Sorry, the replays are not organized and file names are in KOREAN. So, I strongly recommend you to get SC2gear or any other replay organizer to help you browse through replays and find out which one to watch. OR

My own cunning solution was to sort by date modified. At least in the pack I picked (zerg streak) it works out to 1 every 30 minutes or so and I suppose that's game order ...
Names inside are in english so I can then see if it's the person I know is goingto have a streak (Zenio). For now the games are consecutive wins by him so I guess that works out.

All these are replays from a popular Korean stream casted by "Gisado." (www.afreeca.com/bjgisado -> Korean, www.livestream.com/gisado -> English)

Terran is simply OP... the other races have to adapt depending on what the terran is doing, but terran can faceroll the keyboard and still pull a win.

Obviously Terran is quite OP, but what are the race distributions of the people participating in this stream?

I'm not commenting on TvX balance by saying this, but;
With 7 Terran, 1 Zerg, 1 Protoss.
We have 77% Terrans, 11% Zerg, 11% Protoss.
You would expect a much higher win rate for terrans, lower for P and Z.

Imbalanced or not? This doesn't show it.

What it does show... there are 7 Terrans, 1 Zerg, 1 Protoss. Noone wants to play Z or P?

Just like the Cologne tourney coming up, which has 8 Terrans, 4 Zerg, 4 Protoss in the group stages.
I daresay they're popular for a reason.

Just clarifying to avoid kneejerk reactions to those win rates. =)

No I mean Out of 9 players "who won more than 10 wins."

Obviously, many many people play in this stream, and I'd say race distribution is about even.

(Probably fewer zergs because zerg players are generally less than other two races).

No, that means that out of all of the 10 win-streak or more winners, 77% of them are Terran. This doesn't mean ANYTHING. We need total distribution of players that have participated in this stream to come to any conclusions.
A sound mind in a sound body, is a short, but full description of a happy state in this World: he that has these two, has little more to wish for; and he that wants either of them, will be little the better for anything else.

you terrans are right, this does not prove terran is over powered at ALL.

if the next unknown terran gets 50 win streak, it means NOTHING

Yeah, StC is really really good with his unique terran style.

But you also have to remember that StC was playing top players during 22 win streak including tester.

Well they are both former progamers, tester was by far the more accomplished of the two in BW. Dunno if that means anything in SC2.

Idra said stc wasn't playing as good as he should be given a progamer background, but after seeing his games it's ridiculous how good he is. Maybe he's just taking it more seriously now.

It's pretty much impossible for two players to have exact equal skill in starcraft anyway, so this point is retarded. Doesn't take into account map advantages either.

TheSTC barely did anything throughout his entire BW career.. maybe played a handful of proleague games with a mediocre record... while Tester was Estro captain, and an important part of their team while he was active.

That does point to balance issues unless there is a huge majority Terran on the stream (in which case we are looking at mostly TvT and who gets streaks). If it is played on ladder maps this can be either pure racial balance or map balance or (more likely) a combination of both.

Nice to see some good games regardless but it would be better if they were good balanced ones.

Nice to have some large amounts of games that aren't on matchmaking (so 50/50 win ratios) to check balance with ...

Like he said in a previous response (on the first page) the numbers for each race are about even (and watching this stream its a little bit of everything) except maybe zerg give or take a few.

I am rank 4 in plat league and want to my opinion that Terran is balance. The reason terran is imbalance people think is because of campaign. Many people play campaign and play Terran Protoss because campaign is Terran Protoss so more play play more Protoss Terran. Game balance only whine cheese with whine. My win rate... 51%. You call that imbalance? I say good play beat good player.

Tester just won a crazy TvT vs. InCa, and is now playing another TvT against Powerhouse.

There wouldn't be only 1 zerg and 1 protoss in the pool if zerglings did 50 damage and zealots had permanent cloak.

There's a reason why there are so few zerg/protoss. It's not like korean just hate the plastic looking models.

You guy's dont understand, these are the players that have had over 10 game win streaks only. There have been other players that just don't have that long of a win streak.

The point is that Terran is having the longest win streaks.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I'll say it again: there's only 1 zerg and 1 protoss in the list of players with >10 game win streaks.

That's not the entire list of players in the pool; plenty of P and Z players have played.

I've been watching theStC play and he is good for sure. But the "Amazing" play I've seen that keeps him winning seems to be mainly been drops that harass or kill structures at key times. That really isn't very hard to pull off as most know, but very hard to deal with (Tester would agree I'm sure lol). I've heard LzGaMeR say that marauders do too much damage to buildings, (armoured stuff) Sniping nexus' and hatcheries or tech buildings with 1 medivac drop is pretty quick & easy and can dramatically change or end a game pretty quick...

Doesn't really say anything. STC's streaks were essentially counted as 3 different players which doesn't make sense. So really it's 4x Terran 1x Zerg 1x Toss. I can see how it would be easy for players to read into this but it's too small of a sample size to be significant.

he's gone on several separate streaks, over 10, as terran. I'm not saying it's any definitive proof, but you guys are trying to chop up and analyze it to fit your own arguments.

Both the "Terran OP" and "Terran is fine" crowds.

Tester vs. oGsTheStC right now on the stream!!

And this time Tester actually picked Protoss (was picking T for the past 3-5 games), so it's a PvT.

but im sure the same zerg and protoss also had more than 1 shot at getting the winstreak going, if they would have made it a second time they would have been counted again as well

I've seen the games of Tester vs. StC. I wasn't really impressed tbh. There were game changing mistakes made in every game. I think that pretty severely disqualifies the games as evidence that T is too strong or something like that.

The current Korean pro scene isn't very good. Just look at the very recent InCa show matches. They're rife with mistakes and poor judgement, and Idra absolutely destroyed InCa when it was his turn.

There's always a chance when you think you have pressured your opponent but you havent harmed their army. Nexus deny was very good and he didint lose control of his macro meawhile. He won it completaly one sided with drops.

seriously StC is like a monster, his way of pressuring opponets is very exciting to watch I can feel the only match up he slows down abit is TvP.

About the zerg, StC really destroyed him with the zerg not realizing he started to build the bunker at top the game ended. altough I really think he could've avoided the other bunkers and kill the building scv multipe times.

Hahaha,

oGs is winning everything, but the Korean scene isn't very good ^^ InCa definately isn't their strongest player, he may actually be the "worst" they have. The multitasking as seen in the Tester vs TheStC game is unparalelled in foreigner SC2 I dare say

Just saw STC against a zerg and it wasn't even funny. Was like watching a pro gamer beat up on a silver league player. Hellion harass into proxy banshees and seconds after, more hellions with pre igniter. The poor zerg player killed 1 banshee and 3-4 hellions, lost his 4 queens, all his drones, his base and the game.

Now we see what happens when Terran players don't just turtle and mech ... as if we didn't have enough problems with the mech lol.

Our intent is not to have a game with broken balance in an attempt to sell an expansion. That should go without saying. It makes me sad it isn't.

Our intent is also to not apply knee jerk fixes based on the first few weeks as understanding of the game and strategies are still in flux. The game is young, and we don't feel that it would have been helpful to progressing peoples understanding by throwing in tons of fixes based on flavor-of-the-week (or day, or hour) strats.

We see a lot of variation between the regions. Making a change for how NA players play may be completely ridiculous for how KR players play, and actually mess up a balance there. For instance 10 of their top 20 players are zerg. So that's one place where we have to be mindful and careful and attack balance issues with great prejudice.

That said. There are balance changes coming. What everyone was seeing in beta with tons of quick balance changes are because it was in beta and we feel we can get away with throwing out a lot of 'we think this may help' type fixes. With a live environment we're not going to throw stuff out there unless we're pretty sure. We've played. We've looked at data. We've looked at each region. And then we act. Which isn't to say we may not be wrong from time to time, but it's a more measured approach than beta players may be used to or expecting.

He actually did use 1 transfusion, vs. the initial first two banshees at the natural expansion. He couldn't use more transfusions because his queens didn't have enough energy.

I doubt he knows anything about an upcoming patch. He's just making some neutral comment about how Blizzard will let the dust settle down before balancing.

And actually there was one too, not that it saved the queens but it probably made the difference between one dead banshee and no dead banshees.

The thing with transfusions is it requires energy, queens don't start at 200/200 (in fact they start 25 short of a transfusion).

The Zerg wasn't great (for a pro) but he played a pretty standard build, defended the hellions fine and would have defended the preigniter as well. He just wasn't expecting the banshees as they were a hidden proxy. That is something else Terran can do more easily than the other races.

It just came down to the Terran doing several kinds of harass with the ever present threat of a timing push (by the looks of it I would say the Zerg was thinking it was a hellion/marauder push on the way). Zerg couldn't get good enough scouting (and it really wasn't his fault, pretty sure he had an overlord get in and everything as normal).

I think that the bolded part may not be the most important part of the message.

Also remember that Bashiok just acts as a link between devs and players, his input about balance may not be 100% relevant, like his comment about korean top20.

The very fact units require tweaking, no matter how minor or major it may be, means something is wrong. If something is wrong, we're going to call it imbalanced. Seriously, did you read what you wrote before you posted it?

"My goal posts are 1 meter apart, and my opponents goal posts are 2 meters apart, while this requires minor tweaking to fix it: it's clearly fair for the time being."

yes it is.. have fun getting your t2 units crushed by t1 with t1 upgrades (stim). Yes even your t3 by t1 with t1 upgrades

That T2 T3/T1 argument is so false it hurts me everytime somebody uses it.

how is tvp not imba. from all the games i play against t, even if i outmacro i still have a very tough time winning. mmm with stim and concussive shells is just absolutely insane for how much they cost, and the rate you can produce them at. and if you have any detection, scouting is literally impossible..and we're stuck to guess what you're doing out of the like..10 choices you have. terran? couple well placed scans will do just fine. and don't get me started on emp...

There is a stream casted by a guy named "Gisado" on which a winner keeps playing (http://afreeca.com/bjgisado).

So far, terrans are dominating the show.

Statistics:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
List of players "who won more than 10 games in a row" so far:

7-30 MioWeRRa(T) 11 wins in a row
8-1 oGsTheStC(T) 13 wins in a row
8-8 허준과침제니스(T) 14 wins in a row
8-8 LenaPark(P) 11 wins in a row
8-10 oGsZenio(Z) 11 wins in a row
8-11 oGsTheStC(T) 22 wins in a row
8-12 Hansin(T) 19 wins in a row
8-16 Hyperdub(T) 15 wins in a row
8-17 oGsTheStC(T) 15 wins in a row

Out of these 9 players:
7 Terran
1 Toss
1 Zerg

Out of these 128 wins:
106 wins: Terran 82.81% (50 wins by oGsTheStC alone)
11 wins: Toss 8.59%
11 wins: Zerg 8.59%

*Statistic collected by "Starfruits" in korean playxp forum.*
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The two games recently casted by HDstarcraft between tester and oGsStc:

were from this stream.

I would like to share replays as well (and want to show others how STRONG oGsStc's style is), but Gisado doesn't allow replays to be shared outside.

The Terran dominating are very good players from what I've seen. I don't really believe they always had opponents that were as good as they are though. The players in this list tend to be more aggressive and the Terran are unrelenting with waves of harrass that eventually make it impossible to continue. If you are aggressive to them then they seem to shut down faster.

You need an account to watch anything on afreeca. They have stricter rules than you are used to regarding online identity. Only other option is if you have a mobile then you just can't chat so it bypasses the restriction.

From what I've seen, stc is really, really good. Do you have anything to actually back up your statements?

I watched 2 matches between tester and stc. Imo tester played better both games but lost both due to Terrans incredible flexibility. The matches are easy enough to find.

Anyways, GTR, can you keep "Gisado" name in the subject?

That was one request from him when I asked him for permission to upload replays here.

I have only watched a few of his games but the style seems quite similar to BrattOK (sp?) with the MMM loving the drops and 2 pronged attacks. A really fun style to watch but it kind of points out that Terran do Zerg better than the Zerg lol. More mobile, better defense back home and they take out buildings so much faster.

Sorry, the replays are not organized and file names are in KOREAN

So, basically you probably should get SC2gear or any other rep organizer and find out which one to watch.

Yea I did the same thing. Currenty I'm on game ~7 of Zenio's, and I've noticed one thing. Most of his opponents weren't very good. There were a couple of good Ts, but everyone else didn't seem to play very well. There was the one toss who 4 gated, and threw his 3 extra gates down right on top of the scouting drone, and then proceeded to completely botch his micro and lose the game. And then that one T who decided that making only marines with some reapers splashed in was a good idea vs banelings. Really the only ones that played with any competance so far are the Ts who meched. Maybe they are bad, or maybe Zenio is just that good that he makes them all look bad.

Im not too sure what you consider T1 and T2 units here. Sure marauders beat stalkers, thats called a counter, just dont spam a 4-gate stalker mass against someone going marauder, i mean seriously. (I wont comment on the t3 - t1 part since your sentence actually made no sense at all)

It just looks like you cant hold an early marine-marauder ball as protoss which is kinda terrible. T1 units are definately not the problem, usually a good mech is.

OT. Nice games, thanks a lot for the replays.

I agree with Zenio's opponents not being all that great.

I actually am not a huge fan of Zenio's style either, he goes for relatively early roaches then doesn't use them past the first few, late baneling nest, slow lair slow baneling speed ... especially against mass marine (which he scouted) this seems odd.

Did you watch his games though? Most of the opponents he played, the whole time I was thinking "Man this guy sucks, even I could beat this guy." Granted, there were a few Ts that were good, but all of the Ps so far sucked, and the one Z he faced... I'd rate that guy as low Plat. Zenio did a standard 14 gas 14 pool baneling bust, and the guy went fast lair and didnt even have any lings out until after Zenio's banelings were morphing.

Yeah, I agree that some games are not that great and short because literally every diamond league players can participate in (more stictly, top 1000 diamond leaguers).

I think these replays are more like for watching korean unique style rather than epic games.

But still, there are epic games too

Does anyone know who Zenio is? Is he from WC3, BW??
I'm such a fan, he makes zerg look op!

Yea, I don't mean to discount these games, I was just disappointed in some of the earlier games. There are some sweet games, I haven't yet gotten to theStC's replays, watching them in order for now until the US server is back up.

He's not really anybody. He played war3 with the hopes of going pro, but decided to just hold out til SC2 basically because it would be too hard to catch up. He started playing BW in early 2009 in anticipation of SC2 and got to A- iccup. I don't know if he accomplished anything in war3 as in semi-pro or anything like that (I know nothing about the war3 scene)

I have no doubts as to why he made them, I do think they are in fact too late when he scouts marines early. Also the speed helps banelings a LOT.

His opponent's are hit or miss it seems, I agree his one ZvZ that I saw was a Zerg player I could beat (tried some odd roach build without any baneling defense on the opening or any kind of buildings blocking ... got banelings in the mineral line and that's it). The last protoss I saw him play (I believe game 7) was good, FE build with the Tester wall in (attempted but Zenio stopped it), stalker colossus immortal from there on, scouts the hidden 3rd well and kills him.

Some of the Terran were good (as in, pro level), a couple looked like mid diamond.

If it's top 1000 diamond that makes sense.

As for Korean style, Zenio is actually quite passive I find (unlike say Check who plays a more aggressive Zerg from what I've seen).

edit: his next ZvZ is a lot better and shows the transitions out of ling/bling nicely.

He retired WC3 in early 2009. Although I don't remember him winning any solo events, he was moderately successful in team leagues and tournaments when he was in the Korean team, NGTV, and the Chinese team, ]eX[.

Thanks for this!
Excited to watch all these replays after work, really interested in seeing the top-tier Korean zerg play compared to what I've seen from top-tier foreign Zerg players.

From what I've seen of the sTc vs Tester games the style seems to be quite a bit more aggressive across the board for T and Z; however, I suppose I won't know about Z until I can watch Zenio's replays for myself in a few hours.

Hell yeah. He puts so much pressure on Tester and keeps him contained. I had to rewind the replay to see some parts again because so much was happening.

Perhaps it's easier to defend against variances of play as terran, thus easier to get long win-streaks, whereas protoss or zergs players die when they don't scout something.

I have watched most of the replays of TheStC. I think TheStC is significantly stronger than his opponents, including tester (micro, multitasking, defense, scout, and expanding). So it is not surprising that he has such long win streaks.

I'm surprised that no other terrans (there are a lot of them) use the fake proxy bunker thestc used. The enemy pulled like 6-7 probes to stop a marine, that wasnt even coming. Excellent play, really creative.

You got a point there. I was playing Protoss in BW but switched to Terran due to the campaign. Perhaps on the Zerg campaign I will be playing Zerg? Perhaps, I'm just playing for fun anyway. And for me to play Terran at the moment is fun, since I've never played Terran before so I got a 'fresh' feeling, not because of the imbalance.

Don't they need to make an TL account first? Anyways, it shouldn't be hard to set up since CellaWeRRa got his livestream up there pretty quickly.

Also, they need to increase their max viewers to more than 50 :/.

If anyone doesn't feel like rummaging through all the replay packs I uploaded all the games from the first 3 replay packs separately here, and organised them into lists based on race match up. If you download them from here then the file names will be in English, but they probably aren't in chronological order.
I mostly organised them like this to help myself out but I thought someone else might appreciate it so I posted them, I might add the other replay packs too when I get round to it.

Hey, bringing you TL folks the replays of the Gisado Stream for 8/30 - 8/31:
[url blocked]

This days stream basically had all protoss matchups, 22 games in total, 9 PvP, 6 PvZ and 7 PvT. It also includes part of the player choya (P) 19 win streak. (I think he is rank 1 in his division in diamond on korean servers)
Also games of the rank 1 bronze league player on korean servers (listed as korean name, since I don't know how to read korean), his replays are the ones titled:
RenieHour vs (korean name) delta quadrant
(korean name) vs sjh scrap station
(korean name) vs Evam lost temple

Thanks to Gisado to kindly providing replays from his awesome stream.
Hopefully, I'm looking forward to posting the replays of his stream on a daily basis.

btw if you sort the replays by date, as suggested in the OP, you can see how the streaks went.

ps:
if this could be added into the OP that would be awesome.

edit: grammar and thnx to gtr for clarifying sea is not korean servers (im a huge nub)

It's really cool that they're not only streaming all these good players, but are releasing all of the replays too.
Thanks hwanikani/PsykoMantis for uploading the reps to megaupload and/or giving us the links.

If someone cares to show me how to get the afreeca stream to work, I'd gladly restream on glhf. Afraid I'm stuck without a korean ssn haha.

Because the stream isn't listed for one. Once they work that out, won't be a need to. Note the 35 viewers, heh.

There, I put up the stream with a link to the livestream in the picture, hopefully now it'll get more viewers seeming it's featured.

Edit: Well it doubled, that is a start ;o
Edit2: We got it up to 400

Gisado is taking a break for two days, as he is going to watch GSL and do a broadcast that is not his own during that time.

He should be back doing his stream every day afterwards though

I always browse the available recent replays and take a quick look at them searching for matches that i might find interesting on a quick look. Then from those matches i pick the ones with easely recognizable players for most SC2 fans while ocasionally presenting a couple of new names. So actually casting Zerg matches is kinda random but im glad i've been able to catch some Zerg because they're starting to get rare at high level playing.

Have to appreciate Gisado's effort to bring us some of the finest matches around. heres todays daily:

I've been picking up matches from the Gisado "King of the Hill" for quite a while now as you can see by the ammount of spam made by me on this thread and i have the upmost respect for Gisado since this is a brilliant concept that requires a lot of hours invest to make it happen, specially when its made almost on a daily basis. So his effort should be rewarded.

I got the replay packs here and might consider picking more matches up while Gisado is moving, but for now im thinking about some ZergBong playing SC2? sounds good?

I usually follow Gisados's stream religiously and consider his "King of the Hill" tournament one of the finest because of the work behind getting the popularity it has in Korea and the ammount of pro players that show up almost every day to have a go at it. Respect to Gisado its not easy to organize anything this big on a daily basis.
