Interesting. I'm looking forward to B,D,E. and H the most. Hopefully we'll flesh it out and get some more zerg and Toss up in Code S.

Good choice by oGsTOP
Either way, this can lead to interesting matches. I hope that FOXMoon can make it true, but I have my doubts...
|
omg poor sCfOu. That looks like the worst pairing. July and Cezanne have it tough too. GL to those three!
|
2nd game should be loser of match 1 not winner
|
Anyway we'll be able to see them?
|
sCfOu... I pray for you

Could someone clarify the format? Out of the 2 Code S players, the first player only has to win 1 game out of a Bo3, then the Code A player goes on to play a real Bo3 against the 2nd code S player? And the code A player has to win a Bo3 against 1 of the 2 players to move on to code S? If the code A player goes 2-0 against the first code S player, does the code S player have to beat the 2nd code S player in a Bo3? Or does he only need to win 1 game? I just confused myself.
never mind the other thread answered this.

You have the top 8 Code A players against the bottom 16 Code S players in a 3 player group, where two advance to Code S while one stays in Code A. As an example, in group H, if OgsTOP beats LegalMind, then OgsTOP will advance to Code S, while LegalMind and sanZenith play against each other to determine which stays in code S. If OgsTOP losses to LegalMind, then TOP will play against sanZenith to determine which goes on to code S.
At least, that's how I think it goes.

...either Makaprime or Fruitdealer won't be in Code S next season... maybe even both. That's ridiculous!

Actually they both could remain in code S, if they finish ahead of SCfou.

It's a group consisting of FD, Maka and sc.
Of each group 2 players will advance and 1 will stay in code A. So I don't see how both of them can go to code A.

Oh right, I misunderstood how it worked. I thought only one could advance. Cheers for that

Hm, interesting - Hope Maka stays Code S, I'm sure he will play good Would have been neat to see the new maps though? :x
thanks for translating

I don't like the ability of the top 2 code A tournament winners to pick the players in their group. The incentive there is to pick the two weakest players, which means that one of the weakest players is going to remain in Code S.
Like, either sanZenith or Slayers_LegalMind is going to remain code S. But one out of July, Rain and Kyrix is going to be sent down to code A.
|
There will be more Ts and maybe some Zs this season (and less Ps). Pretty much the only Terran loss I could see is Lyn/Polt and Maka/sC.

thx for information but what time in KST?

|
LEENOCK!! omg please dont get knocked down to code A, my fav. player ^_^ so young.. raeeeeppppp

So many potential oGs teamkills...

wow at group F and to think SC actually managed to go to semi final of code A and his rewards is FruitDealer + Maka
and group H is interesting to see how long SanZenith will play this time (another < 10 minutes games ? :D)

IMO Bleach's picks were better thought out than oGsTOP's.
in his setup he picks who he thinks will be an easy match for him and then a teammate who he hopes to give a better chance at staying in Code S (in the hopes they can both beat the 3rd player).
oGsTOP just chose 2 players he thinks he can stomp. IMO it would have been smarter on his part to pick out one of his teammates, (Inca maybe) and have it so they both get code S after beating either sanzenith or legalmind. The way he chose, he will almost definitely advance, but so will either sanzenith or legalmind. For a player so confident in his ability to get into Code S he acted rather selfishly in his picks.

im only excited to see SanZenith Play.
|
I'm so looking forward to see SanZenith vs. Legalmind. San might even stay in code S, that would be just awesome.
|
Anyone else think it's weird the Code A guy gets an advantage over the lower-seeded Code S guy? Two losses versus one loss before being demoted.
|
Groups E, F and H have players that you get surprised by seeing them, especially FruitDealer T-T

What about for code A? Do the worst players of code A get knocked out to let new players in?
|
^ Yes. I don't think those games are broadcasted though. Also: 4 foreigners are guaranteed spots in Code A.
|
On January 26 2011 07:08 FaceBones wrote: What about for code A? Do the worst players of code A get knocked out to let new players in? There is a code B, we don't see; it seeds the top 172 players who register, based on the Korean Server Ladder Rank. Those 172 players play the group B tourney, and are fighting for 12 spots that open up in Group A (as the bottom 16 are dropped, and 4 spots are seeded based on foreign tournaments). I'm not sure if the 16 players that are dropped from code A have a similar chance as the code S with up and down matches vs the 12 winners from code B; as this has never been stated.
|
When are the code B matches?
|
liveforever is protoss now?

Not sure, but just like the first 3 GSL qualifiers, Code B matches aren't televised. Code B is basically just Code A qualifiers.
