Yet here is a healthy amount of Protoss in the Korean Top 200.
Korean players must suck to let that many Protoss players through!

Doesn't look like it here though, maybe things have already started shifting a little. Edit: actually last week they were 70, this week 66. So I think inC just got it wrong ![]() Still <3 you Geoff also 40% of the korean diamond ladder is Protoss ![]()

Edit: also, since you said that he is a korean citizen, its unquestionable that he is korean, no buts. And you can't even assume that his got an american citizenship since korea doesn't allow dual citizenship. But in the starcraft sense, he is not exposed to the same training as players in Korea therefore he should be a foreigner.

Yet here is a healthy amount of Protoss in the Korean Top 200. Korean players must suck to let that many Protoss players through! Good players will be at the top, regardless of what race they chose. That doesn't mean the game is balanced. The representation at the top of the ladder is approximately the same (slightly less) at the moment as the overall % of players who chose protoss as their race. However, this doesn't mean that this one statistic is representative of the state of the game - simply because it more closely represents the game as you see it. There are many statistics which show Protoss is struggling, and a few (like this one) which show they are on even footing - and I don't believe I've seen any relevant statistics which show them being ahead (aside from win %, which as many have said previously, isn't really relevant). What would you infer from this?

What would you infer from this? Yes and the evidence against them is ~4-6% disadvantage and not winning in tournaments/doing well in GSL. I don't mean to go off on a tangent, it's just I'm sick of so many people having this "Protoss sucks now, losing as them means nothing because they're underpowered" attitude because of GSL, when clearly professional level results mean nothing to them.

THat may be a reason for the drop as Incontrol was not entirely used to the style played on the Korean ladder and IdrA's MMR rating would face some stiff competition Nope. I did very well on IdrA's account and even better on Artosis' account. IdrA's drop is because he is trying out other things but also because ALL korean P's/T's do 4 gate all ins and 2 rax proxy marine/scv play. It's really lame there atm for Z players.

Another of note - out of the top 64 of the 1500 who tried out for the GSL, how many toss are still alive? Second note: beating protoss is still meaningful because 90% of games are not determined by slight power tweaks to individual units - they are determined by positioning, macro/micro and overall understanding of strategy. Anyone not competing in the GSL currently who's telling you that the reason they are losing has only to do with their race is only making excuses for poor play.

Protoss players on Korean ladder just cheeses or all-ins all the time. Only about 10 left in GSL I think =S

Select came to the states from Korea so he already had Korean citizenship, and since its not hard to obtain American citizenship he most likely is a dual citizen.
