He definitely worked hard to teach the players to kick the opponents heads when theyre down and act like as if it was a mis-kick. or did he tell the players to rely on bad calls for offside and disallowed goals? ps: the ecuadorian ref responsible for italy vs s.korea was banned for 20 games after that for playing 13 mins injury time instead of 6, which led a team to score 2 more goals for a win. and also gave 3 red cards to another home team he was refereeing in. Also, he got caught for smuggling 6kg of heroin at JFK airport last year and could be serving 6 years of jailtime. sounds like the kind of person to receive bribes...

This is "Korean soccer" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4iW8pDnft8 I have to agree with this. Not to be racist but the soccer culture in korea is a lot more contact-oriented than in the international standard. Even compared to places like England they play a very contact-oriented style. I'm sure this will change as the sport matures further over there. I don't follow soccer at all so forgive my ignorance of 'soccer culture,' but besides that dirty elbow in the beginning (I guess the ref missed it?) I didn't see anything except bad officiating and grown men acting like they had their balls hacked off from being grazed on the leg. edit: back on topic, get well soon Torch and lol MKP taking second again.

Np though, a broken nose is just straightened out and it's fine. The guy who he fell on straightened it out, and he was over night at the hospital for a mild conussion. I don't see why he's going to surgery unless it's fallen off or anything :S Sounds like a drama queen ^^

So now you're blaming the idiotic and rash actions of one player on the head coach? You're actually trying to defame Hiddink for circumstances that were beyond his control? Do you also think Scolari was responsible for Rivaldo play acting like he'd been shot? or Domench was responsible for Zidane's headbutt against Materazzi? You don't give yourself much credit by flinging around such baseless and senseless accusations. Anyways, I won't derail this thread further by arguing with you here. If you have anything actually credible to add, PM me.

Was going to mention this about the injury time... that game would have went on until Korea got through. Absolute travesty of a game. Everyone knew it, had it been hosted in another country Korea wouldn't have gotten the Injury time or gotten through. And I'm a Man Utd fan and we Have Park Ji-Sung play for us and I say this. Football injuries happen all the time, regardless of level. I know plenty of kids who broke bones etc just having a kick around with friends, and plenty of professionals who suffered terrible injuries too. He and another player were going for a header. They apparently were coming at each other from a 90 degree angle. Torch says they both probably didn't see each other since they were looking at the ball. Torch: "I went up to head the ball and closed my eyes (Doa wonders if it's normal to run full speed at something and close your eyes) and the next thing I knew I was on the ground and bleeding." It's all bandaged up right now, but he doesn't look like the elephant man or anything. (yet) He needs surgery next week to fix it. ' So there you go. I'm handling the movie/book rights for the event so please contact me if you've prepared a script or draft.

Also, a lot of players close their eyes when they jump up for a header. I don't know why but I guess they are afraid or something. You see it a lot in matches with younger players. :D
