Every Thursday at 20:00 CET live on ESL TV DeMusliM and myself present a show about his comeback after breaking his arm, Twice.
This is a remake from the previous topic, Let's not go there anymore :D, enjoy the previous episode's and we are back tonight at 20:00 , expect a revolutionary TvT analysis tonight.
Also tonight on 18:00, on ESL TV Dreamhack Champ Virus Naama and myself will analyze the patch a little bit and play a couple of games live on ESL TV. Hope you enjoy the show
Thanks for the show its so awesome. I really like the format and that you are splitting between replay commentating, fun games and gm games.
Also the TvP build he showed is awesome. I always had trouble to choose a good opening vs protoss and this one seems to hold of every protoss push as long as you somewhat scout it.
Best show in SC2 atm for sure =)! I really hope it continues for much longer, even if it means DeMu won't win any tournaments haha. I find you two together the best casting/hosting duo around!
best sc2 show besides day9 daylies its casual but educational as well and the atmosphere is pretty chilled though music sucks at least for my taste but doesnt matter that much keep up the awesome work would love to see u cast some events would be epic. u would be best casting duo ever

Actually find it even more entertaining then day9 daily, and it would be even better if they could up the stream quality abit.
On May 13 2011 04:32 Jetaap wrote: Great show guys , u make an awesome duo ^^. I wonder who you were imitating though , sounds like a french guy but couldn't catch his name.
<3 this show, totally unscripted, chaotic, and hilarious. These casters have some serious multi-task skills, answering questions, playing ladder, commenting on songs, crackin jokes..
LOL, love it. "what do you think of day[9] want to become more competetive again?" "well he was quite good in BW I heard" "for an american" "so he wasn´t..."
And stream runs almost smooth with my crappy inet at home
keep on the good work, really nice to listen and watch!
I will put this show in the top-3 of Starcraft shows right now, alongside Day9 and DJwheat, so awesome to see the process of Demuslim coming back. Rotterdam and Ben also go really well together, there's never a boring moment.
On May 13 2011 05:13 Glimred wrote: Alright, now who can translate what rotti just said?
He just thanked everybody for watching, and that he and Ben were going to go out after the show, to drink 1/2/3/4 beers. They had a couple of uhh 'meetings' lined up so it should be a lot of fun :p
only once a week, awesome guys, a lot of variety, good background music, nice matches with nice players -> this show is now definitely in my weekly schedule of sc2 streams!
The show was really good yesterday. Now i am going to have such trouble deciding what to watch whenever this is on.
One thing that would make this stream perfect is if you two would talk more specifically about the games, especially when scouting. This is the number on thing i learn when i am hearing pro players commentate their games is what information they are gaining through scouting.
Demuslim talking about what he picked up from scouting would be great. I agree that this is what is most interesting when listening to progamers talking about a game.
On May 13 2011 20:49 vilg wrote: rotti when will you have the vod from yesterday up?
I also missed the show yesterday. If the VOD will not be up in the next few hours, we will have to wait until next week, I'm afraid. From what I heard mentioned in the past, it seems to me there is only one dude at ESL that can manage the VOD part of their website. This tech guy will today have to travel with the rest of the team to their "Friday Night Game" LAN show. After that there is the weekend and he will only start working again on Monday.
This show is awesome, I became a demuslim fan after watching his play. and the show itself is amazing and rotterdam is a really cool guy always doing all he can for the fans. Hopefully they participate in the IPL or NASL next time or even MLG maybe with the new MLG GSL partnership we'll see demuslim go all over the world. Would be amazing.
Posted it in the old thread and will be posting it in this one as well. Really great show! It's always cool to see pros in a relaxed environment playing, talking about the game and having fun. Also Rotti and Demuslim are the perfect "cast" for the show.
Not related to the ESL show - but I'd just thought I'd point out that Demuslim is playing in ESL Daily Motion Cup Group G today - he's got Tarson, Nerchio and Grubby in his group so should be some epic games!

SC2 progamer I'd imagine.
IIRC he broke his arm by getting in a fight IN DA CLUB and falling badly then fell again and rebroke it. Might not be 100% correct however.
I heard he fought off 5 guys and a dog to protect Rotterdam, one of them later came to visit him in the hospital and broke his arm again.
I heard two lovely brunettes were being attacked by space lions and he had to break his arm so he could bend it in such a way as to shield them from the lions and eat a big Mac.

Maybe this is actually the dream and when he fell unconscious he returned to his real life as a pirate but he quickly got knocked out because of the evil man that is keeping him dreaming. It makes sense now. In order to keep his sanity and not forget what reality is he had to make a scar on his arm. His totem.

I wished that there would be more non gaming related viewers, who catch your display of fun and coollness, and who might afterwards change their view on gamers. Because as you see gamers can be dandy ballers . Cheers gentlemen!
Waiting patiently for this vod...loved the first three episodes. They were quite educational and I've definitely improved my TvP using the build demu uses. I can't seem to find this TvT strat people keep mentioning, though.
Yeah I had the same problem finding the week 4 vod. I couldn't even find it when searching the esl site. Thanks, Rowla, for posting it. That TvT strat is indeed solid and I've had great success using it.
Dont understand how he doesn't see how he lost to the infestors... In every battle there were 2-3 tanks. Against that number of infestors you really need a good spread of tanks, falling back with your bio. Also, if you're gna do drops don't send 3 medivacs to one place T_T. Send 2 to his main, then 1 to his furthest expo.. You do it in toss but not in TvZ .
You really need to go 2 factory quite early with double tanks and just marines.
With double the tanks in every push with just marine medivac and good splitting you'll be fine .

Demu so far good show. I'm really digging that opening
The VODs for All Eyes on DeMusliM just straight up don't seem to work for me. I see the video player but nothing ever pops up, and it says 0 hours and 0 minutes under 'Duration'. Can anybody help? I'd really love to watch this.
hey guys we go live in 5 min, not at 20:00 cet but 19:00, very very sorry for that, scheduling conflicts, and we wanted to make it 2 hours so this was the only option. ah sry didnt read that haha, thx for the updates already ^_^ <3
Is it me or is there a horrible reverb? I like hear 2-3 Rotterdams repeating each other and its incredibly annoying.
Nevermind, I figured out if I watch the video through the liquid player there is apparently other sound stuff besides from the video, so I popped out the video and closed the liquid embed.

But it's not as though his "stfu" plz" is some isolated message. Read over his post history and you'll see that most items are completely absent of meaningful content, or are specific to his own matters (NASL, etc). Sometimes they're both.
Yeah, it's pretty brutal to have to play a team mate so early in the tourney. Even incontrol voiced his disdain on the thought of it happening again before his Losira match...

I don't follow foreign scene too much but I'm sure demuslim is more popular than machine or lz especially in europe
To get some perspective, I was about 3 feet behind him (And TLO).
At MLG DC last year the sound boxes that you plug your headset into at MLG sometimes create the strangest feedback loops which createl ike, goulish noises in your headset randomly throughout the game. He paused to try to fix it, couldn't fix it so they played out game 1 where he lost and had no sound to play with.
Game 2 he won, game 3 he lost, gg'd out, and threw his keyboard down and some of the keys went flying. He stormed out of the venue clearly mad. Strifecro ended up doing well making it to winners round 4, Axslav is currently the last EG member in open bracket still with the possibility to make it to pool play since he is now in winners round 5 after his 2-1 victory at the end of today.
Lz lost to the infamous Richman or naMchiR, 2-1, in winners round 2.
That's sad to hear. Demu had to deal with really bad playing conditions at big offline events and he is not the best at dealing with that. Also he seems to be really frustrated with his vZ and team mates or not, I don't think Strifecro is the kind of player he would be ok to loose against.
tt, let's pray for the impossible, any top 12 finish would be very good giving the position he's in now, let's hope for the best ~_~

How much has he been practicing for this? I know i stalked his acc sometimes and I saw a lot of Star Striker football and only like 10 ladder games at most =| I may just have been checking at unlucky times
Hahahaha, has to be said, we did play a lot of football. But he actually played really a lot for his standards, was even close to rank 1 grandmaster europe, was rank 2 or 3 i believe several times, just in general he played quite a lot, hasnt been out much, just hmhm well ben is a little stubborn and it might hold him back a bit, just hope he gets his mind straight and still shows what hes capeable of, if not, you'll see it at dreamhack or HSC 3, atleast at 1 of the 3 he will shine.

Hey Rotterdam, I know this is off topic, but does Demuslim always play 4:3 monitor ratio instead of widescreen?
On topic, Demuslim (currently seeded in loser's bracket rd 2) will eventually have to play Strifecro again in an extended series in loser's bracket rd 6 if the brackets are correct.
I must have been near Zlasher for the series and didn't realize it, there wasn't a large group of us watching the game (7-10 people). We left after game 2 though

Well with the MLG format its pretty much impossible to come far if you are knocked down that early. I think Demuslim needs to win like 9 bo3s in a row now to get to the same place where someone is that lost ALL his games in the pool play. After that he would have to win another 10 bo3s to win the tourney. :D On top of that he will have to play an extended series against StrifeCro wich means he will have to go at least 3-1 against him.
MLG format totally sucks for everyone who isnt in the top 20 pool. :D

Emotion = BM, right?

im not going to argue that.
however it was a teammate who defeated him. raging that hard is uncalled for.
IMO its bm, when he shouldve brushed it off and shook the hand of his team mate.
apparently he stormed out of the place also, however i wont speak for that cus it could just be a rumor.. I wouldnt have cared if it was some random scrub... but a teammate? cmon bro.

Lots of tennis players smash racquets when they lose points against other players. Murray has done it against people like Djokovic, who is a practice partner of his, therefore basically like a teammate in SC2.
Ben was obviously annoyed as its his big comeback and he's struggling against zerg at the moment (like pretty much every terran). To hit a zerg of Strifecro's level in round 2, as well as it being a teammate, is probably pretty frustrating.
On June 05 2011 01:58 ptell wrote: Day[9] himself said he smashed his own keyboard in the past. Would you consider him BM?
Losing your temper and smashing things/screaming at the world/punching a hole in drywall is perfectly acceptable in the privacy of your room. Doing it in a live tournament setting is BM. "Would you consider him BM?" How utterly absurd; anyone is capable of losing their temper and being BM, that doesn't mean they are BM. Doing it every time would make you a BM player.
losing your temper isn't being 'bad mannered'. Having bad manners surely implies insulting or disrespecting the opponent in some way, whereas smashing a keyboard does none of those things. He said GG, hitting his keyboard in frustration at being knocked out of the upper bracket early in a tournament where he knows he could really make an impact in the latter rounds does not show 'BM'.

Your definition of BM is a bit skewed.... I would say BM would be anything that is BAD MANNERED towards your opponent.. not actions that aren't directed towards anyone in particular

To paraphrase IdrA a bit: "If you don't get mad when you lose, then you don't take the game serious enough". If he was cursing at him it would be a different story.
It wasn't BM, it was emotion coming through and was not even directed at his team mate.
its the same bm as when a tennis player throws down his racket. they get fined 5 figure sums for that at the big tourneys now.
That's a bad example, when a Tennis player get's angry/frustrated, the other player knows that he's frustrated and will lose focus and they will do everything they can to capitalize on that.
Seriously I sometimes think SC need to get a grip with the whole BM deal, so fucking quick to throw that shit out there.
Refreshing the brackets and EG twitter every minute for updates. Rotti - you should have splashed out on a ticket over there so you could give us play by play updates :p
It wasn't bad manners to smash up his keyboard. If he was doing it toward someone then it would have been. If anything he's just bad at dealing with anger/frustration, nobody likes to lose but most of the other players at events like this manage to keep it in.
My spidey sense is tingling. I feel a devil terran tear incoming...
LOL @ the people stating that demuslim was bm for getting pissed. It's not like he went over and started yelling at Strifecro. Who said he didn't shake or say GG to strifecro in person? They are on the SAME team and probably share the same hotel room while staying for MLG.
If you guys flew across the Atlantic Ocean, probably jet lagged, you're having tech problems, and you lose a match. You would get pissed too, whether you show it or not.

I am not exactly sure what happened but breaking your own gear because of frustration is definitely not bm. If you are frustrated why shouldn't you be allowed to show it as long as you aren't hurting anybody. This is as stupid as the NBA rules for technical fouls. Starcraft is a very intense game and it's very easy to get tangled up in your emotions after a game so these things happen naturally. Some are better at coping with it than others but come on you don't have to hide your frustration. I hope Demuslim can do better next time.
