Q1 - Already activated - WTF? Q2 - Change the region for the key for activation - How? Q3 - Do these keys expire? Q4 - Online order, no key yet. Q5 - What does a correctly formatted beta key look like on paper? Q6 - My old pre-order isn't generating a key in the store, what should I do next?
Q1) When I enter the key on Battle.net, it says it is already activated, I am pissed man, so pissed. What do I do?
A1) Well, this is bound to happen from time to time, with all these keys being printed out all over, it isn't surprising to me, and shouldn't be to you that some keys simply overlapped. Just simply go to the Gamestop (I wouldn't call them asking for a key, what employee would believe that over the phone, than they would have to go through the pre-order directory, what a mess) and simply let them know what happened. I am sure they will gladly assist you in the problem in getting you a new key. DO NOT fly off the handle and start a cursing storm in the store. You are representing gamers, don't make us look like childish assholes. No one wins in that situation. Most of the people at GS, at least around here, are gamers, they aren't out for blood. They will help if they can, and most of the time they can.
A3) Very unlikely. The street date that is linked earliest to Gamestop is 6/01/2010. Therefore it would be misconduct for them to claim the the beta lasts longer than their earliest street date. (Why buy a game when I can play beta would be the common response from a very average consumer.) The keys currently act as if they are any other key given to the community from Blizzard or any other establishment that had the credentials to hand out SC2 Beta keys. You will be active as long as everyone else in the beta process.
Q4) I ordered Online and I haven't gotten my key yet, what should I do? A4) I would strongly suggest waiting at least 24, ideally 48 hours, before you call Corporate and complain. I am not sure the process of sending out beta keys is known from their online site. If you are really worried, try to log on the website on your previous orders, and ensure that the email you entered to receive shipping information and your beta key is correct.
Q5) My key doesn't look correct on my receipt, how can I tell if it is the right type of key?
A5) SC2 Beta keys on the Gamestop receipt are located below the bar code and above the customer survey. The consist of: 6 digits, followed by a dash, than 4, dash, 6, dash, 4, dash, 6. This comes out to 26 digits, mixed with letters and numbers. Example of a beta key:
1a3g56-7g90-12x4f6-7s90-1y34a6 <-- P.s. - if someone types in that example and it works, I want half credit.
Q6) I had an old pre-order and they can't print out a beta key for me, what should I do?
A6) Politely ask the employee to cancel your old pre-order, and make another pre-order, on the receipt for the new pre-order a beta key should be attached.
- On the receipt it is stated that the code 'expires' may 31st. - According to Gamestop currently, the most up to date release frame (which is also the closest) is the First of June (The day after the receipt mentions expiration of the code.) - These keys are in no way linked to Gamestop, once you use it, you are a part of the beta community. The one time you want to be a pile of mush and not be an independent part of testing, is definitely this time! - People with keys from GS are not experiencing any difference in content than people with keys of other means of acquiring (i.e. - Blizzard giveaways, opt-in to beta, etc.) - Let me restate, just enjoy your key people, nothing is different between the keys from GS, and keys from other means!

***FRIENDLY REMINDER - BETA KEYS ARE 26 DIGITS LONG. SOME PEOPLE ARE BEING HANDED THE SURVEY CODE ON THEIR RECEIPT THAT IS 16 DIGITS LONG. PLEASE CHECK ON THE KEY BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE. 26 DIGITS!***
Gamestops around the nation are handing out keys that are printed on receipts of pre-orders. Partial pre-orders are recieving keys as well. Go pick up your reservation and your key from a Gamestop and join the beta sensation.
Some stores still experiencing issues with the electronic system for printing keys on receipts. I recommend you call them first!
I just checked my email here at Gamestop and they mentioned the SKU (a number designated to each product or reservation) isn't working correctly for SC2 Beta keys, and they will be emailing me once it is resolved.
If this is the case at all Gamestops, I'm not sure. It sounded like a company wide thing though. I'll let you all know what the new email says once I receive it.
The keys seem to be being printed on receipts at this point. Some stores are experiencing technical difficulty with the electronic stamping process. I am now being told around 4EDT it will be resolved in my local area. If you are lucky enough to be in an area that is not experiencing this malfunction, enjoy your key!
**UPDATED INFO AS OF 4/21/2010 12:42 EDT**<-- Old+ Show Spoiler +
The store manager as of today said the system is switching from manual keys on paper to an electronic system. I was told to call back around 4 o'clock to come back in from this specific store. Others are saying stores have keys right now. Partial in-store pre-orders are being given keys.
Friend is a manager at a local G.S., said his key received keys in their last batch of delivery for Pre-orders and other stores in the area will be getting keys on and off for the next few weeks according to his boss on top of him. (I think they do county managing here in Jersey, not 100%)
Exactly what I know:
- Not every Gamestop will have keys - There is no "requirement" on your pre-order to grab a key from the pile (I.E. - you had to pre-order before xxxx date to get a beta key) - First come first serve - Limited Supply
I suggest if you are on the East Coast and are dying for a key, get up at the ass-crack of dawn and start calling or looking (don't really get up that early, the stores aren't open until at least 8, and 9 in my area in Central Jersey.)
Enjoy and Good luck!

NP man let me know how it goes, I assume if we are getting keys here (My friend doesn't even work at a high selling store compared to the others in his district,) this will be wildfire before too long.
I called my local store in central Indiana about 2 hours ago and they said they might be getting them in their shipment tomorrow afternoon as well. I don't know why I'm posting this because I'm the only guy that has pre-ordered it at that store......sad I know.
If you do call and they confirm that they are NOT getting keys, can you please post so here where about you live. I will compile a list at the top of this thread to help the other TL'ers out in their endeavors.
Starting the list in about 20 minutes from now for some hard data.

Bozeman, MT - no keys (unless the store clerks are clueless which is always possible!)
To confirm, the clerk in Portland, OR said no they have no beta keys. He had no idea about the rumor I asked him about that said select GameStop stores had Starcraft II beta keys.
I can confirm that the Gamestop in Albermarle, North Carolina doesn't have any keys. I called in and the guy was clueless about what I was talking about. He even double checked with his boss and they hadn't heard anything.
Okay guys im going to stop hawking this thread for tonight, hopefully tomorrow we will get some posts and replies with some better results than so far. (1 area has for sure, 1 does supposedly, and a bunch of no/maybe/"Are you insane no we do not have keys.)
I think all of those people are either too lazy to check or are clueless. When I spoke with the guy at my local store he had no idea what StarCraft was but he said GameStops/EB Games are getting keys for people that pre-order the game. So I wouldn't believe most of those people honestly. My store is getting their delivery around noon so that's when I would call if I were you guys.

Oh what the hell, everyone can just pre-order online. It's like a better opt-in.
Yeah, the only thing preventing me from pre-ordering online is that I don't want to wait 3 days for the game and don't want to pay the $15 shipping, especially since you cannot cancel your pre-order after getting the beta key. I'll just leave work for about 15min at 10am tomorrow, which is where they open near me, and get the key.
Once you receive your Beta Code your order cannot be canceled.
Yeah but once you pre-order and get that code you can't cancel. So you are locked into your online purchase.
I may try a local store tomorrow so I can just put down $5 and get my beta key. If that fails, then I will get it online likely. Way to much withdrawal to hold out much longer.
On April 21 2010 13:25 Sentenal wrote: "while supplies last", so I bet they will run out really fast. I'm gonna buy this game anyway, so why not pre-order now?
I'm sure there will be enough since GameStop can just request more keys from Blizzard can't they? Also, just imagine all the angry people complaining how they didn't get a key even when they pre order unless there's an IOU or something.
What I'm wondering is, if EVERY Gamestop store will have some tomorrow or just a limited selection because I'm in a dilemma. If I go to Gamestop tomorrow when they open, will they have it? If they do, I'm good. If they do not, then would I make it in time to preorder online at 10am cst and have them not run out? That's the situation I'm in
I doubt they will run out by tomorrow, but if you don't mind waiting for it to ship at release: the beta key is currently "free".
You will not actually be charged until the game ships on release. So you "preorder" for full price but you aren't charged until the game is out and is shipping to your house. That is what sealed the deal for me.

From what my understanding is is that most stores should be receiving them tomorrow if they don't have them already. I'd just call and see when they get their shipments in and go from there.

Well, they obviously put "while supplies last" there for a reason. I highly doubt there will be infinite Beta Keys to be given out.
My theory is that Blizzard has already sent numerous keys to GameStop stores as we speak and each code will be generated on your receipt if you pre order the game in store. I'm sure Blizzard predicted that there will be a lot of pre orders, so they sent enough. Besides, if they do somehow run out, they can easily send more keys to GameStop electronically.
looks like i should have gone to the store by me instead of buying it on amazon when they were having that sale a few months back, now hoping for an e-mail from amazon telling me i have a key... but i can dream
Well I ordered online, but selected In-Store Pickup when I meant to do online and have it emailed to me. Here's hoping the store actually has some keys when I head over there tomorrow.
how do u reserve a game online from gamestop? its asking me to choose a shipping address if im preordering, what do i do to choose so that i pick it up myself from a store?

Add it to your cart and fill out all the info it asks. It will get to a point where it asks you how you want it shipped, to your home or to a store.

1. Add to cart 2. Enter in billing address 3. Select "Add Pick-up Store" to whatever is closes 4. Complete the rest of the steps
On April 21 2010 14:00 s2pid_loser wrote: FUCK! i didnt see "add pick up store" god damn.... u think i can go alter the order of shipping method later?
It'll just be shipped to you as an online purchase. The beta code should be emailed to you instead.
yea but also another dilemna... cause im having it shipped right now to my home, but if the release date is actually during when i'm at school, id rather it be shipped to my apartment or to a gamestop so i can pick it up myself
EDIT: ok i'm an idiot, i can change that stuff by jus going to my order history.. i even emailed them about it moments ago...
So basically.. If Blizz is giving keys to Gamestop its going to end up like an open beta type deal. Which means the game will be finished soonish, hopefully :O
^ I don't see why they would force a pre-order on you. Unless the website says you have some absurd binding contract to the purchase... but on an item under 100 dollars (and even the CE...) I don't see how you can get tied to this.
Please everyone post where you were at and your results of the beta key hunt IRL.
On April 21 2010 14:36 Chaoz wrote: If I preorder online and don't get the code when I go to the store, I can cancel the preorder right?
Well, on the site, it states: "Once you receive your Beta Code your order cannot be canceled."
So I would think that, if you don't get the beta key, then you're not bound into any agreement to cancel. Now, if it just stated, "Preorders cannot be canceled", then I would state you wouldn't be able to cancel it, however, it states exactly there that you cannot cancel, ONLY once you receive the key.
Take it for what it's worth, I'm heading to bed. See you all in Beta tomorrow! No more scavenger hunts and riddles! (I'll still be on these forums, they are helpful)
Was hesitant at first, but then I figured I'm going to buy this when it comes out anyway, so I pulled the trigger and preordered online. We'll see tomorrow I guess. I hope Blizzard is getting something out of this,.
Do you know if these will still apply to my preorder made on 12/02/08? I made it online, and I'm really hoping I won't be excluded just because I preordered before this was announced.

The keys are not tied directly to the client or the choice of download, so yes.
And like you said.. obviously not at the same time.
The client is just used to access the gateway to battle.net. The means they supply you to access their content would be the client, tied to the cd-key, tied to your bnet account. If there are two different ways to access it (mac and pc client,) it shouldn't be an issue going back and forth.

Also how did everyones follow-up with gamestop go? I pre-ordered for in-store pikcup and no beta key yet but I ordered at 1AM last night and its 8:20AM now.
Does anyone know if in-store pickup still qualifies?
If someone's asking around in the hudson valley can you check Brewster Heights, Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, Jefferson Valley, White Plains, Nyack, and Yonkers, NY, as well as Danbury CT?
I ordered my copy from the Brewster Heights Gamestop so idk if I'm supposed to get a beta key...
edit: So we have to call the gamestop that we ordered from and physically pick up the receipt? Or should we just get delivery to a home address to get an e-mail notification?
I think it's fair that the fans preordering it get a chance to play the game so they won't get raped by all the ppl that have been playing the beta for months - so I think it's nice!
Hopefully other Sellers will offer this sort of service as well... I'm pretty sure they will...

Yeah you bring up an interesting point... i just want everyone to be aware that this is common for most retail stores for the company to release something and the employee not be 100% aware of whats going on.. even the manager.. When i woke up this morning i went online to get a few GS numbers and locations in my area and on the first call i talked to the manager and she said she had no idea what i was talking about and stated that no gamestops in the area will be receiving the keys.. I was so bummed out but i wanted to be 100% sure so i called another one and he stated that they do have them and that i just need to preorder the game so just wanted to let everyone know that even if a store says that they dont have them they are just not aware yet of whats going on
I went in to the Gamestop here and (small town in CO keep in mind) and they had keys. I asked if I could still get one since I pre-ordered a while ago and the Manager there jsut cancelled my old preorder and made a new one, and gave me a key.
Key worked just fine and I was able to get my friend on finally.
Yeah great point, make sure you ask about it. If they have no idea, just say it was posted on their website saying with a pre-order you should be getting a key.
At that point, assuming you didn't berate the poor fellow or lady behind the telephone, they will politely check and confirm that you are correct.
Just don't be a tool about it guys, makes gamers look bad. I worked at GS for a while, getting an angry call because a customer is hawking a story/situation and I was ignorant to it is pretty irritating.
Gamers are irrational and emotional people, and some of them fly off the handle over this stuff.
I've been wanting to preorder for a while for the CE, but since I don't know my exact mailing address come shipping day, I don't want to do so yet. I already have a key luckily, but it would be niec to make sure I have my hands on the CE for sure.
I'm getting mine at the GameStop in Palatine, IL. Just called them and said it was working. Oddly the two gamestops closer to my house don't have the promotion... I AM SO EXCITED!
The Gamestop in Concord CA is canceling your first preorder then doing it over because the SKU isn't working. I can confirm that they have them though.

piss everyone off with the facebook contest and then work with gamestop to provide beta keys with preorders, which enticed everyone enough (especially the ppl frustrated with the facebook contest to go out and preorder to get their beta key asap (especially since it says while supplies last to make it more vital for ppl to preorder asap))

Unfortunately in some stores to get a working printout of an active beta key, they must cancel your pre-order and redo it on the computer.
Bad for people that worked often when SC2 was announced. Amazing for people that are working today.
I would say people waiting on emails from the online pre-orders, just have a little patience before you enter siege mode on Gamestop and start spamming corporate. Chances are it is alphabetically, or by area code, or by email host that they are being sent out.

You are seriously paying $60 to smurf? Just to stomp on noobs, or to goof around, or what? If to do that, why not just play custom games where you'll be able to stomp on people all you want?

Just to be able to play a game in peace lol. My b.net is NON STOP. My average login involves 3 obs requests, and a full bar of messages.
It's not true smurfing as much as it is hiding lol! Plus EU players can use it to play in the ITL
if the release date isnt announced this week, it'll probably be announced within a week or 2 after the upcoming patch
blizzards probably waiting for the galaxy editor and 3v3 and 4v4 maps to be tested for ne big bugs/flaws and if there arent ne, then theyre probably read to release

It's not confirmed just speculation
Its not speculation its the date that blizzard gives to all the retailers but its not a official. Its more along the line of get ready for a shipment it might be comeing soon /shrug. But ya its not the official its just what they tell the retailers. Chance is it won't be june more like july for the official.

Time to call up the store and ask about what's up.
Make sure you're typing the key in the right place on b.net, at the Add a Game, not Item/Code redemption. I made that mistake about ten times and nearly had a hernia, ^.^

Wow, thank you, I was doing the same thing you were, Then I saw this post and realized I was an idiot. lol
I preordered online and already got my order confirmation email, but there's no key anywhere. Is there a second email that should be coming sometime with the key in it?

I just got my key, went to gamestop and the goth teenage said I would be emailed the key, I said it should be on the receipt and he said "Oh you're right". Anyway, cya guys online i'll be in bronze, likely, because I am horrible.
I had already pre-ordered so they gave me a key over the phone and to see if it works. I just put it in on my b.net account and it worked :D. Ezpz. Downloading now!
On April 22 2010 07:16 Repok wrote: Is there an endless supply? Is there a time limit?
It's tough to say if Blizzard gave Gamestop the algorithm to make unlimited (nearly) keys and give out to pre-orders. I am sure the website says 'while supplied last' naturally.
On April 22 2010 07:16 Repok wrote: Is there an endless supply? Is there a time limit?
The keys expires on may 31st
Where are you getting this info? I'm about to go spend my own money on this, so I need to know lol
The info is on my receipt:
Code expires 5/31/10
I believe that's a redemption expiration date, as in you need to redeem your key before that time. Wouldn't make sense for GS beta people to have a specific end date and everyone doesn't
Would anyone be really surprised if beta ended around the end of may when they are talking about a June release at gamestop?
The gamestop date right now is June 1st. Of course on the receipt they are going to have to post that the expiration date is the day before. It's just a bean-counting mechanic so people don't look at it and say 'I don't need to buy the game, the beta will still be on.'
The only thing we know:
- On the receipt it is stated that the code 'expires' may 31st. - According to Gamestop currently, the most up to date release frame (which is also the closest) is the First of June - These keys are in no way linked to Gamestop, once you use it, you are a part of the beta community. The one time you want to be a pile of mush and not be an independent part of testing, is definitely this time! - People with keys from GS are not experiencing any difference in content than people with keys of other means of acquiring (i.e. - Blizzard giveaways, opt-in to beta, etc.)
On April 22 2010 07:31 RyanS wrote: If I have someone from Europe register my preorder key will I be able to play on European server with that account?
You will most likely choose what region you'll use the key for when you add it on your battle.net account, like any other game.
If someone could clarify how to change your region to have multiple keys in different regions (I.E. - Player X has a US and EU account, how did he do that?) That would be much appreciated!
I preordered online last night and ordered it for in-store shipping.
I haven't gotten a key yet. Do I just have to wait does in-store order void out my chances for a beta key?
I actually already have a key, but I would like a spare one I could give to someone else. The key is just a bonus to the preorder, but I would still would like to know if I'm still elligible
Anyone know if Eb in Australia is doing this? I just called my local one and they had no idea about it, but it sounds like that was the case in the US too at first
Got mine though not printed, kinda felt bad for the girl having to write out a 30 character key in sharpie to everybody that gets one. Not like SC2 is a hyped up game ala Halo/CoD but still and inconvenience.
On April 22 2010 08:36 ItsBigfoot wrote: got mine, it's invalid but they told me to wait a bit on it, should I tell them "fuck you give me a new one" or will it work if I wait?
Same, I'll wait until the morning and if it isnt working by 10AM I'll march back in there.
Dont know if the OP is keeping a tally on stores but the GameStops in Concord, New Hampshire all have keys.
Fuck you Gamestop. I pre-ordered today with my friends... all of my friends were able to use their code except for me. When I type it in it tells me:
The authentication key you entered has already been claimed.
Each authentication key can only be redeemed once. Please refer to your games section of the home page to review the keys attached to this Battle.net account. If you're sure you have not previously claimed this key, please double-check the spelling and enter it now.
For more information on authentication keys, please visit our Support Site.
WHY ME?? Does anyone know why its like this? Because my friends were able to redeem their keys but apparently mines has been used.
Be sure to enter the code by clicking "Add or Upgrade Game"
DO NOT USE "Item Code Redemption"
I tried "Item Code Redemption" first and it did not work. I freaked out for a second, went back and read my email, and proceeded to do it correctly and claim my key. Then again many of you likely knew this as my brain works poorly in situations like these.
the key comes on the receipt from the store, and the funny thing is it doesn't even say its a key. It just say that it's "your unique code" or something like that.
i entered the key to both places and im still getting the same message i told gamestop but they just directed me to go to the help section in the gamestop website which gives me no information at all. fmllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Do you think this will mean the end to beta invites from Blizzard? You could considered it to be 'unfair' on those that have pre-ordered from Gamestop, if Blizzard continue to roll out free beta keys.

You can cancel your current pre-order and make another one and the key will be on the new receipt.
If there is anybody who wants a beta key tomorrow I will go pick up another preorder and snag the key for you. Do you *have* to buy the game? Does gamestop force you to?

Starting the list in about 20 minutes from now for some hard data.
Bozeman, MT - no keys (unless the store clerks are clueless which is always possible!)
Go ahead and purchase it and then call 800-883-8895 and ask for your beta key. And they should send it out within 24hrs.
Does anyone know how long it takes for the b.net to know you're registered for beta? I activated my account but it still tells that I need to register.
On April 22 2010 10:07 Shizuru~ wrote: something tells me that open beta is imminent...
Tough to call, with this type of access to closed beta, I wouldn't be surprised if open beta wasn't more than a 5-7 day stress test ending the night before sc2 is released, to be honest.
Why? You ask.
1) So many people are in closed beta that want to be, keys are so accessible now it's absurd. (In the NA region that is.) 2) This closed beta is practically open already. 3) A shorter open beta would allow the masses that are simply considering buying the game to download the game and test it out for a few games just before release drops. 4) Open Beta Stress test comes with no strings attached, not Blizzards problem if the Open Beta isn't stable, and it allows them to quickly test the servers to see if they are prepared for opening night in a short period of time, and can add servers very quickly if there are issues involved.
Just pre-ordered and got a key on the receipt, asked if they knew the release date and was told June 2nd, don't know how accurate that is... 5 bucks for a reserved copy AND beta, good deal. Btw this was from a gamestop in Northern VA.
Don't fret friend, it's probably right around the corner.
Just live your life as you did before this beta possibility, and you will be so much happier when you take that random email check, and it is safely snuggled into your inbox.
Just got my beta key after biking 8 miles round trip to the Waltham gamestop (college = no car). Can somebody tell me where I can download the beta so I can activate my key?
Edit: Nevermind figured it out now. Can't wait to play woooo!
On April 22 2010 10:27 Athos wrote: Just got my beta key after biking 8 miles round trip to the Waltham gamestop (college = no car). Can somebody tell me where I can download the beta so I can activate my key?
you enter the key first in order to be able to download the client. go into your bnet account and click 'add/manage game' and enter the code, then you will be offered the download and it will be listed as another game on your account
Is it confirmed that for sure there will be only the regular and/or Collector's edition available for SC2 when it comes out? If so there's no harm in pre-ordering, that way we're guaranteed the game the second it releases! Plus, we'll then have a spare beta key (if you already have one) to lend to a friend.
Do you think it's gonna get cheaper when the release date comes by :/
So I posted this in the other thread, but as there's two, and people won't necessarily be looking at both (merge pls?) I'd like to post it here as well.
...
I ordered online, and selected to have it shipped to my "local" gamestop back at home, because a month from now I'll be back home, and that would be the easiest way for me to pick it up. Now I see that I have to go in-store to get my key if I'm selecting this option? I'm currently at University about 200 miles away from home.
So how can I cancel this order and/or get the key sent to my email? I'll probably call the store at home tomorrow morning, and see what they can do, but does anyone have any other advice?
Why would you want to cancel the pre order? A lot of people who pre order the game are most likely going to buy the game once it comes out anyways. Unless they don't really like the game, or can adjust.
Not sure if this is in the thread yet, but if you use the promo code 25OFF, you can get 25% off $100 purchase. Find like a $1 filler and you can upgrade to collector's edition for only $75. Worth it IMO as you might even be able to sell your collector's edition WoW pet for a few bucks.
Got my key from gamestop just now. Already preordered the game from Amazon, but I figure I just use the $5 bucks I'd spend on lunch to get the key from gamestop.
just placed a second order to gamestop, this one with delivery so I can get my key in my email. I'll call in the morning to cancel the first order. <3.
Pre-ordered mine on 12/2/08, just went in store to claim my order. Everything went fine, the employees ended up having to change my order since back then the pre-order was only $49.99 for the standard edition.
Finally got a key today because of this. Was going to buy the game anyway, but gamestop gets my money with a great promotion. Now if the servers were actually up...
Why isn't there a Mac client yet? Anyone got a good (cheap) method of getting boot camp and all rolling? Feel free to point me in the right direction. Also, is anyone using bootcamp to use Beta and if so, how is it working? May just have to pre-order a PC version because my patience is wearing. Thanks for the help!
Bare with me if there's any mistakes on this post, I'm on my phone walking to uni, but I thought i'd share something with my fellow Europeans.
I ordered the collectors edition from gamestop last nite cos it still worked out cheaper than buying it here and obviously I wanted a key. Anyways as fate had it, I got a key 2mins after ordering via a different source. However, it appears game stop have a policy on checking credit cards from international addresses fr orders over $100. therefore they emailed me asking for a bank statement or if I'd rather cancel. I chose to cancel. BUT they still sent me a key this morning.
Therefore, any DESPERATE euopean can go to gamestop, order the COLLECTORS editon, cancel it when they do a credit check and still get a key for free.

What is that other, better source you are talking about? This has got me very intrigues. :>
hey, just so everyone is aware i just was e-mailed my beta key from amazon i had pre ordered back in like january so anyone who ordered it through them should check there e-mails in the coming days.
Just got my key from the gamestop email for the collector edition! Now I'm stuck at working thinking about my idle beta key begging me to play. Guess it's time to browse the strategy forum for 8 hours.
I preordered online yesterday around 9:30 AM Eastern time. The Beta Key email came like Santa Claus while I was sleeping. Now, like others, I'm stuck at work gnawing at my desk waiting to get home to give this a spin.
It will be so great to have some first hand experience to contribute to some of the discourse on this site. So so so so so so excited.
amazon.com is also giving beta keys for everyone who preorders. I know this might not be the right place to say this, and maybe someone already has, but im to lazy to make a new thread.
Just tossing this out there, but to the people who were in my situation (selected in=store pickup and can't go in to the store to get your key just yet) I just called my local Gamestop (the one I sent my pre-order to) and apparently there's some paper you need to sign when you cancel the order - so the order can't be canceled unless you go in to the store. Of course, if that were possible I wouldn't be needing to cancel in the first place.
Here's to hoping the game doesn't come out until at least when I get home from college.
Wow, did not know that Amazon retaliated back with beta keys for pre orders. Nice. Gonna pre order it next week since I got a $10 game credit from pre ordering SSF4.
I called two places in St. Louis, Missouri. They both have keys: Gravois Bluffs and Chesterfield Mall both have Beta Keys. I'm about to get mine very soon!
Can a european still get a beta key from ordering off gamestop.com, I might have missed it but I dont see any mention of the beta key offer on the website??
I'm on my phone atm so I don't know if this has been answered yet or not. But you can make ur key go to a different region by regestering a b.net accouint for that reason. Wiki a zip code. For example my eu acct is registered to the address: 123 anyplace, manchester, englad, M1.
