The staff have noticed that the HotS forum has become increasingly cluttered and difficult to read. As of this post we will be enforcing the following rules and locking per-existing threads which violate these rules.
(1.) Suggestion threads and 'these are my thoughts on the game' threads will be closed unless:
- They are created by a notable member of the community.
- They are of exceptional quality.
Notable member of the community include progamers, casters, staff and well known forum posters. Exceptional quality is entirely up to the discretion of banlings to decide. Don't try to argue that a thread you spent 5 minutes creating is 'exceptional' - it isn't going to happen. If you wish to post suggestions please do so over on the Battle.net forum. For the time being, we will permit these suggestions in patch threads or in threads where the suggestions are relevant (e.g. David Kim wants to do X announcement threads.)
(2.) Threads about HotS strategy will be held to the same standards as those in the Strategy forum. That means:
- Help threads need to be tagged with [H] and contain replays and some analysis from you.
- Discussion threads need to be tagged with [D] and should have a clear discussion point.
Consult the Strategy forum rules for further elaboration on what we expect from strategy threads.
(3.) Normal forum posting standards are expected.
That means follow the Ten Commandments and we'll all get along fine.

Thank god, thanks so much for this mod's, I am becoming so tired of reading how everyone thinks THEY would like the game to change. This was much needed and totally understandable, thanks for all of your hard work TL mods and banlings.

I always thought TL requires some elitism to get order flowing back into the forums, or go the way of reddit and allow the community to 'upvote a thread'
|
Thank you; this forum had really gone to hell. Hopefully this forum can have some genuine discussion again ^_^
|
Oh thank God for that.
And by God I mean the TL moderators.
|
Praise the lord for this, thank you God!
|
thank god. so many random people were coming out of the wood works to post their awful ideas in the hots forum and it was getting ridiculous.
|
I wanted another purge like back in the days 2 years ago, but this is excellent as well. There were getting to be way too many "this is my thoughts on HOTS" posts.
|
Closed threads was starting to get a bit clogged up . Seriously though this is an awesome change and will definitely make the forum much more usable.

thank the lord! i mean thank teamliquid! err
kk i guess they're the same thing

Thank all that is holy/TL staff for this.

Majestic. TL, saving the community from the community.
|
Thank goodness for this. I was getting weary of reading even my own pathetic ideas. It was about time. This is perhaps the only website where I can commend the regulators.

I say we change to an up/down vote system that way the community picks the value of a topic not tl staff or some race blind qqing poor performing '' well respected'' pro

You'd be surprised. Most of the time, if the post isn't well structured, even a "pro" thread will be closed, and some times a ban is warranted to them as well. The forum rules apply to them as much as you, except they have much more credibility when they say they experienced something.
Also this is TL. Your achievements and your actions are what determine your freedom here. Unlike other websites, being a part of TL is a privilege, NOT a right. Everyone has access to that privilege by default, but only if you prove worthy may you keep it.
In other words, accept this or GTFO. It's rules like these that kept TL as the top-quality in terms of forums.
