1.) Play as protoss 2.) Cannon rush 3.) After the rush, must expand into another main. If a 2 player map, just not your natural. 4.) Whatever you want after that. Obviously, using the cannon rush as a distraction to build a proxy nexus hidden inside his base for a successful mothership rush will all but guarantee being featured. | ||

In PvP if you are doing the sort of cannon rush where you hide a pylon and work towards their nexus with pylons/cannons then it's perfectly possible for the opponent to scout and get their own cannons up to defend their nexus stopping the rush. The cannon rusher is then slightly behind (depending on how much you actually cut workers/whether they did/how quickly you decided to give up). The cannon rusher then has to defend their opponents likely 4 gate follow up which is definitely possible. At least that's my experience, have only done it in that matchup, but a terran could easily get a bunker to defend or lift off to another base, and then it comes down to whether you want to try and force the issue and cut your losses. This is from plat-diamond experience, it's probably different in higher leagues, but then most of the funday monday stuff would fail hard in masters... | ||
