I just checked his user name on the server and he hasnt loged in since march 19th
*edit didnt see him post above lol You still play WC2? Wow never knew there're still people playing this game actively.. :o I'd imagine playing WC2 is like playing SC1's PvP with less units on a tiny, no high ground map?

I always assumed the only reason they were laddering in the first place is because a lot of people were throwing around stuff about imbalance, and both of them work at blizzard and are good players so they played a little to show people what was possible.
after the game developed a little they vanished because they weren't needed anymore

and also a QA tester for Blizzard (as well as KHB)
edit to add: CGM made a post on TL.net a while back that basically told us that QA testers weren't to participate in the ladder anymore due to legal reasons. I think someone mentioned this earlier though I can't find the original post.

that is drewbie.. not david kim lol

David Kim was killed by Darth Vader, and became one with the force. He now only appears in the visions of noobs telling them to go to the Degobah system.

Players come and go more often than you think sadly

they pretty much only played to get the ball rolling with all the experience they gained from testing inside blizzard

When I asked him if he was David Kim the internal tester he said he wasn't. He was really strong though, and a random user, so I think he was lying. Seems weird to deny being the real David Kim (Dayvie) but still play under that name.
I played him in phase 1 and he denied even knowing who blizzard was. That's when I knew it was him.

I think the devs were mainly keeping their heads down because of all the balance changes that were happening in the beta. They were trying to remain as neutral as possible.

David Kim was removed from the game for balance reasons - true story.

Make a race selection screen where you can choose between orcs and orcs.

This is how rumors and legends start, exactly what is happening here. Hilarious
"I heard, David Kim ....." "Really? Well someone's brother told me ..." "Well I played him yesterday, but he said it wasn't even him!"
How many Daveys in the world could there be? Like 4,MAYBE hahaha =)

We should petition blizzard to allow david to enter tournies.
|
i donno, he used to live with ella and lardy, but now they split and theres no more ottawa lans.
|
Devs aren't allowed to play in tournaments/show matches for obvious reasons.
Cow stated that he'd rather spend his time working + other activities as he wouldn't be able to play SC2 in tournaments anyway.
|
Pretty sure, if he is still competitive with top players, Blizzard will eventually set up a showmatch between David Kim and the winner of Blizzcon, for example. Contrary to what they said, yes.
|
If anyone is still interested. I saw David Kim play in some games tonight at the Fountain Valley Fry's Midnight release. In those games his name was "dayvie" and he was a random player. I think this all but confirms that dayvie in the ladder is definitely him.
