WoW is mind cancer please do not suggest another human being plays that abomination, it's like recommending crack to a child.
All I can suggest you do Lime is to take a break, 2-3 days. Get relaxed and refocused then jump straight back in. No hessitation, no thinking about the ladder points... just straight back in as you were when you was 2600.

Play some other game for a few days, preferably a game like CoD or Halo, a real casual one, dont even think about starcraft for 2-3 days. No replays, no TL, nothing. Then come back to the game and you should have gotten rid of the losing mentality or whatever. If you're still losing then i really dont know what you can do.

When i start going on a loosing streak i sometimes play team games 4v4's etc just because they are less stressfull. Or I go do something else like play black ops?
Just dont try to dewell on the fact that you have started loosing. Try to do something else or maybe ask to practise with friends about what you are having trouble with?
|
Stop playing for a while. I would imagine you're thinking you'll get worse if you stop playing but you'll probably start winning again after a 2 day break.
|
Take a break from the game for a few days. The time away will help your mental health alot. Hang out with some friends. Exercise some.
Just avoid the game for a few days.
|
Watch a replay where you won just before you started on your loose streak. Check what you did right.

I would have expected a 2600 diamond player to know how to act when losing a lot. Rather surprising really.
Anyways to help you; the number ONE reason why people go on losing streaks, is because instead of thinking about the game they're in now, they're still thinking about the last game they lost, resulting in them not concentrating and doing very stupid mistakes. Then they lose, and play another game, and are again not concentrating on the game they're in now, resulting in another loss etc. etc.
This is at least how I've completely stopped myself from going on losing streaks. It's extremely hard to do, especially if the 2nd, 3rd, 4th guy you play does some Protoss cheese or something like that and you're still not quite focusing enough on how to beat him and instead thinking of how OP speedlings and mules are. But it should help.

The same as when you have losing streak in poker.
You take a break.
Also losing streak leads to bad confidence which leads to swtiching up BOs and playstyle non-stop which just spirals till you play against suckers.
Take a break of a week and look at old replays so you can start doing what worked again. Or look at the MLG replays for new shit etc.
|
Dude, I can feel your pain from reading the point difference in your post. You just on a very bad streak that is not very accurate rating of your overall skill. You gotta take a break man and go back pumped.

When my confidence is shot (as it was recently with Terran) I stop playing ladder and focus on practice games with partners. I play random but as Terran I was struggling against Zerg, im only platinum but I found a few Zerg partners most of whom were mid diamond and better than me in general.
After playing against them a lot, analyzing the replays and seeing that even though these players were much better than anyone I faced on ladder I actually wasn't doing that badly, sure I lost almost every single game but it was by no means an easy ride for them, it was purely a lack of confidence, moving out at the wrong times, desperate attacks from me.
After that I went back to ladder and no longer found the MU hard as I knew I could deal with players better than those I would meet on ladder, I guess it would be harder for you to find practice partners of better skill than yourself but equal skill would work just as well.

I have found on the the best ways to bring your game back is to take an extended break. Many of the things that are sorta automated that are losing you games will break, and you will start with a much clearer idea of what you want to accomplish.

Watch out...Banshee's
I'd either go on my silver account and bash noobs (lol...it's so fun) or if you don't have another account then just play custom games against lower players and just do the old "punch the pillow" type thing just with noobs :D
However If you're REALLY feeling like you can't win no matter what then just stop for a while. Like what just about every other poster in this thread has said.
You'll be back soon Lime

The situation you`re in is probarbly a result of you playing to WIN instead of playing to IMPROVE during your way up to 2600. Think about that...

assuming your zerg
yup, im losing alot more often now to all in marine/scv rushes more than ever before.
i'm on like an 8 losing streak right now, and i haven't played in like a week. i think the best thing is to just take a break, or play some custom melee against bad players

On a more personal note, Limenade, You are a great player. Dont let these losses get you down. In my opinion, just take this weekend off and come back with a fresh perspective monday. I guarantee after a few days without the 'craft you will be play much much better and your games and practice will be much more efficient.
on a side note, I'm using a different account on sc2 now but i'll hit you up on it soon, if you think you need some practice just msg me.

Whats helps me is that I take a break and watch streams of good players playing my race. Something U might notice something that he/she does that can help me improve.

Personally when I get on a loosing streak i do 5 things -
1. Brake something in blind rage
2. take a hour brake
3. watch latest day 9
4. Play in my random 3 v 3 where i had bombed my placements ( Bronze league ftw )
5. play 10 1 v 1 custom games if I don't win at least 6/10 return to step 1
|
Just take a few days off, come back, play some random team games like 3v3's and 4v4's as well as some customs and just see how your play feels. If you're feeling good, go back to laddering, if not, keep playing customs and stuff. Maybe you need to switch up your style or learn some new builds or something?

There's so much truth in it, I can't even emphazise it enough!
It did happen to me a lot - you NEED to be able to focus 100% on the game you're in right now, if you can't do it stop playing, lie down and think about your loss. Most times you'll think about your loss when you lost against some stupid stuff and are angry. Like when I lose vs double proxy 10 gate in PvP I tend to forget my chrono-boost on 13, or take a late gas in the next match because I'm still not focussed enough. This is bad, very bad.

It might just have to do with your strategies/bo's. I've found that strategies get outdated really quick right now and suddenly shit doesn't work at all anymore.
