See that tag? No more [SC2B], the time for [SC2] has come. Finally it is here.
A new dawn is rising. Starcraft 2 is no longer barely under the horizon, we see it full view. Over mountains, through vast forests, underneath seas it is fully accessible. No longer forced to content ourselves with multiplayer, with partial map pools and incomplete achievement lists. The full game is right in front of us. A game with a box you can touch, a game that has every feature unlocked, begging for interaction.
Years of planning, coordinating, testing, and man hours in the hundreds of thousands all culminating to this one event. Its time to play, to bring the old back to the days of their youth and bring the purest of joys to the young.
Say farewell to beta, welcome official release with open arms. How many hours of sleep have you lost so far? How many will you lose in the next week? The next month?
Join us as we celebrate beta with a video from Liquid's own TheLittleOne, showcasing play from one of the strongest players to spring up in recent months.
To those of us who participated in SC1 launch day, we knew it was great but we had no idea we were making history. Now we do; the feeling is even more exciting, even more exhilerating, to know that we have been a part of something that will touch (or control =p) the lives of millions for a decade or more.
When Blizzard makes a game it's different than any other company. Blizzard is not just releasing another contribution to a passtime; it's creating a lifestyle. It's creating experiences that we will never forget; it's changing our lives; it's introducing us to new friends, new challenges, new goals, new ways of thinking. Starcraft 1 was a huge part of my life and a huge part of who I became. I expect Starcraft 2 will be no different for a whole new generation of gamers. Enjoy it!
I'm picking up the phone right now to call Tech support, game says my battle.net account doesn't have sc2 attached to it, while it definitely does, as when i click manage account, it shows up right there..
Cant say this isnt a big ass let down, and fixable fast. (yes, im a bit angry, I did take the day off for this)
Watched this on the Day9 party stream and heck watching this another time when I get back home. This was so amazingly hilarious, Chill way to deliver with top notch commentary!

I also got really worried, but apparently my retailer ships with some kind of corporation mail thingie which can come all the way until 20. Still pretty nervous about it not coming though.

The TeamLiquid philosophy summed up in one paragraph.
this is what sc2 is about, i dont think ive ever laughed out loud harder while watching sc2 this was perfect, i had like 10 people crowded around my phone watching day9's event while this went on for about 2 hours lol
This is awesome, the commentator talked about TL Attack in the video. I remember there was a poll a while back asking if TL Attack should be brought back but no-one (including me) knew what it was. It sounds like all kinds of awesome, bring it back imo!
I got the game two days before release from amazon. Guess who was hitting the install key avery five minutes yestaerday evening. Also, guess who did not get any sleep this night. ^^
Hahaha! This video was awesome. Chill was the perfect caster for this imo. Was trying so hard not to make a scene at work when TLO spelled his name in auto-turrets! <3 TL.net
It's here! Got mine last night and I have to say, after much reflection, I have lost MANY hours of sleep over Beta already. Who knows what the game will do to me??
Ah that was classy, thanks for making it! I think the best was the planetary fortress followed by the "LOL HOPE NOT STREAMED K" which overflowed with irony.
TLO is awesome, i should play like that lol...but sadly i take everything too seriously to do "stupid shit" like that lol...it would be a nice change ^___^

You wouldn't believe how long it took me to work out how to do a ghost rush properly and I didn't even think about adding a medi-vac. The execution was a thing of beauty. TLO is a genius.
That video's excellent. I'd love to see placement matches from some of my other favorite players.. TLO's oneo f the best though, when it comes to making creative builds. Also random race
zerg proxy hatch is my favorite kill the newb strat.
SC2 still hasn't been delivered to me yet! I don't know what to do! I expected it to be on my doorstep when I woke up but it still isn't here. Every time I hear a car drive by I look outside my window to see if it's a UPS truck. It's so frustrating having the game installed but not being able to log in
Just got my digital copy, the activation was FAST, I really can't get the advantages of having a dvd that can get scratched, lost, box chewed on by the dog, etc...

Yeah but like all blizzard games now I can download the digital version anytime now that I've registered the cd key that came with the hard copy.

They deliver it to your mailbox, I got mine already. Actually, I had pre-ordered it online, but the order didn't go through the first time, so I tried again which succeeded. Then I decided to wait with my friends and get the t-shirt by pre-ordering in-store. After getting the pre-order in-store, I went to cancel my online order, but I was too late and it had already been shipped. I got the one in-store, and when I went to grab the extra shipped one, I found another, maybe because they somehow got the order for the unsuccessful first one. So I have three copies at the moment...
Why playing the single campaign mode has to be on the battle.net? Sc1 has it?
It is ture that blz develop on staff and benefit , why don't it let the epic classic sc aside?
Whatever it is, sc1 is the immortal classic in pcgame field. Starleager is the highest form of the previous blz personnel's wisdom--the pure essence of game and art. And like everstarleager, both starleague of sc1(absolutely not sc2) will star for ever!

I just registered to teamliquid today. I haven't gotten my copy of SC2 yet, but my family is grabbing a new mac desktop on the 9th and I'll be scooping it up right away.
Anyways, since I'm unable to start my own topics I figured this thread was as good as any to post my question in:
Once I get the game, I will be playing quite often and would love to be a part of the online community as much as I can. So I'm just wondering what the "essentials" are for that. So far I've found this site and I've subscribed to day(9)'s daily show, but is there anywhere, anything or anyone else that I should know about or pay close attention to? Sites I should visit, blogs I should watch, players I should follow? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
It's been 2 years to date so this deserved a bump imo. Gives people who haven't seen TLOwnage yet the chance to catch up on all that goodness and those who have a chance to relive those epic moments. Enjoy!

Awesome Pholon. TLOwnage is one of my favorite videos ever.

Hopefully this isn't the start of your "terrible two's"
But that is when we start to assert our independence! SC2 needs to get over its separation anxiety, learn to not compair itself to BW and meet new friends as it's play groups.
I love Starcraft 2. It's too bad though that Blizzard taking their bloody time to release Heart of the Swarm has made me lose interest in the e-sports scene and that nothing will rekindle my interest in the e-sports scene.
I remember writing this and then going out to the only midnight release I've ever been to so I could pick up my copy. I had a really shitty laptop because I was too lazy to buy a new computer and it took over an hour just to install. The good old days.
I played 20 hours straight to commemorate the great occasion 30+ game winstreak too =D, lets hope there will be many many more years of SC2 as a great e-sport with many many more years of growth.
