Supporting Villareal in the ‘Chelsea stand’ (all of Windsor Park was de facto Chelsea outside of the sections for the Villareal fans) was quite fun! There was one bloke who was just screaming abuse the whole game, who I’ve decided to headcanon as Pande :p Quite fun as a football nerd to follow what you want rather than what the camera is showing, plus the sense of scale and distance really comes into play. Kanté in person is extra phenomenal because he’s even smaller than one realises when he’s in front of you, and tracking him around the place you get a better sense of his positional intelligence (and technical ability) that the TV really conveys. Jorginho’s ability to do with one touch what others do in two is also more apparent. He was also very vocal off the ball and in coordinating the team’s shape. I hadn’t really considered him a leader of that Chelsea team as it’s never really come across to me before, but he does more coordinating of the team positionally than anyone but Tuchel shouting from the sidelines. And yes I made this post to avoid dealing with the car crash that is Inter’s summer :p

If Inter hadn’t their current financial woes I don’t doubt he would have stuck around to try for another title and a run in the CL.

Not saying i would not have done the same though haha. But watching high level football live is defo a must if you have not, the extra you see live compared to on the TV is crazy and makes you appreciate things more like you said about Kante and Jorginho. We're a well-deserved joke Not only that, but now its panic time and Arsenal throwing 25 million PLUS at Ramsdale for what? Keeper is not that good and you have Leno? Seems Tammy is going to choose Roma so your a bit short up top as well unless Augamon decides he will play well.

On the other hand he's maybe not as reliant on quickness as some other strikes, but then again I could see it taking a toll to move all that mass & muscle around match after match.

lets be honest zlatan is a beast physically but his game relies a lot less on speed than lukaku. zlatan is also a much more technically proficient player than lukaku, which is important for players that lose their edge physically.

Lukaku is a fast, it's the combo of strength and speed that is unique . Think he will be fine the next 3-4 years and then become more of box player only.

And yeah, I considered comparison to Zlatan, but also felt like they're not quite the same. Zlatan is incredibly nimble & technical for a guy of his size. At least my first intuition was that they're a bit of different kind of physical beasts.

Was amused to see Salah in the midfielders section and that Gylfi Sigurdsson was still selectable

Seriously? In my opinion, the current state (in Germany) says me that vaccinated people are more dangerous then otherwise (see israel). They can be infected as good as not vaccinated people but they don't have to be in quarantine. A really dumb/dangerous move in germany. I did look if spain and italy have such a thing aswell but i didnt find anything about it. You can play at Bundesliga without vaccine. I am totally fine if you/they recommend you to do but something like a mandatory vaccine is a bad move right now (see france). I am not impressed by the current vaccine at all.

At least 5 Everton players are missing the first match v Southampton due to corona reasons, the only name they gave was James Rodriguez (they also specified that Richarlison and Calvert Lewin were not among them). If he's not on the teamsheet tomorrow night when they are missing 5 first teamers then we know it's serious.

Wait, Balogun is starting as striker. I think he's super underrated so hopefully he delivers today
