This is hilarious. I was so confused why people kept advertising in a thread where OP lays down what qualifies as abuse of TL forums.

But think about it like this. You have something to advertise, link, to or promote, and you see a thread called "Links/Advertising/Self Promoters." Ding Ding Ding! Why bother reading the OP? Copy Paste Post ???? PROFIT!!!

Just wanted to let you guys know, that the... 3rd(?) New England tournament is being held this Saturday at noon EST and is listed in the upcoming events section. In all honesty After the OP I saw so many posts that were adverts for legit people and weren't nuke, that I thought the thread had evolved into a central "post if your not a total noob advertising" thread. Wouldn't it be easier to close the thread so nobody else adds onto this? Or is it a nice little "laugh at this guy" thread now?

I read this thread thinking it would contain links to content people are advertising, so yea i was misled here as well...the title suggests this is the only place advertising is allowed, but obviously the OP explains this is not acceptable (except in certain circumstances) kinda confusing

Hello guys- My friend Bake and I are looking for (free) work as casters. We don't have a lot of experience casting but have been quite successful in ladder and are extremely avid students of the game. We listen to all of the well-known high level podcasts and watch the highest level streams and so are comfortable in our knowledge of this new game we are all still exploring. Question...I'm new to the community (getting sick and tired of the B.net forum crowd), and I intend to stick around and contribute as much as a bronze-level player can, but I have a livestream channel called "Saga of a bronze-level grownup gamer" that's intended to be an entertaining look at a bad/improving SC2 zerg player...is it bannable to occasionally pop in and let the community know when I'm streaming?

Best way to start getting TL viewers for a stream is to go through

This adds your stream to the list you see on the right hand side of your screen under the calendar. Safely gets your name out there without risking warnings/bans
