And this is generally how it works in NA sports. NHL has 7 Canadian teams and 24(soon 25) US teams, though it developed there from its original heavy Canadian dominance.
MLB has the Toronto Blue Jays and NBA the Toronto Raptors.

The reason why I think an NA superleauge is going to happen is due to MLS telling teams not to negotiate TV rights past 2022, Liga MX axeing Pro/reg, and well the massive amount of money to be made for everyone involved.

MLS needs a national TV deal to be relevent/profitable. At this point I just don't think the audience is there in the nelson ratings to get good money out of anything other than shitty sinclair deals. Hispanic and other immigrant groups don't consider MLS to have the kind of credibility I don't think to really invest in it past. It does undeniably have a very very young and growing fanbase in sports.

Liga MX on the other hand constantly falls into the same trap anything from Mexico does when it tries to grow into the US market. It has legitimacy and a large fan base to appeal to in the states but due to racism/language issues its forced to accept scraps from "Spanish broadcasts".

A marriage between the two leagues gives them massive leverage in negotiating a TV deal in 2022 which is what both leagues despretly need/want. The owners of the teams in Mexico would fall over themselves in getting the equivalent of an USA sports franchise and get a lot of cold hard dollars. The MLS owners would probably see their investments actually make good.

The real problem with any merger would be the financial structures that make both leagues utterly different from each other. One has a union and the other doesn't. One has salary caps DP's YDP's GA's TAM GAM and the other is just like any league outside of the USA.

Seems difficult to pull off. Imagine some team from south/far south of Mexico that has to travel to e.g. NY for a game, or to Canada, and vice versa. It isn't impossible, but I bet the teams will not be happy with it, especially the fans

Technically yes:
-Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Actually not only the top division, but the entire league system is joined together. It's just that a team from Liechtenstein makes to the top division rarely, though it does happen.
-Australia and New Zealand, though there are only 1-2 newzealandish (ist that a word?) teams playing in the A-League.
-The France/Monace example as already mentioned.
-Wales/England.

I think Messi will leave yes, he looks really unhappy in Barcelona.

I really wanted to see Luis Sarez against Barcelona after all the drama about how bad the club treated him and he wanting revange. And he against Messi was special too. Fuck stupid international breaks. he got covid taking part in a barbacue (asado) with the other uruguayans players with no masks or any security measures. 12 players got it already in Uruguay. How can a federation be so irresponsable when they don't even pay the players salary?

Yeah while i agree pointing the finger at the Uruguyan Federation is a good point, but these games were all very pointless and with the good news with vaccines being ready imminently, why on earth risk this international break, just knock it on the head, extend seasons make players play more through the summer with less break etc. If players get a 2 week break now instead of going to international break that is fine. then they will be ready to play more throughout the rest of the year when it is safe and more chance for fans to eventually be back in the stadiums too.
