I don't understand why most of you are so excited about the name TSL (Team SCV Life) for this new team. The TSL "brand" is already in use by Team Liquid in the SC2 field.
This will only cause confusion and can potentially harm the TSL (Team liquid Star League) in getting sponsors etc. Especially if the new team gets successful. Not a good situation at all.
In my opinion Team Liquid should do everything in its power to have the new team change it's name.

Are you being serious? The TSL tag isn't copyrighted under Teamliquid, and after all teamliquid has used Altitude as part of their series name. Asking someone to change their team name just because of TSL seems abit overboard, and besides they already tattooed that name on their arms

team liquid could always change to TLSL, dunno why the first L was dropped in first place

I'd say a pro team is a team where you actually earn money. A clan is just family.

Well, with TLA sponsoring TL it sure could be TLASL too

I'm very serious. Altitude is the sponsor and thus not part of the "brand" itself. Just as the first TSL was the Razer TSL and the second the Pokerstrategy.com TSL
Oh and if you REALLY believe they tattooed it on their arm you are very naive or they are very dumb.

They might have talent for sc2 but clearly they have bad taste in picking name for their team.

i would say a pro team is a team that makes you able to play the whole day and lets you live from that. so thath would be the case for ogs, prime and tsl, as they live in the teams house.
werra is just an online clan as far as i know.

I'm so exciting to see team names starting to pop up
Edit: I'm not actually going to fix that grammar fail as a reminder of to double-check my posts after a sleepless night.
Edit 2: "reminder of to double-check"? ._.

I don't know about the tattoo then. But seriously, asking someone to change their name? TSL wasn't even officially recognized by korea, i bet nobody in korea heard about it and thus they put the name TSL as their team name.
But of course if it belongs to TL then i don't know, you can ask them to change their name if you like, if you think that taking the name TSL would severely impact the name Teamliquid and affect us getting sponsors or something. But if thats the case, then you won't have to worry, cause Nazgul, TLO and Jinro would definitely pioneer the course of changing the name.

The name is stupid as hell
|
ahaha this discussion is too funny. try owning any rights to the name TSL before you can make such claims. and what you never seen different organizations don't have same acronyms before? you are the naive/dumb one
|
Yes there are a lot of different organizations that use the same acronyms but the difference is that in those cases (at least in all the cases I can think of atm) the organizations work in different branches. So there is no risk in mixing them up.
As an example let's look at HP. HP is the acronym for Hewlett Packard. A computer manufacturer. However it's also a brand of sauce. As both companies do business in totally different branches there is no risk mixing them up and they can coexist peacefully.
However if my name is Harold Powers and I start a company that builds computers you can be sure Hewlett Packard is going to sue me if I try using my acronym (HP) for the brand name.
I don't know how these things are regulated in the United States but in the Netherlands it's even unlawful to use the same or very similar name/acronym as somebody else in your branch of business.

asian awareness association v asian american association i wonder how they coexist

Nice, I was waiting for the confirmation of this team, and it obiouvlsy seems like it'll be a great team.
I can't wait to see the future of SC2 esports, as more and more huge names are making the switch from BW.

.... names shouldnt matter much. Just like the teamliquid open is tlo. No1s gonna complain abt this strange occurence and nor should they be bothered.
really interested in seeing who else might get picked up over the course of the 2010 gsl's
