Hello,
Seeing as how blizzard was so KIND to split us into our own region which probably will starve as WoW... I'm still keeping my Amazon preorder for the US Collector's, but i'm not sure, what are most of LA players going to do?
Cheers!
Poll: Region you will play?United States (79) 68% Latin America (17) 15% Europe (17) 15% Buying 2 or more including LA (2) 2% Buying 2 or more not including LA (1) 1% Other(KR/SEA/ETC) (0) 0% 116 total votes Your vote: Region you will play? (Vote): Latin America (Vote): United States (Vote): Europe (Vote): Other(KR/SEA/ETC) (Vote): Buying 2 or more including LA (Vote): Buying 2 or more not including LA
EDIT: Adding more comments and blue post mentioning server split.
I want to add that to play in the LA region you can only play in spanish or portuguese, with probably some awful translations...
---------
Bueno, primero que nada.. ¡bienvenido!
From Luumht, LA Region blue. Same guy from WoW boards.. http://beta-us.battle.net/sc2/es/forum/topic/16521673

I'll be getting the US version.
Dont know. Are you sure we arent together with US?
US, latin america will probably be empty

EDIT: Sorry, forgot about our Brazilian friends, it basically says yes, US and LA will be split, not like in WoW.
dammit... what to do now.
I really appreciate the fact of Blizzard putting down a server here, and I would like to play on it. But on the other side the servers might have few players... shit.
Crossrealm now Blizzard.
Edit: I speak spanish and even if I didnt its pretty easy to figure out what the text was saying :D

Well, it's funny, they say latency is going to be better, they will probably put the servers in mexico, like with wow, where its actually WAY worse for south americans than US. Because our packets go to US the back to mexico, LOL.
So, latency in LA region is probably going to be worse than on the US server.
Resuming, i'd appreciate it if they put the servers somewhere in the middle of the continent, instead of 2 inches below the US.

Just put the servers in São Paulo. If they do, I will buy LA version for sure.
i would too, i'd still probably buy both, but i think all south american and most central america have good latency to brasil...
I got 40-80ms on most game servers. way better than 250-300 to mexico
Solo necesitamos una pequeña cosa crossrealm. Nadamas eso Blizzard. ¿Oh es muy dificil de entender algo en español?
there isn't a separate battle.net site for Latin America is there? Looking at the other pages it seems there are sites for US, EU, Korea, Taiwan, SEAsia, China ... although there are more 'regions' you can choose from when purchasing Latin America and Russia.
Me and everyone I know getting US version =p
i live in canada but i am mexican and my brother is there so i will get him us version no reason to get in LA region so lil players compared to Us
USA but if they allow cross realm i would use the LA server too.
Yes I'm sure they will split us in two different regions, you can see it by downloading the digital version from battle net http://beta-us.battle.net/sc2/es/
However I choose the US version

I think that with the builtin imput lag of .25s we saw in beta, you wouldnt feel any diference playing on a server 40ms or 200ms away from you anyway, unless blizzard have made the worst netcode ever made in the History.
btw I will initially to buy the north american version, and later if blizz really dont add a crossrealm feature, i shall to buy extra copies to play in the european and/or the korean servers.
I was thinking about playing in LA if it was possible to do so with the English client. Since Blizzard decided to force us to choose between that and the translated version, I had to choose US. All my friends are doing the same. It's a shame tough, specially with the announcement of the Brazilian office. I wish they reconsider that decision and just let us choose the language we want to play the game.
I already have the US version pre-ordered.
Getting US definitely, maybe buying one month of game time on the LA server to see how it looks
Yeah, same, or maybe get the collector's here just for the shiny things... Depends on pricing and availability tho.

wow, so many realms, will EU be split too?
US. BTW, there's a bunch of argentinians here, we should make a "lan" party soon after release. PM me, ill organize it.
You mean like, a lan without lan mode starcraft?
That's why i used those " " Just hang out and play some games. over BNet.
US, mostly because I dont want any surprises in LA server
since the only way to play in LA is having a SPANISH or PORTUGUESE FULLY TRANSLATED VERSION i will NEVER buy it.
so ridiculous. in the LA battle.net beta forum they said that you can only download the portuguese or spanish version of the game if you want to play unlimited in LA, or else, buy the 6th month shit that is also only in Spa or Portuguese.
Ridiculous... As soon as i am able to play in LA with a english version i will do it... until then, fuck blizzard and their stupid market researches.
Is like forcing movie theaters to put movies in spanish instead with subtitles... they would broke that´s why every single movie theater have every movie with subtitile and ony a few translated.

Crossrealm now Blizzard. lol what?
WoW Latin American Servers aren't in Mexico, they are in the U.S.
I am downloading the US version for sure. I´ve played online games on US servers my whole life and I really dislike/cant stand spanish translations.

i'll be playing US first. but if blizzard let me play the english version and put servers out of the US, maybe i'll change.
I was hoping LA servers were actually in LA (especially if they put some in Brazil) and not in Dallas, US lol. How do you guys know that anyway?
I will be playing in the US and if there are any region specific events I might consider purchasing another copy just for that.
Well, thats what i thought also, but then someone said they were on mexico on the new b.net forums, so i thought they moved them or something, i dont play wow anymore...
It's the same tho, i get better latency on east coast servers where i played before the LA servers.

US for sure I just cant read the unit names in my language (demolidor (marauder), ambunave (medivac), morcego de fogo (firebat)!!!!!!!)
i have some buddys in france and UK
US all the way. Latin american servers were full of retards anyway. (Think Frag)
Im gonna be playing in NA server with a couple of friends.
Damn, I'm from Venezuela and I have enough trouble breaking the new stupid violent games law once in order to buy one version, but i'd really like to play on LA servers if they ensure good latency.
No doubt, US version, worked fine during beta, no reason to take the risk with Latam server.
Looking foward to that """Lan""" party
I honestly don't know which one! I probably can't stand the translations and stuff and I much rather play the game's campaign in english, as well as I'm used to the hotkeys and stuff for the US version, but if something official starts happening down here involving esports,I dunno, might be a requirement to have the LA version or it'd be easier to do better by having practiced with the actual hotkeys. Dunno just food for thought.
I'm buying the US version, but I might get a LA version too if people decide to hold some tourneys there.
ill buy LA digital and then US for CE
Well, i guess it's pretty clear where we'll be playing. I wonder if some sort of eSports community will pop up and where...
Time to go back to my stasis chamber till Tuesday...
US version,
I wonder... If they are going to allow SEA to play on NA in 2 months, maybe they could allow LA to play on NA...
That makes a LOT of sense for many reasons... Maybe if we tell blizzard? I'm thinking about linking this poll on battle.net when forums come back.
So the more votes we can get the better...
