I was thinking he might just be putting it off until he's done casting all of these tournaments. Must be a hectic schedule. Yeah, he said it would probably end up being something like 220 or 230. He said he'd rather do it right than to just throw something out there.

Posts 11 ya that was weird lol You watch day 9 and try to be a good protoss so your not going to rush the big tasty colossus but instead you first go observer, and then next week you get bashed lol well guess there alot of nuances and both situations are probably different but to me as a rather new player it did make a weird impression love the show and his casting btw I guess I kind of agree with one of the replies about how you should only get the observer if it'll see something that a 50 mineral probe won't. I'm a bit confused about how to know whether the probe or the observer is more appropriate, but maybe it comes down to the stated fact that almost anything would roll you in that position. Knowing what particular thing is going to roll you won't matter too much, since you're just going to get rolled in that position.

If in fact you are getting fast robo and it is too early to go colossus, you don't need an observer and don't plan to get immortals, what you should be thinking is that you built the robo too early. On the game we watched Tuesday featuring the guy on Blistering Sands losing to colossi because he tried to go colossi in response, you can watch his robotics facility sit unused for several minutes when in fact he could have A) built some immortals and pushed before the enemy's thermal lances finished or B) gotten gateways instead for a strong army before going for colossus.

So every bit of advantage (earlier Immortal, earlier 2nd Immortal, 1 more sentry) you can get you should take. Especially since the observer scouted the same thing a normal probe could scout aswell (no expansion, alsmost no sentries). Sure - in the later stages of the game get more observers. Or if you scout for somethign specific (JP stated scouting for hydraden or spire which would determine his own techpath). Is this for PvP? Because in PvT, after 1gateway->FE, generally people get the quick observer in case of banshees. EDIT: Reread your post, feel like a fool.

Nothing interesting about muta-ling and roach-hydra, or bioball and mech, and so on :/ It just doesnt seem like a very fun restriction, or one that would throw players out of their comfort zone much, or even something that would lead to epic games and tons of fun. I tried it with my team mate, and seriously, its more boring than the usual games we do I vote for more interesting restriction, that lead to stuff that wouldnt normally happen. The monobattles were cool, the no queens, and the terran one was awesome too. Dunno, maybe something like this in 2v2, one player cant make any units until he made an expansion, and the other player on the team cant make any workers until he made a combat unit, that might lead to some interesting, or at least unusual games

(cant build any units that your team mate built) Nothing interesting about muta-ling and roach-hydra, or bioball and mech, and so on :/ How about: One of you isnt allowed to build any combat units, only static defenses until the resource trading is allowed. Then he has to give everything he earns to his partner. And maybe at the end he gets a fununit (Mothership, Broodlords, BCs, Nukes...). Shared unit control should be enabled It would still follow Day9's restrictions but seems a bit more fun with the resource trading and shared unit control going on. Would remind me of the old BW Coop Multiplayer games (dont remember the exact name).
