I'm a platinum level Zerg player. I am typically able to end most of my games off of two bases, particularily in the smaller maps like Xel'Naga caverns. I'm definetely more of a macro oriented player (IdrA being probably my favourite player) and I do enjoy longer games, but I often have a very hard time getting a third base up, for various reasons. A major one is I don't need a third because I'm 95% sure I can win outright in a few minutes. Take, for example, my most recent game where I was able to harass and kill off over a dozen drones, some 5 queens, 6 overlords and prevent him from mining at his main until he massed enough infestors and queens to scare off my mutalisks, which was a good minute. Meanwhile, I'm teching to ultralisks, getting 2-2 upgrades, chitinous plating, adrenal glands, 9 ultralisks and over 150 zerglings. I only get my third and fourth (simultaneously) because I know he can't do a damn thing about them and I have the spare money. They were pointless, as I knew, because they popped just as he gg'ed. Could you do a daily, maybe a Newbie Tuesday, about expanding to your third base, talking about good times to do it, things to look out for, why you wouldn't want to, etc., perhaps but not necessarily focused on a zerg point of view? I'm sure many feel the same way that I do in that I'm not always comfortable with taking a third. You talk a lot about the third base, like when you say your game plan should include a pretty straightforward way of securing your third. Thanks, | ||

If you spend gas on mutas and getting ultra on 2 base, you should have a huge mineral count... Why not dumb that into a 3rd... and 4th and a 5th? Why not? It will only help you. | ||

Anyone know what is the song he played in between matches with chineles and high tone chill thiingy. i cant find any reference to it. It starts slowly with those wooden instruments, and develops later into bass. | ||
