-time . . . well, whatever you gotta do, you gotta do.

No I'm not trolling, I just haven't played or watched sc:bw so I'm not hyping him like he is some outstanding pro. Cause he is not. He's just average and results show that clearly.
That said, he is nice on SotG

Are you serious? Tyler is a fantastic protoss. If anything, he is just trying to play the game at too high of a level to be successful yet. He is one of the only players who I see that is trying to figure out safe openings against every build and transitioning from them into beautifully timed and planned macro games. Tyler never misses a warp cycle, never lets his macro slip, and plays at a near perfect level. The guy is a fantastic player at both games, and just hasn't done really well for what, a month or two? Most of the losses I see him accrue are just from trying to play too safe, which may not work out now, but as the game gets worked out will just get better.
Tyler deserves much more appreciation for his play, and I'm sure many of his opponents that beat him, would argue that he is better than them regardless of their victory.
Edit: I just saw your reply above mine, and try not to be so ignorant. Study the games, see why he loses, it is almost never because of a mechanical mistake.

I must say to both of you that the reason he was hyped so much was cause he was a great broodwar player. To Ragoo: Without people like Nony, you would never have something like Starcraft 2. People like him, Ret, IdrA and many others helped build up the starcraft community. They helped bring more awareness towards it and helped blizzard see how many people loved their game. So please give him the credit and respect he deserves.

From what I learn from all the interviews and stuffs about tyler, he's never a hard working individual, he's blessed with talents, but he stated that he can't bring himself to practice. How does he expect to win against other people where it counts?

Too many people here judge players based on tournament results and significant wins and that is ridiculous. Just listen to him on a State of the Game discuss strategy or anything in general. Just slow down to listen and you will hear how well spoken and knowledgeable he is about the game, the scene, and the community in general.
As a huge fan, I would be bummed to see him retire, but in the end as a fan I want him to make the decision that he thinks is the correct decision. I hope he stays as a player, and if not I wish he stays in E-Sports.

I woke victor up in the middle of his beauty sleep to see whats up :o . Was going to leave this open but its pure speculation based on tyler venting/being frustrated after a loss. He fully intends to go to events etc, it was just something that had been on his mind after some recent losses. Going to lock this until Tyler posts or Naz wakes up.
As for "censoring" reddit - i think the posts were removed out of respect for tyler's privacy. HB and I first saw this thing on reddit 20 mins ago and obviously its posted all over twitter etc - no take down requests or anything like that were made.
