We also had some Diamond v Diamond and Masters v Diamond show matches, with bronze people watching and learning. After the game the higher tier players told the bronze players what to look at in their play. I've also agreed to look at the replays of some newer players, helping them find what to improve upon. Thing is, the whole "BUILD WORKERS AND SUPPLY" advice is sound and all, but for a newer player that's like yelling "FLAP YER BLOODY ARMS AND LEGS" when they're drowning. I was also thinking about organizing some sort of "newbie team battles". As an example, Me and Eldrythan (masters and Diamond), will be taking 3 bronze-gold leaguers, and battling them against each other, while giving feedback and help at the same time. This will familiarize the newer players with some healthy competition, making the ladder a less scary experience. We were even thinking about setting up some Skype/TeamSpeak/Ventrilo groups in order to help people real time. Personally, I think that this channel is one of the best things that has happened to the community in a while. It really goes to show what can happen when nice, helpful people get together in a channel, and just enjoy the game.

for instance, i have a bronze account given to me by a friend who quit sc2. with it i have discovered that hydralisk rushes are viable vs bronze terrans. but that isn't a sufficient strategy to take me to higher skill levels, since hydralisks actually really suck vs master terrans. if i were a low level player going by what i learned at low levels of play, i would constat so i'd suggest maybe seeing if you can get a master league player to pop into chat sometime to teach you a few things, or maybe you all could take a concept from a day9 daily and just spend a few hours practicing that against each other.

We have 3-4 "regular" Masters/Diamond people there, me included. Don't worry, we are teaching these newbies how to work the basics as well. ;>

For instance, one of the most (if not the single most) useful things to practice at lower levels is maintaining consistently good macro practices during your games, and if you have two people going into a game with that goal in mind, you're not going to end up with loads of cannon rushes, 6-pools, and bunker rushes. Not to mention, being in custom games where you're both out to learn takes a lot of the "I need to win this game" stress out of the equation, which allows players to focus more on their learning goals while winning takes a temporary back seat. Good luck with the continued success of the channel. If I had access to an EU account, you'd definitely find me there.

First of all its my first post here so "servus leute". I found out about the chat here on TL and it really helped me a lot to get immediate feedback on my games in a non-stressful environment. (Not like ladder for example).

Sounds like a really nice idea, especially if there are already some master/diamond-players joining in. I'll definitely stop by to help some of you in case I'm tired and don't feel like practicing myself. Maybe ask an admin to edit the title of the thread to something more insightful like "EU-channel: Bronze practice". This way it seems like you are a bronze player looking for practice partners.

Going to bump with this posts though so more people like me see this thread/channel and will lounge around in it. I think this type of thing could be the best thing to come from chat channels.

Sounds like a plan, I wouldn't mind stopping by to give a few pointers (I'd consider myself mid-diamond, maybe edging towards high). The community is absolutely awesome and we regularly have 50-60 people in chat, i have seen 87 in at one point.
