So I was listening to State of the Game and he mentioned he was interested in casting some tournaments... Is it just me or would that be totally awesome ? The guy is as funny as a barrel of laughs every time he opens his mouth. Anyone got an idea of a tournament we could try to get him into casting ?

I would not shit bricks but he has a great casting personality and it would be swell.

As a matter of fact, he is a VERY GOOD caster, like, really above the average casting quality we se arounds there. I remember watching those showmatches (gosucoaching, i think, or something similar), that he casted, and they were so good

I love Incontrol, he's always on the ball regarding entertainment and hilarity, especially in this week's SotG he was on fire.

I would rather see him playing in more events instead of casting, his play is fascinating and I personally can't get enough of it. It sucks seeing awesome players quitting playing to commentate.
Have you considered the MMO-Champion forum? You are just as irrational and delusional with the right portion of nostalgic populism. By the way: The old Brood War was absolutely unplayable

I always hear about how casters are always very busy and that casting takes up a lot of time. If Geoff were to blow up with casting would this mean he is going to cut down on playing? An obvious one would be if he is casting a tournament, chances are he isn't playing in it.
I get it.

I like iNc's casting style. Very fluent, entertaining and without long periods of silence while providing detailed enough game analysis. However, I am not sure how you want to get him a casting opportunity. So far it seems as if the casters set up their streams first and then gather a following by streaming various tourneys.

If he wants a casting gig, he could get a casting gig. He doesn't need our help. He's very talented, and I hope he does cast more tournies, but there's no need to make it happen for him.

GSL goes at a much slower pace than the majority of tournaments.

He does so much already in terms of coaching, competing, and creating content, that he would literally need to warp space-time in order to go full swing into commentating as well. Of course, I'm sure he could threaten God a bit and get it worked out.

haha thanks guys It's true a lot of doing commentating comes from self-motivated work like getting a stream etc. That said community support DOES help tremendously. When people are putting together tourneys and considering commentators it's easy to go with the ones already out there like day9, wheat etc.. so a lil community pull helps make them lean towards me as well.

Tune in this weekend for the Battle in the Bronze for an idea of what I am capable of. Additionally check out a showmatch or two I will be casting sometime soon

What? GSL goes at breakneck speed compared to BW Starleagues, at the beginning there are like 9 matches in a day =/

To be honest I think the SC2 scene needs less casters. There's almost as many casters/streamers as good players.

Inc does a lot of segments as we speak while he coaches and plays. If anything you shouldn't spread yourself thin.

Casters and streamers are very different things. Too many streamers, perhabs. But we could use some quality commentators, and yes, I mean the analytical ones.

YES I want incontrol to cast games. Hmm it is a bit too much though to ask for him. It will end up like with day9 that they'll do so much eventually that they'll need breaks to catch some breath. But I definitely would want to see inc have some tournaments to cast. I watched that mlg video and it was not bad. Didn't really see his personality like SotG (would've been too much to ask anyways) but it does sound professional.

Day9 needs to promote u a bit incontrol :x Or do some daily with him. I can already imagine all the jokes and laughter :D a funday monday with Incontrol LOL.

I am all about this idea. Lately (not naming names) I've been muting the stream of a few casters and listening to music instead because I am not a huge fan of their voice or personality. If it was iNcontroL commentating, I can't imagine ever muting it because I'd be too afraid that I'd miss some great insight/great insults. Let's make this happen.

Anyways I'd love to see some tournament casting by Incontrol. He's knowledgeable, plus he's funny so I'm 100% cool with it.

Hopefully he won't give up his progaming carreer though

but, yeah thanks for the heads up incontrol about your possible delve into casting, the more the better and your personality could work perfectly for the job. Hope to see some in the future.

Inc, why don't you just make some Youtube commentaries and see how it goes? You would easily be the most knowledgeable caster on Youtube.

Also, I can see Inc becoming bigger than HD or Husky.

I think Incontrol will make a good commentator. He has a rougher personality and if that transfers into his casting I think it will make him a very entertaining.

I also wish him a lot of luck in his casting this weekend.

Did i just smoke something, or did incontrol call hellions banshees like 5 times?

but, yeah thanks for the heads up incontrol about your possible delve into casting, the more the better and your personality could work perfectly for the job. Hope to see some in the future.

Honestly, that's really JP's fault for not telling him about it. If Tasteless said a force field was a stasis, the 2nd time he said that he would let him know.

No one could pull off such opinionated casting as EGInControl could. And that's why we love him!

Hopefully he won't give up his progaming carreer though

ps: dammit I spilled cola on my keyboard

Are you serious, is that really worth posting about to you?

iNcontroL if you cast something awesome I'll mold my shit into bricks, fire them in a kiln, and build you a summer home in France with them. It would be nice to see you do something big like MLG (obviously have someone else take over while you play, Artosis style), or maybe in a rotation like MLG Raleigh.

Perhaps......he would definitely have to tone it down a bit he's pretty insane and overwhelming compared to regular casters. It's all about the teamwork, he won't be flying solo. SoTg was hilarious but again same scenario, that's probably just his personality. I enjoy it cause hes an awesome dude, but I'm reluctant on how well it would work. Tasteosis even itself, you have Tasteless cutting off Artosis's analysis a ton lately, it gets a bit frustrating since he's not that side of the coin but is trying to be because of the criticism of him over-agreeing with Artosis, and such.

Literally, he has to get "IN" Control, cause he goes wild usually. (Har Har I made a funny!)

I will definitely tune in to the Battle of the Bronzes. Incontrol is hilarious and I'm excited to hear how it goes. I would also love to hear him commentate on high level games, I reckon he'd be a top notch caster for that.

A Friendsday Wednesday guest host spot, perhaps? Gotta sneak him in to a Daily somehow!

Time and a place etc. I can commentate completely seriously or I can be comedic. Usually it's something inbetween. Anyways check out some of the events to come!

Check out TL-attack man trust me there is the comedy gold component that you are hungering for there when applicable.

P.S. TL-Attack can be found on youtube on nevake's channle I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong... Actually fuck that I'll check it right now. I was wrong it's on teamliquidnet's channel. It's TL-A season 3 episode 1. And it is the show of a lifetime.

Sorry but i find this post a bit silly i seriously love husky hd and jp but realistically speaking im only 2100 diamond but some of there comments and just general lack of knowledge and missing important things lead me to steer away from them and focus more on day9 and things that i can "learn" while i watch.

At first i didn't really like incontrol i had heard him a bit before and found his comments to be elitest but then after a while i really warmed up to his comments and humour i like a person who is able to express how they feel and not worry about what others think. I hope incontrol you stay HONEST to yourself look at the Artosis and Tasteless casting it is seriously some halarious stuff i love it, the pokemon thing, artosis reading out the names, just everything is done in a very nice fun enjoyable way, dont make a 100% serious cast because in my eyes thats not you Incontrol i can tell how much you LOVE having a joke, and thats why you won me over brother, stick to your guns !

but seriously, i'd like to see incontrol replace artosis. I think him and tasteless good have good humor synergy at least. Also artosis is bias as hell and seems to commentate not so much about the knowledge of the game but the drama of the game. I'm not saying hes a starcraft moron, cause he isn't, but watching the big commentators for other games they seem 1) charsmatic 2) funny in some way 3) NOT bias 4) Really honest in commentating.

Artosis just jizzes over big names

that's not to say i think INC would do a poor job as a commentator! If there's anyone I'd like to see apart from already established casters being able to make a living out of commentating starcraft2 It'd be incontrol for sure.

Incontrol's commentary on SOTG or previous casts he has done shows how good he is at it.

1 Very entertaining to listen to
2 Deep knowledge of the game
3 Very professional attitude towards SC2 since it is what he does for a living.

I can tell you I did the same thing, and DJWheat gave this convoluted description of his setup. I didn't get anything from it. So I bought a Blue Yeti. I think it's easy to use and sounds pretty good. It was $100 even. http://www.bluemic.com/yeti/ I told DJWheat about it and he said he used to use that and liked it. I think for casting and streaming, you're not going to get much value going >$100.

I believe this is the one that Day9 uses:

http://www.bluemic.com/snowball/

And he sounds really good on his Dailies and SotG.

Good luck on the mic findage. There is nothing bad about being able to hear your rants better. Especially the ones about horses. :D

And doing a very decent job as well, he certainly has the potential to be a very good commentator.
forgottendreams: One underage girl, two drunk guys, one gogo dancer and starcraft 2. Apparently just another day in Europe.

Speaking of incontrol casting, is any new TLAttack planned anytime soon?

I'm definitely down for more casting/commentating by iNcontrol. It's pretty clear listening to Geoff that he's a very articulate guy, he's pretty smart and he can obviously be fucking hilarious if he wants to.

I'd love to see inc cast a few MLG games, if he loses early (not that I want you to lose Geoff )

I think for casting and streaming, you're not going to get much value going >$100.

hahahaha! It's totally an ego thing. ;D Getting a really nice headset and good computer is the easiest way to deal with everything, Geoff. He has a really complicated setup with an excellent final result, but he has been doing this for a long time and does a lot of research on everything. If you're looking to do it long term, definitely seek his help on the matter. I baffled everyone in TSN back in the days, especially Marcus when I used a 15 dollar compaq stick mic with a paper towel on it that sounded fantastic. >_<

If I may add to this... Basically any condenser microphone will provide a fairly high quality input. the only thing is you will have to deal with ambient noise when you upgrade to a professional quality microphone.. A pop--filter is always a good investment especially if you plan on being energetic because it will take care of a lot of the clips and pops that can occur when your voice clips. Using basic audio editing software like Audacity even can help you clean the vocal quality and keep it at a constant level to make things sound more professional as well...

Editing in a little more.. I'm at work so I'm bored...

There is also the choice of omni-directional and directional type. I personally prefer omni-directional because of the noise in my room (being without a proper sound room) and it seems to have slightly less feedback while in open spaces.

Just some things to throw out there.. I can link what I actually use if you are curious.
