My boys from Edmonton are on a incredible streak (17-3-0) after a rough start (5-12-1) McJesus is almost his old self and does things like this beauty:
Not only is it incredible intelligent, waiting for Nuge to get out the zone but then exploding on his feet doing McDavid things

havent watch a single minute or read anything about hockey this season (and last season as well i guess?).
Regarding the important topics, is tampa good this year? Is mcdavid still wasting his career in EDM? or do the oilers have a proper contender team this year?

Tampa is very good with Kucherov likely winning the regular season MVP. Title favorites are Colorado though. McD is still with the Oilers but they might just have found a goalie that can win games. We'll see

Thanks for the update!
Glad to know kuch is still bossing around!
Colorado had a good foundation a while back, not surprising they are up there.
Mcdavid will end his career as the (or one of the) best players never to have won a cup
Listen, I'm as big an Oilers doomer as anyone. I've spent most of my adult life watching them be one of the worst run organizations in professional sports.
That said, I have to push back on the 'wasting his career' stuff re: McDavid. The Stanley Cup Playoffs and winning a cup require so much to go right and so much that is out of your hands. Like, you look at the last two Oilers teams to make the SCF, those teams were good enough to win in a lot of other years. They just happened to meet insanely stacked Florida teams. A lot of worse teams have won cups.
If the Oilers were missing the playoffs, or ducking out early every year, that'd be one thing. But given how impossible it is to make an SCF, let alone two in a row, it's not like he hasn't had the opportunity. He has had as much say as anyone in how that roster is constructed and how that team is coached.
Of course, once the Oilers regress, as they surely are already, he is welcome to step into another lineup where maybe he doesn't have to do so much heavy lifting to be as competitive. Maybe he's on Vegas but maybe by then San Jose is an absolute wagon and the the McKnights can never get past the conference finals? Who knows. The playoffs are nuts. You need a good team, but also a hell of a lot of good fortune.
It's not doom yet. Though that game yesterday was pitiful. Also there is a novum going on: After two playoff games, McD has not a single point to his name.
Oilers looked meh all year. Like nothing that would suggest they could beat a Dallas, a Minni, and definitely not a Colorado. I held out hope that they were taking the "we know we are good so we will do the minimum to make the playoffs" but turns out that's just who they were.
Currently cheering for Montreal (love the habs), but also like Buffalo and Annaheim as easy teams to cheer for should Montreal lose.

I think this year's team was noticeably worse than past ones, I agree the SCF teams were actually pretty solid. McJesus, Drai, and The Nuge down the center is a hell of a base. Trading for Jarry should have been instant firing though haha.
But also I really don't see how McJesus could land somewhere else and end up in a better situation (naturally this means most dumb Rangers fans think he'll end up here for spare parts, turn bald, and elbow his way to a cup here)
The cost to acquire him would be insane, his cap hit will be as well. He'd pretty much end up on a more depleted, less competitive team if he moved.
Sounds like Oilers are chasing the ghost of Jordan Binnington. Can they take a Nurse plz?
The Oilers management is atrocious. Even entering the playoffs I found myself more interested in the Montreal games than the Edmonton ones. Just a much more fun team to watch and an easier team to cheer for. The Bowman hiring was so indefensible that his teams need to be *really fucking good* to look past it. But they're worse than before he arrived.
edit: I bet the Leafs hire Knoblauch in the hopes that it helps a future McDavid luring. Because not knowing that a coach firing would 100% be run past McDavid before it is done would be very Leafs.

ha the oilers are the only canadian team I'd ever want to win it since they loaned us the roster for the 94 cup. But man MTL is really fun right now, MSL was an awesome player and it seems just as good of a coach too
anywho I'd much rather be blue balling mcjesus' few remaining peak years than watching Drury decimate this dumbass rangers team
