Ok, this is my little fanfic/potential future:

EG asks their sponsor intel for money to make a SC2 league, and, since 5 MILLION DOLLARS isn't much for intel, a NA GSL is formed. California, being a HUGE center for gaming in the U.S. and the home of the creators of SC2, is chosen to be the location. The maps of this new GSL consist of the best Blizzard maps and the best ICCUP maps. Blizzard, not to be outmapped in their own country, hire more mapmakers and put the GSL NA maps on the ladder. Foreigners, being not even close to as cheesy as the Koreans, raise the metagame and popularity of SC2 to new heights. Videos are posted on youtube and soon subscribers surpass huskystarcraft. Soon stadiums are packed and TV channels are even being formed. NA becomes the new Korea and SC2 becomes more successful than SC1 ever was. Super special nerd dream: SC2 popularity draws more developers into PC gaming and consoles die off. Intel gets repaid for all it has invested.

If I could predict the future and this would happen, I would be smiling my entire life.
