My top suggestion would be to do something else for a few days and not think about SC2 at all. Then you can come back and start fresh.

First off, stop signing your posts. Second, chill for a while. Watch some VODs. Play some customs. Go back to ladder when you've regained a chill state ![]()

Give yourself a couple day break of playing to help ease tension. When you get back do a little newb bashing to pick your self esteem up. I am not sure if you are still going random or if you are just playing Z but stick to something consistent ![]() Best of Luck bro

Play to improve your play or play for just fun. Those are the only important things. If you have been losing alot and are beating yourself up about it, just take a break. The game is about having fun, not just grinding yourself into the dole drums. Besides what I have already said something more constructive is take a game that you think you could have won or was very close and do analysis on it, but from an unbiased 3rd party, basically trying to pick apart your flaws and areas you can improve. Thats about all I can say, the main point is, just relax, points mean anything, dont fall into the trap that most people do. You are not your ladder points and they dont define your strength as a player.

Saw the thread on main page, so I just had to click it, cause I was in the same position as you (not as long as you). I'm not at your 2600 diamond level, but this worked for me. I used to be Plat 1 like a month ago, then hit a huge losing streak for like 2 weeks straight.Watched streams and VODs and replays till I really felt like getting back in the game. I came back playing a different race (switched from P to T to Random) in like the Plat rank 20ish with a 400+ bonus pool to just get a renewed feeling for a game and get a change of pace. well enough of the life story. I say chill and don't worry about points. and switch up your race if you feel like getting a renewed feel of the game. or just chill and take a break. If you do, you can break some bad habits you're making because you have to re-adapt. Play some customs and such and just enjoy the game instead of stressing about points and ladder, because it makes you stuck on doing whatever it takes to win rather actually enjoying the game for it and winning as a result

ive been having these weird spikes as well. went from 2350-> 2050 then back 2350 then now ~2300. the problem is that one wrong decision as a zerg player can mean a loss. that + ladder seems to be a cesspool of cheese vs Z right now. every t tries to mass marines and every P will do some cheesy 1 base or 2 base all in (timing attack lol). my sugestion would be to just chill and play some customs with some friends. find some practice partners because right now ladder is just pure frustration for zerg players. the 2300-2700 bracket seems to be filled with the most ridiculous cheesers right now lol.

Playing when your alert, awake, eager, and calm is really important. Its very easy to "lose your head" if your on a losing streak, where you overreact or under react. I don't know enough about people to say what makes people feel confidence and calmness but those two criteria really help in making good decisions and as we know good decisions = doing well. I can say for me a quick shower, a good 's night rest, after a good work out, watching a good replay, all make me feel more relaxed and hence I'm eager to play a good game win or lose. this is true, i realised when i was losing alot i kept on playing trying to recover some wins but instead i just played worse and lost more.

That's why they have coaches. If you can't figure out why in the hell you keep losing, its time to get an outside opinion. Those guys charge because they can.

After I lose to someone who does stupid shit, and I feel like they don't deserve to win. I just close the game. Cool off for a while (could be a couple hours or a full day, depending on what happens the rest of the day) I just try to relax myself. Do something else for a while; it doesn't even have to be something SC2-related. Then when I'm calm, I go back, try to watch replays of my losses, see which decisions I did were wrong.

You obviously have no idea of what you're talking about. As for losing streaks? Don't think there's any 'good' solution, taking a break will work. If you keep on playing it will end eventually, but that will be more mentally taxing. Losing is good for learning and all, but there's a point where you aren't learning; merely beating yourself up and playing bad because of it. So yeah, if you think it's too much of a pain in the ass to keep playing just take a break. Play another game, play no game, whatever. A few days or a week should do it.

I've played you a couple times on the ladder. I remember you as a very decent zerg. Sad to hear that you've dropped to 2000. Gonna agree with kvz that the ONLY thing i see from protoss and terran are 1 base all in cheeses. Take a break and spend a couple day watching replays and analyzing your losses to better your decision making. Ironically enough, my rank shot up in the past week due to all the cheesing. Once you find the build and timings that block all the cheeses, you'll get back up in the ladder. Hope to see you winning again.

Get relaxed and refocused then jump straight back in. No hessitation, no thinking about the ladder points... just straight back in as you were when you was 2600.

Anyways to help you; the number ONE reason why people go on losing streaks, is because instead of thinking about the game they're in now, they're still thinking about the last game they lost, resulting in them not concentrating and doing very stupid mistakes. Then they lose, and play another game, and are again not concentrating on the game they're in now, resulting in another loss etc. etc. This is at least how I've completely stopped myself from going on losing streaks. It's extremely hard to do, especially if the 2nd, 3rd, 4th guy you play does some Protoss cheese or something like that and you're still not quite focusing enough on how to beat him and instead thinking of how OP speedlings and mules are. But it should help.

You take a break. Also losing streak leads to bad confidence which leads to swtiching up BOs and playstyle non-stop which just spirals till you play against suckers. Take a break of a week and look at old replays so you can start doing what worked again. Or look at the MLG replays for new shit etc.

After playing against them a lot, analyzing the replays and seeing that even though these players were much better than anyone I faced on ladder I actually wasn't doing that badly, sure I lost almost every single game but it was by no means an easy ride for them, it was purely a lack of confidence, moving out at the wrong times, desperate attacks from me. After that I went back to ladder and no longer found the MU hard as I knew I could deal with players better than those I would meet on ladder, I guess it would be harder for you to find practice partners of better skill than yourself but equal skill would work just as well.

I'd either go on my silver account and bash noobs (lol...it's so fun) or if you don't have another account then just play custom games against lower players and just do the old "punch the pillow" type thing just with noobs :D However If you're REALLY feeling like you can't win no matter what then just stop for a while. Like what just about every other poster in this thread has said. You'll be back soon Lime ![]()

There's so much truth in it, I can't even emphazise it enough! It did happen to me a lot - you NEED to be able to focus 100% on the game you're in right now, if you can't do it stop playing, lie down and think about your loss. Most times you'll think about your loss when you lost against some stupid stuff and are angry. Like when I lose vs double proxy 10 gate in PvP I tend to forget my chrono-boost on 13, or take a late gas in the next match because I'm still not focussed enough. This is bad, very bad.

You either cant focus on the game because of some personal issues or you lost one of your hands (which would count as a personal issue as well I guess). I just cant imagine that happening. Falling 100-150 points, ok, playing 5 hours and then end up right where you started, ok, but loosing that many points?? I wouldnt feel too bad. I know how once you're high enough playing feels like you have to bring 100% or it's not worth it but: a) It's just points b) Gives you a chance to work on your play without the pressure.

What I did was take a break for a week or two. Somewhere in there I caught the GSL, (bought the season ticket) watched intently. Started catching Day9 and some other caster / analysis. Started reading up on forums. Suddenly I was itching to play again. But I was rusty and intimidated. So I played on Brutal single player, got some achievements, played a few customs, then team games. Before I knew it I just HAD to play some 1v1. Sure I lost my first 5-6 games, as you'd expect, but I was chilled and had inspiration, and before I knew it I had won 30 in a row, then after a period of pretty good consistency I got rank 1 in my div. This cycle has occurred more than once ![]() The other important thing is to realise your points mean shit. If you are really way better than the level you're at, you will start crush some nerds and rank up swiftly. If you are about where you should be, don't be upset, just enjoy the game and learn to be better. As long as you win 50/50 you shouldn't get enraged again. When you do, take a walk for a day or two. As long as you're above 2100 or so currently, you're bloody good, and you're not a pro-gamer. Everything else is just e-peen. Enjoy being a participant in the game and what it gives you, and if you are really improving you can start using your ranking as a rough metric of that. But it's not a very accurate one unless your matchmaking is consistently the roster of MLG.
