I don't see any ladder info or stats? Got the link to the ladder stuff?
|
go to the forum and click on someones name, or I think if you login you'll see all your stuff.
|
Mmmm just cancelled my collectors edition boxed copy.
It will be cheaper later anyway Thanks Blizzard, with royal mail I couldn't guarantee I'd get to play this on launch. Digitally you can!
|
Wait, if we can download the full client now, can't some crafty sonovabitch mine all the datas from it, specifically singleplayer? Crackers can just download this and try to crack it before the release?
This is like a game leak, except more official.
|
Well thats pretty damn cool. I'm still going to be going to the closest store to get my copy asap. Hell, if they aren't watching the back door I may slip in back, grab my copy, and leave them $60. If not I can still be back to my house and installing by 12:30am.
Even though the massive numbers of people doing the same will surely cause the patching process to remind us all of the dial-up modem days.

If you could use a retail cd key the digital download would be geat for aussies like me who want to have a us copy of the game. Download the electronic copy and get an American friend to buy a US copy and send you the cd key so you can activate the game and you're away.
Not sure why the download would require you to actually activate via a purchase since you have to have a subscription on your battle.net account to use it .. what happens if you want t install it on your pc and laptop .. do you need 2 keys :s

Maybe it doesn't have the single player data in it. Maybe there will be a patch 1-2 days before the release. Or maybe Blizzard is that confident

Very cool, all the information (achievements/ladders/match history) is all available by viewing someone user details in the new forum. Presumably there will be an online ladder where you can view anyones profile anytime on any ladder.
The installer alone is 7gig, so at the very least it has a lot more content then the current beta client, and I'd presume it would have all the single player content as well.

Surely it'll be missing essential content, and or be encrypted.

Sweet... definitely using the digital download.
The ladder info stuff is exactly the same information that appears in your in-game profile (ladder / reward / achievement). No global ladders or anything.
|
Loving the new site, a lot of stuff packed in to it, yet it's still easy to navigate and use.
|
if you notice on the page there is a little red asterix next to where it says choose activate. Over to the right it says
** I clicked SKIP instead of ACTIVATE – is that bad? That’s OK, just click this link and log in.
If you clik that link it takes you to a page where you can enter your cd key. This is exactly how WoW has worked in the past. You get a prompt when installing to enter the key but if you don't do it yu just go to your account and add the key. I'm pretty confident now that you can install it (after the time lock of course) and use a retail cd key to activate your account. The rub is that if you have access to a boxed copy you will be able to buy that earlier than you can unlock the digital version anyway (10 hours earlier on US West coast)
Thi also fits with the images we say of the installer that said you couldn't install the game yet .. they are time locked

While this is true it bodes very well that like Warcraft 3/WoW there will be a comprehensive online ladder database, seeing as the whole web interface is complete.

I love the thread title by the way, sounds like a sales pitch! :D
|
and this is the first time we have been able to see player data outside the game .. and it's not just your own data you can see.
|
Blahhh Screw there d/l. I pre-ordered with TL.net.....just like all of you should
|
That site looks brilliant! Be great once it it all up and running properly, and updated regulary!!! A step in the right direction!!
|
Well us Aussies are excited about this because it means we won't have to be price gouged by local retailers. Starcraft 2 Normal Edition: RRP Aus $100 ($88USD) So yeah, digital distribution is an awesome option for us.

this is makes me sad cuz there wont be any cross realm play wth. if you read on the info
"Select your region carefully.
You will only be able to play with people in the same region, and not all languages are available to each region. Select the region closest in proximity to help ensure the best game performance."
